Hi Kristin... post more when you can...

Donna - enjoy that quiet house of yours... I'm jealous! What sorts of appliances are you shopping for? Hope W enjoys tonight's services.

Laura - sorry that your friend wasn't able to make it... glad that you were at least able to reschedule. YAY for Amanda making her goal again and getting her treat... that's great! What's up with that teacher insisting that the boys sit up... on their first day none the less? At least they were quiet and in the vicinity that she wanted them!

Stacy- glad that things are settling down a bit for you... and yay for Brady's weight gain... that's great!

Jen - So glad to see you back... and SO relieved that your tests came back normal... whew! We've got non-existent potty training here too... don't feel too bad. I'll be interested to see your your eval with Jam goes... let us know.

OK... so Dean was feeling better today so he "helped" us with the packing. I've got some cute pics, and will post later. Unfortunately, I'm not feeling well again. My fever's up... grrr. We had someone decide to come look at the house this afternoon, so my MOm and I took the boys to dinner at Chilis, while DH stayed at the house and picked up. The boys actually did really well, I was proud! They're taking a bath right now, my Mom's in there gettin soaked! DH is getting himself dinner, and my Mom's insisting that I go to bed early. I may follow her advice. I'm supposed to do pilates tomorrow, but we'll see how I'm feeling. I haven't been all week and am feeling pretty lousy about that, but I just need to get better so I don't continue to get these off-again, on-again fevers. The house is really coming along. We went to the Title Co. today and did all the paperwork, and we have our walkthrough on Wednesday. We'll get the keys in the afternoon and the house'll be ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I'm feeling better, I'll be back later...

if not,
sweet dreams,
Kate

Kate ~ Sorry to hear that you're still not better, but at least the boys were good for you today. Hope those latest lookers give you guys a nibble--and yay for being so close to getting into the house!

Nothing much to add except that I just [maybe] had an epiphany. Considering that all of this interest of Leo's in his nether-regions seems focused on pointing it up and taking it out, maybe he's ready for a stab and potty-training and just hasn't been able to tell me yet? He certainly does seem to go every time he manages to free himself... I think I'll try while I'm home, and maybe just pick up some doublers for nighttime, tomorrow. I don't want the poor fella to be taped up all the time and start thinking there's something wrong with him, you know?

Okay, back to quiet vegging...

ETA: Kate, I forgot to say, the appliances are fridge, oven and dishwasher. I'm not looking for anything crazy-fancy, just a nice, coordinated, functional finishing touch to the kitchen--so all the stainless look stuff. (Except for the dishwasher, which apparently needs to be actual stainless--go figure.) Anyway, I really can't wait to dump our current stove, an Amana we bought a bit before the boys were born. It's just turned out to be the worst thing ever! Impossible to keep clean (no kidding, boiling water leaves stains even if none spills!), and has some horrendous hot spots. I'd never get another one...

Oh, and a 'funny' thing with Luka this morning. We were sitting at the kitchen table and he was opposite me, finishing his snack, talking to me. Suddenly, his gaze darted upward and he was clearly looking at something behind and above me (maybe three feet back, based on his gaze), and he said--with a little grin on his face, "What's that... what's that?!" And after maybe five seconds, he shook his head, looked back at me and said, "All gone..."

You tell me...

Donna

Kristin- sounds like things with dh's business are going great! Post more when you can for sure!

Stacy- hey, I guess you've gotta tackle being on your own sometime huh? How are you making out? I think it's adorable that Jackson says "mommy's punk" I'll be sorry to see your hair go but I can certainly understand why it's a pain.

Laura- bummer about your friend not being able to make it. Sounds like you made fun plans though. That's great that you were able to connect with the other mom from registration too!

Donna- kind shocked that the sitter left you with that kind of mess but at least she played well with the boys. I'd say definitely give firmer guidelines to see if she'll cope with it. That's fantastic that Leo is talking so much now. You've got every reason to be proud. Way to go mom! Love the "mimi, vvvvv" story. Had me giggling out loud Can't wait to hear how the potential potty training goes!

Catarina- your plans for your anniversary sound great! I'll try to check out the website later. Lucky girl!

