Default Best Stroller

I am trying to find an affordable double stroller for my 5 1/2 month old boys (4 months adjusted age). Someone gave us a Schwinn Jogging stroller as a gift, but it won't even fit through the door of our house. I am looking for something that is narrow enough to fit through doors and aisles, but is affordable.

Please help! I'm looking for advice on what to buy!

Default Twin Stoller

We just recently bought the Combi Twin Sport. It retails for about $200, but I had a 20% off coupon from Buybuybaby so we wound up paying $160. So far it's been rugged enough to handle the NYC streets where we live and we haven't had a problem fitting it through any doors. Two caveats though, you have to purchase the rain cover separately and the shades aren't that good - I wound up buying the protect-a-bub double. Another option is to wait until a new year model arrives on any particular stroller, then the stores usually set the previous year models at a discount.

Thanks! I've looked at that one at Amazon.com. Their customers have rated it 4 out of 5 stars and the price today is $163.39. We've also been looking at the Jeep Wrangler Twin Sport side-by-side (Amazon.com $94.99) and the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem Plus (Amazon.com $184.25). Any advice, opinions, or gripes about these?

By the way, we have and love the Baby Trend Double Snap N' Go Stroller (Amazon.com $109.95). The infant car seats just snap on and it's easy to fold and stuff in the trunk of my car.

I'm stroller shopping again and I own the Jeep side by side. While it is a fine stroller, it is very basic. No baskets, no parent tray, no kids tray, etc. The positives are that it does fit thru doorways and it's lightweight and small. Just depends what you're looking for. I'm finding that I'd like a few more bells and whistles than what it offers. I'm looking at getting the Combi stroller that everyone's talking about. We'll see!

Default jogging strollers

I love the Baby Trend joggers if you just need a double.

They are also very affordable.

I own a single, and have run often with my sisters double. I know the double fits through doors at public places.

I need a double VALCO one so I can put on the toddler seat (ughh to the tune of like 900 for all of it)

For the infant seats I think Im going to get the triple JOOVy because I need a space for my 1 yrs old. If not I would just get the Snap and Go until they were out of infant seats.

Default Baby Jogger City Elite

In my opinion, The Baby Jogger City Elite is the best side-by-side stroller on the market. (Please don't confuse this with the City Mini model...I am describing the model that has large rubber tires.) It steers beautifully and has great shocks. My kids are tall for their ages so it provides more head room than the MBUD. My sis-in-law has the MBUD and I tested it out while vacationing with them this summer. The Baby Jogger City Elite steers just as well and fits through doorways just as easily as the MBUD, and it has a parent console along the handlebar. I can't live without this feature. I stick sippy cups, keys, cell phone, bottles of water, my I-pod, my twin toddlers' shoes (when they remove them midway through a walk and I don't know where else to shove them! LOL!) and all kinds of other essentials. There are a total of 12 pockets! Six are hidden under a flap which is great for hiding a camera or even a small wallet if you are on a day trip somewhere. The Baby Jogger City Elite also holds up to toting a heavy diaper bag on back without flipping over when the twins get out of the stroller. I have the Skip Hop Duo Diaper bag and I just throw the strap over the strollers handlebar. My other, more lightweight double stroller (Peg Perego Aria) flips back in this situation making the bag spill or get soiled. I also like the feel of the handlebar on the Baby Jogger City Elite better than the handlebar on the MBUD...for me it's a texture issue. The MBUD has fine ridges and the Baby Jogger City Elite has a smoother texture.

The biggest difference and the most important factor for me when making my decision was the ease with which they each folded. The Baby Jogger has a really easy pull system to close it. Since I live in the suburbs and use this as a car stroller as well, I wanted a stroller that would close up easily. One note though, I happen to be tall (5 foot 11) and my husband is 6 foot 3. The handle bar is adjustable, but the Baby Jogger still seems a little taller than the MBUD. I don't find that to be a detraction, just thought I'd mention it.

The basket underneath fits a ton of stuff and the canopy is also better than MBUD since it has two separate canopies. If one child is sleeping, you can lower the canopy while allowing the other child to still view the outside world. The canopy lowers much more than the MBUD. My sis-in-law needed to buy an extra sun shade made by a different company in order to shade her children on the beach this summer. I didn't need that and instead found my stroller to be cooler because there are so many vents on the canopy. In the winter the vents close up securely. Finally, I lugged my Baby Jogger onto the beach all summer long and it still looks brand new. I use it almost everyday and it has never given me any trouble. I have owned about six other strollers (including single strollers) and this is by far the best one I have ever used. It's worth it's weight in gold! Even though the price tag is high, (yet cheaper than the MBUD) it's the best investment I made after having my twins. Thanks Baby Jogger City Elite!!!!
