Default Co-sleeper to mini crib to toddler bed..will this work?

We have a 2 BR apt and putting 2 regular size cribs in the same room won't leave room for much play space. I am worried that they will outgrow the mini crib but not be ready for a toddler bed. Any info will help!
thanks!!!

we moved our girls to a queen sized mattress on the floor at 10mo because they had always shared a crib and wouldn't sleep in separate cribs but they were too big to stay in one crib AND they were climbing out, using each other as step stools, so it was more of a safety issue. They did great and go down for naps and bedtime wonderfully 90% of the time...the other 10% they play. their room is totally babyproofed so it is fine/safe but it can be quite the chore to put ALL of the clothes away AGAIN! We had ideas of using toddler beds but since they wanted to be together and we already owned a queen bed set, that's what we went with. Good luck!