Kate- sorry to hear that you're still under the weather. Hopefully you'll get the chance to rest a little this weekend. Great for your mom for having won that money. Had to laugh at your comment about packing the iron. Sounds like something I'd do

Jen- great to have you back! Your siggy pic is adorable btw. I'm really relieved to hear that all your tests have come back clean.

Well, I think R is coming down with something. She was up several times last night complaining of a stuffed up nose. I ended up cramming some meds into her and she wasn't very happy. Today Nanny gave her some and she gagged and threw up. She was all excited about the party though and gladly dressed up. I took some pics and I'll try to post them on Sunday.

The party went well. The house is beautiful, just what she likes. Her family was really happy to see us and couldn't believe how big the girls had gotten. I think they were a little surprised though that I hadn't seen the house at all before tonight. But hey, I'm working full time and have twin toddlers. Need I say more? Anyway, things were ok with us. We talked about the kids and the house and stuff but it was rather like small talk. Who knows...

Found out today that in a few weeks my school board is forcing my grade 1 into a 1/2 split, the sk into a sk/1 and the jk into a jk/sk. Just freaking lovely. All in an attempt to maintain a cap of 20 students. Stupid.

Ok, I'm pooped, so I'm going to hit the sack. Can't wait to see how the girls do tomorrow at swimming!

Tracy- Sorry about Rylee coming down with something. Glad that you had a good time at your friends, although she may come around, but I can see where things are so different now. Have fun at swimming with the girls tomorrow.

Your class splitting doesn't sound good, how are you taking it?

Donna - Hmmm that comment from Luka has me :scratchingmyhead: do you thing he saw something?

I have to say that I'm so happy for you and Leo; all the work and dedication you have put into help Leo is finally paying off. for Leo!! Gosh Donna, he's come such a long way. I remember it'll be a year next month that I joined and you had just started having all the problems with him and less than a year, he's come such a long way. You are a great Mom, he's (both) so lucky to have someone so loving, caring and dedicated!

I'm going to take your advice and get a trampoline, but I would like to have one where they both can jump at the same time. It's going to be tricky though we don't have a fenced in backyard and I know the neighborhood kids will probably sneak in it.

The sitter, I would have showed here where the vacuum was. But I can understand your point.

Kate - Glad that Dean was a good helper. Argh, can't believe that your fever is starting up again.Hope you are not coming down with anything. How's Jack doing? See how impressive your boys were at Chilis? Didn't it make you feel good they were so well behaved.

Yay for your mom winning some $$ go Kate's Mom! Take your moms advice and get to bed early, will ya?

You are too funny with your iron. You make it seem like it's something from outer space.

Also, don't be too jealous about the pedaling, it's only Miguel and Noah does the Fred Flinstone think or better yet he gets off of it and throws it into the street out of frustration, poor little fella.

Kristin - DH's business sounds like it's doing well. Keep us posted. I'm really excited to be going to the Inn at Little Washington. Maybe I'll pick up a cookbook while I'm there??

Stacy - Oh my you are now alone with 3 kids.... you will do just great, wish I lived closer, I'd take J&P for ya. I love the "Mommy punk" story. So cute how they say little things like that.

Jen - I was so happy to see you post. Glad things are going well, and that you have some meds to keep the headaches away. I love the new siggy picture, they look so grown up. Sounds like they are doing great with their speech.

Laura - Yay for Amanda being a good sales person. I know what you mean about the darn wrapping paper. I buy some every year from 2 girls in my neighborhood and I don't use it that much.

Too bad your friend can't make it. Yeah that menu has a lot of different foods on it. Tell me why can't they serve Foie Gras in restaurants in Chicago/IL?

Overall a good day here. I was carless today so we just hung outside around the house, the boys didn't want to go for a walk. So they had chalk and balls to play with. I have to tell you guys Miguel is becoming so imaginative with this drawings, not that they look like anything, but today he said he was drawing Mama and then Daddy and a banana, somehow everything was on on top of each other. Noah is becoming quite the basketball dribbler and trying to head bunt a soccer ball.

We all went to pick up the van, when we were driving up the street all the neighborhood kids were in the street playing, so Z drove really slow and was joking with them to get outta the way. Well on of the girls came on Miguel's side and made a face or something and Miguel goes "Kendall goofball" Z and I busted our gut laughing. I know that Z was the one teaching them that word as he was calling me that when they were driving behind me.

We too have swimming tomorrow, should be interesting, Z is sick and I think I'm just going to take Noah on my own, I asked them if they wanted to go to swimming classes tomorrow, Noah said YES and Miguel said No.

Have a good night all, enjoy the weekend.

Catarina

Catarina - That goofball story made me giggle! Did you end up going swimming? How'd it go? How's everyone feeling there? Love the drawing story too... sounds like you had a good day overall.

Tracy- so what does all that shifting mean for you? Will your class change? will you have to teach a mixed group? Why are they doing this now? Hope things work out.. you sound frustrated, and rightfully so.

Donna - did you have some spirt visitors that Luka spotted? That's my take on the event. I thought that you got new appliances when you re-did the kitchen... am I thinking about someone else? Anyway, sounds like fun. That stove that you have now sounds like a nightmare with that spotting thing. What's up with that?

So this morning I was running a fever, but went to pilates anyway... thought maybe I could sweat it out. Came home, and Mom and I took the boys to the gym. DH is working until 2. We had someone else come by and look at the house while we were gone. Took the boys to lunch, and now we're attempting some quiet time, but Dean's just not having it. Once they're up, my MOm and I will get back to packing. We've put a big dent in it... and have more to do.

I hope everyone's having a great day so far!

Back later,
Kate

Kate - How are you feeling? D&J are they still feverish, probably not since you took them to the gym, guess I just answered my own question Hope you got a lot of packing done. Yay for your mom helping.

So it looks like it's just you and me on here today?

hi everyone! Hope you are having a good day.

Not much to report from here today. We went to swimming classes I did manage to snap some shots but haven't downloaded. As has the norm Miguel doesn't really want anything to do with the swimming lessons. Noah had a good time and was extra splashy towards everyone.

I hadn't noticed (duh) but there is another set of twins in the class too, boys. Didn't do much else except try to get the house back in shape and some grocery shopping.

Tomorrow we are going to have breakfast with the people that had the bday party for their cat.

I'll check in tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

Catarina

Catarina ~ Are you all meeting at a restaurant? Is the cat going, too? (Sorry... some straight lines are just too good to pass up.) I loved your description of Noah being "extra splashy towards everyone." Do you think Miguel will come around, or is he just not as fond of the water?

Also, I've just got to say that this just cracked me up:

Quote:
Miguel is becoming so imaginative with this drawings, not that they look like anything, but today he said he was drawing Mama and then Daddy and a banana, somehow everything was on on top of each other.
There could be a rather Freudian interpretation for that , but I won't go there. (I'm very proper, you know... ) Anyway, how cute of Miguel! Lately Luka's intrigued by a drawing on the spine of a vegetarian cookbook I have because it's got a drawing of a woman with a Carmen Miranda-style 'fruithat' on her head...

Thanks again for all of your support with Leo and his speech progress--it always makes me feel so good! You know, when you mentioned that you wanted to get a trampoline both boys could jump on, I couldn't help but remember something W steered me to online (since he initially didn't want the boys to have one--and the only reason he agreed was because this was a smaller one with a safety handle. Anyway, just take a peek at these stats before you choose what to get the boys: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/en...indexed=google

Kate ~ Yeah, your take on the Luka sighting is the same as mine. Whatever it was, he liked it, for sure. His whole commentary had a sort of, "Well, that's interesting..." quality to it, you know? Nope, no new appliances for us except the stove, until now... The fridge was the one we bought for our rental house, and the dishwasher was the original builder's piece of @*%#. The only thing we're not replacing is the microwave, since it's just fine and is a nice, neutral black, so it'll blend with the stainless/black stuff we'll get. Anyway, it sounds like your weekend's productive despite not being 100% physically--good for you and your mom getting so much packing done!

Tracy ~ Aw, poor R, being so upset about taking the meds that she upchucked... how's she doing today? Looking forward to seeing pics of the party... That split at school sounds like a pain... yikes, in our public school system, we typically had about 35 kids per class! I still remember our high school French class being so overcrowded (it was literally held in a clcassroom divided by a leatherette curtain) that about a dozen of us didn't even have desks--we had to line up like sardines on the windowsill... Quite the bonding experience, it was.

Well, we had a really good day. The boys and I headed out to the park with the train this morning with my friend and little Miss Sarah, and then to a nice shady park for an hour and a half or so. Then home for lunch, and the boys pretty much played together while I threw together a monster tortellini salad for our break-the-fast tonight. We lucked out with sitters; this one was so sweet and really intuitive with the boys. Even while I was here getting ready to leave, she didn't try to take the easy way out with them; she was happy to get down on the floor and do jigsaw puzzles with Luka, and had Leo yelping with laughter like a baby hyena. (And she left the house immaculately neat!)

I was so pleased! The services (what little I was able to get to) were really nice, it was good seeing people, and on the way home, W and I stopped into a place I really like for drinks and some music. It was oddly reminiscent of my New York years; at the next table was a transvestite dressed to the nines, and about half an hour later, a woman who was a dead ringer for Carol Channing walked in, wearing a rather spectacular red suit and dripping with jewelry. Kind of funny--this woman looked substantially younger than Ms. Channing, but the staff was all over her. So tell me: are there rich women who have extensive plastic surgery to look like Carol Channing? The only person I know who goes out of his way to look like her is a female impersonator...

Stacy ~ In case you guys hadn't seen, here's a link to info about free museum access tomorrow: http://www.austinmuseums.org/ Not like I expect you to go running off to check out the exhibitits, but in case anyone else wanted to get J&P out for a bit of diverson... Hope you're having a good weekend--I miss hearing as much from you as we used to (though we all understand!).

Well, time to just hang out for a bit...

Donna

Donna - Ok... there are so many ways to go regarding the Carol Channing thing... maybe it was that female impersonator. Certainly they can't think that the "real" Carol Channing just dropped by for a drink. Glad the sitter was a good one, and that you were able to get out and enjoy the services. The park sounds nice. We had a HUGE downpour of rain and hail... it was crazy! Chilly, and rainy off and on. Glad that your weather was nice. What are your plans for tomorrow?

Catarina - any special reason for the breakfast... like a birthday for a fish or anything.. or just getting together? Enjoy! How'd the swim lessons go?

So the gym was fun, and of course, there were no naps. We got some more packing done, although my Mom did most of it while I dealt with the boys. DH had to work until 2. We had a rough day... lots of fighting (dh and I...not my Mom). I would attribute it to me not feeling well, the stress of the move, and trying to sell this house. Plus, with work just being yucky, things could be better.

So my Mom's leaving tomorrow morning, and we have no plans with the boys. Don't know what we're going to do... especially since it's going to be another chilly day here.

I hope everyone had a great day!

Sweet dreams,
Kate

Kate ~ Nah, the Channing impersonator's an old friend. He at least would've said hello... Can't believe you guys are having chilly days already--I'm taking the boys to a farm/outdoor concert today, and still I have to make sure we have enough drinks on ice so they'll be okay outside for that long...

Got to run and get these characters dressed (figured I'd wait 'til after lunch and baths...). Be back tonight.

Catarina...I was thinking on the lines that Donna mentioned, and chuckled when I read her post about the 'artwork'. The boys have learned the word 'goofball' too...Amanda thinks it's funny when they say that. Apparantly she has also, not on purpose, taught Kyle the word heck...he said 'what the heck?' the other day and she cracked up. How is Z feeling today?

Tracy...I hope that Rylee is feeling better! That really stinks about what they are doing with your class. Glad that the party went well.

Kate...How exciting about the house...what are you going to do while you have both houses, bridge your mortgage? Hopefully, it'll sell soon for you! I'm glad that you got alot done this weekend, yay for Mom and all her help!!!! How is everyone feeling today?

Donna...It could be a sign that he's ready to go. The boys used to say "PU" right before they would poop their pants. So, I started throwing them on the potty whenever they said that. Of course, they stopped telling me and don't have any problem sitting in it. Kyle has been stripping alot lately too, and he's peed in his room on the floor twice now, another reason that I am glad we have that vinyl floor in the bedroom, so I thought that I would try again with him. I'm glad you had a better sitter this time around...will she be back? What ever happened to the 'you have to vacuum' sitter? I loved the whole story about going out after services...

A quiet weekend...Amanda went to her sleepover and had a blast...no sleep, but a blast all the same. I went and picked up her and Margaret from the party in the morning to go to the barn, and they informed me that they had gone to sleep about 4 AM....she had alot of girls there too! Better the other mom than me!!!

Lessons went well, although lack of sleep caused Margaret to have a major meltdown. She wasn't happy with her horse, she didn't want to ride him, he wouldn't do anything for her....yada, yada, yada...I was worried that Amanda would be the same, but she rode Oliver and he is a pretty good horse, so I lucked out!

All three of the kids took a nap yesterday, at the same time even!
I took that time to enjoy the peace and quiet, paid some bills, and did a little sudoku

Today, I helped Amanda clean her room, then I cleaned up the boys room. We brought out this blow up bouncer that my mom had bought for Amanda when she was little and put it in their room...they loved bouncing in it! Better than them jumping on my couch!!!!

Exciting stuff, huh? Well, I'm going to go make dinner, just wanted to make sure that I checked in. Take care, I'll try to check in again later or in the morning!

Laura - glad you had a successful weekend... despite the lack of sleep on A's part. Sounds like she handled it better than Margaret. That bouncer sounds great!

Ok... ready for this? My Mom left after the boys had breakfast... so had the house back to ourselves. So my FWT came over this morning with her girls for a playdate. They played, the boys, especially Jack CHOWED their lunch and NAPPED!!!!!! for 2 hours!!!!! Dh was shooting, and I really didn't know what to do with myself! The house was SO quiet! DH came home and I ran some errands.

Here's our eating tally for Jack... just because it's so unusual.

He had 3 bowls of cereal and a 1/2 sweet roll for breakfast. 2 bowls of pasta at lunch, fruit snacks, and (keep in mind that DH made dinner) nearly 8 mini pancakes and chocolate pudding for dessert!!!!!!! That is simply incredible for him... he's just doesn't eat this much! WOW!!!

So, I think I'm going to run out and get us some take out.. DH and I have had a rough week, and think this will be nice for us.

I'll be back later, just had to share while I had the chance.

Kate

Kate- holy cow, sounds like the little man is going through a major growth spurt or he's been playing real hard today! YEah, sounds like I may have a split 1/2 class. I'll know more tomorrow when we have our primary division meeting. Sounds like you guys had a pretty productive and busy weekend. Sorry to hear that you're still feeling crappy though.

Donna- the museum and farm sound like a lot of fun! That whole Carol Channing situation is a little funny. Reminds me of this time several years ago when I was young and foolish. I saw what I thought was a woman dressed in full leather walk by and thought to myself how much makeup "she" was wearing. I nearly passed out when I noticed the big bald spot on "his" head. Anyway, I needed to go to the bathroom and ended up following this guy. Needless to say I was so caught up in seeing him dressed that way that I followed him right into the men's room.

Catarina- I too giggled reading the "goofball" comment. Hey, nothing wrong with just hanging out at home every once in a while. Like how M was splashing like that too.

Laura- ooh, gotta love those mornings after you haven't slept all night from giggling with your friends. Sounds like A still ended up having a good lesson though.

Well, the girls did relatively well at the pool although they were pretty nervous and didn't want to put their faces in the water at all. I'm hoping with the extra exposure they'll get now, they'll get used to the idea. The cottage was good and we got a lot accomplished here at the house today.

Rylee is still pretty congested but she's in a good mood. I think T may be starting something but we'll see.

I finally downloaded the pictures but I'll post them separately. Have a great night!

Everyone! Wish I had time to read/respond to everyone but I just got back from a Girl Scout Campout with my older girls. We left Friday shortly after school & I am extremely tired! I just don't sleep well at the campouts (I always think I'm going to oversleep thus never able to get a solid chunk of sleep at once). The girls had a blast - the theme was art festival. They did tons of art projects and lunch was even set up as different stations like you'd find at an art festival. Anyway - I'm just really upset because the twins obviously didn't miss me as much as I'd wanted them too. And to top it off, now they want dad to everthing with/for them! URGH!!! That's so not far and I'm just so tired that it's even more upsetting then it probably will be in the morning. Thanks so much for letting me get that off my chest.

I do have a quick question (thought since Donna seems to so much knowledge in a wide aray of topics, I'd throw this one out there!)
My 6yr old (almost 7) has hypothyroidism. She takes Synthroid daily and her levels are in the "normal" range but she doesn't seem to really feel well. She always tired, I can't get her hair to grow, and she always has dark circles under her eyes. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to help her "feel" better. It's hard for her to actually tell me she feels different because I'm not sure she knows how you should really feel. Anyway - thought I'd throw it out there if anyone else has any experience/knowledge on this! Thanks!

Well I'm going to call it a night (right after I throw a load of laundry in). I'll check back in the morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend! (Also hope everyone's illnesses are gone!)

Have a great nights sleep!

Tracy - First the pictures of the girls are can they get an cuter? They look like such big girls going to school and the picture after the bath and them in their costumes. Hope Rylee gets better soon and that Taryn doesn't get what she has. Glad you were able to relax a little at the cottage this weekend.

Kate - You better weigh they boy, he may have eaten a whole 5 pounds of food, good grief!!! If that's not a growth spurt I don't know what is? Are the boys feeling better? How about you, you feelin' any better? Glad Jack napped today, 2 hours wow!!! I could see you be at a loss with what to do.

What didja get for carry out??? You and Donna with your little wise cracks about the breakfast had me cracking up

Stephanie - Glad that you had a good time camping with the girls, sorry that you didn't get more sleep. I'm sure the twins will be back in "Mommy mode" very soon, it's just that they spent sometime with Daddy and he probably spoiled them a little. Sorry can't help you with Paschance's problem, I'm sure Donna will come through. ~no pressure Donna

Laura - Wow Amanda had a late night, at least she did well riding. Yeah, I wouldn't like to be that mom I'm sure she had her hands full. That's funny that Kyle is into "what the heck" yeah we have to be really careful as to what we say around the boys they are picking up everything.

Donna - Great that you were able to get out after the services. It's been a long time since I've seen someone look like Carol Channing, although when I saw her name I immediately thought of her voice and not what she looked like. The Transvestite had me remember a time when I went to New Orleans with some girlfriends and we tried to sneak a peek into a Transvestite bar and nearly got chased down Burboun Street by one!!!

Glad that you and the boys were able to get out to the farm and concert. You and Kate had me laughing regarding the breakfast.

So the breakfast with the cat party throwers (from here on out C&E) Actually was prompted because C's mom was in town and she wanted to see the boys. His wife is traveling for work to China and he's been a single dad for about week so his Mom came out to help. They really are nice people just a little quirky, I guess. Breakfast was at there house, waffles, fruit salad, and muffins. So the boys ate two breakfast today, but nothing like Jack sheesh!

So other than the breakfast we didn't do much, the boys played outside and Z mowed the grass, I put up my wood blinds but wiped down every single blind before I put them back up, tedious, I know but it needed to be done. DH is still not feeling well, I think he has what I had a couple of weeks ago.

My MIL is coming next week, I have to get the guest room ready.

Hope everyone had a good day,

Good night,
Catarina

I am babysitting so we'll sneak in a quick post while the kids are napping.

Tracy- those pictures are very cute...love the tights & dresses

Kate- Jack is one hungry dude! Hope everyone is feeling better. I hope the right person comes through your house this week! How stressful! The pictures of the new house were breathtaking...really! Just gorgeous.

Melanie- I hope things are going ok this week and some of the pressure from the speech has lessened. Will he qualify for a free preschool/program at age 3?

Jen- hope you continue to feel good...daily medication is no fun though so I'm keeping my fingers crossed there are some more insights & solutions in the coming weeks.

Donna- the last babysitter sounds wonderful, I hope she is available again. I hope everything is coming along with the floors. BTW - what ever happened with the Yucca plant that was cut down by the lawn service?!

Stephanie- my mom had part of her thyroid removed her senior year...she missed her hs trip to New York if I remember right. Anyway, I'll aks her if she has any insight. Other than that....keep posting when you can. I enjoy the glimpses into your busy days.

Laura- glad Amanda had such a good time and managed to avoid a meltdown. Sounds like the boys' classes are going well.

Catarina- how long is your MIL staying? the pictures of the remodeling looked great.

SO last week was fun...zoo, walk n talk at the park and then I THOUGHT I had to babysit last Friday so i get there and it turns out I didn't! Bummer! Carrie and I hung out, met up with her other frinds with twins, the kids played at Chick Fil A, we all went to library storytime and then me and the girls ate lunch at her house before driving home. We had a nice, simple weekend.

Today I AM babysitting Tomorrow 2 realtors are coming to look at the house and consult with us. wednesday a mom with twin girls (2 months older) and a little girl who just turned 1 is coming over to my house for a playdate. Thursday is supposed to be the walk n talk and Friday I have plans with Julie and her twin girls. Gosh how did my week get so full?

We got notice from the peds office that flu shots will be Saturdays in October ...can't believe it's that time of year already.

Ok better go....someone is likely to be up soon.

Kristin

Stephanie - I have hypothyroidism and take synthroid daily as well. Has she had her levels checked recently? Reason I ask is because when I start feeling really overtired, lose some weight, lethargic, etc. I know it's time to go in and get my levels checked. I know you said they were normal but just thought I'd check if they've been done recently. I usually get so exhausted that it's hard to make it through a day without dragging and I always have circles under my eyes.

Kate - glad to hear you got so much packing done. Hope you and dh had a nice take out dinner to relax and unwind from a long week.

Donna - so glad to hear the sitter worked out well. Sounds like she really was interested in the boys and what they wanted to do. That's so funny about Carol Channing!

Laura - you brought back memories for me from when I used to stay at my friend's house almost every weekend. We'd go to bed around 3-4am and sleep until noon! Aaahhh, the good ole days!

Tracy - the girls look so grown up. Absolutely adorable. How are they both feeling?

Catarina - how long is your MIL coming to visit for? Is that a good thing?

Our weekend was good. The weather was beautiful. I took the boys to see my nephew's soccer game on Saturday. They kept yelling "Go Andwew"! It was so cute! Then Mark and I took the napless children to the mall and finally found Red Sox hats that fit their heads. I swear, they have huge noggins but the rest of their body is small. Anyway, we ended up stopping at Bugaboo Creek for dinner which didn't work out as well as we thought it would. They were all excited for "chicken/fries" but unfortunately their chicken is made with egg batter sooooo we had to settle for grilled cheese which didn't go over well. But they managed to stay in good moods and were exhausted once we got home.

I forgot to mention that my poor dad was in the hospital last week. It turns out he had a really bad UTI which is uncommon in men I guess. It was so bad that he was admitted for 3 days and put on some powerful antibiotics. He went back to the doctor today because he's still not 100% so they wrote him out of work for another week. He shouldn't even bother going back at all because he's retiring Oct 14th so we'll see. Me, my sister and brother are planning a retirement dinner for him in October so that should be fun.

Well I think it's time for me to relax while the boys are napping. I took the boys for a long walk this morning and it seems to have completely defeated me. I"m trying to take them for walks everyday to get the jiggle out of my thighs! I'm blessed with those big soccer thighs that no longer have any muscle in them!!

Jen - it's good to see you here. Glad that you are feeling better too, sheesh! that has to be a relief. Sorry about your dad being in the hospital, hope that they figure out what's going on with him.

You crack me up with the jiggle in your thighs. Me it's just not my thighs its my tummy too, don't know what happened the the cute tummy I used to have. :shrugh: We had great weather here too over the weekend. Love the new siggy of the boys they are so cute, how can you tell them apart?

Kristin - Yay for babysitting. Sounds like you are busy as always. When are you thinking of putting the house on the market? sending you selling vibes.

Not much going on here today, I think the boys are coming down with something. Both are a little cranky and fussy. Miguel took a 3 1/2 hour nap and I put them down at the normal time and they went down without a fuss, so either they are really tired which could be from the playground or they are not feeling well.

Tomorrow is school, I'll check in tomorrow; hope everyone had a good day.

Hi all...

I've officially come down with something that feels fatal. I'm going to bed, and have called in sick for tomorrow.

I'll be back when I rise from the dead.
