Default Graco DuoGlider

I went to Babies R Us to register this past weekend and am getting very confused about the whole stroller/car seat issue. My girlfriend, who also has twins, swears by the duoglider but I read many poor reviews on the Babies R Us website and the Graco site. I'm not really seeing any other travel systems that don't cost an arm and a leg but are still safe and manageable sizewise. Can I get some feedback from all of you so I can make an informed decision? Thank you!

I didn't like my DuoGlider at all. Other options are the Double Snap-n-go or the Kolcraft Contours. The snap-n-go can only be used with the bucket seats, so you would need a new stroller after they are out of those. The Kolcraft is both a snap-n-go and a regular stroller.

If I had to do it over again, I would get the Kolcraft. I actually got the single one when my singleton was born and I love, love, love it!

Good luck!

I had the duoglider for the first 4 months. Even though it is very convenient, it is way too heavy! As soon as the boys were big enough, we got a side-by-side stroller. If I could do it all over again, I would've gotten the double snap n go for the first few months and then the side by side stroller. The snap n go strollers are so much cheaper than the duoglider and much easier to use.

I have a question aobut the kolecraft, it looks nice, but it seems from the description that you have to take off the front seat to break it down. Is this true? That seems hard and time consuming, plus would take up even more room in the trunk. I'm pondering the stroller question right now! I have a side-by-side jeep umbrella and the double snap n go. I was wondering what I would want when the girls get older. The jeep has no storage or snack trays, but I might end up sticking with it...

You do have to take the front seat off the kolcraft to fold it up. I totally had my heart set on getting the kolcraft until we tried it out in the store, but becuase you have to take the front seat off its not as convenient.
We ended up with the duoglider.

Thumbs down graco duo stroller

Not excited about the graco duo stroller. Reason being is that one of my boys can recline and relax in the back but the other has to sit up in the front and if he is sleepy then he is just miserable. Another not so good thing is that it isn't the easiest to maneuver. The bigger the tires the better also if u live in the city or like to do outdoorsy types of activities. We are looking for a stroller now and are selling our graco on craigslist.

we have the duo-MONSTER......... it is heavy, but it works for us. The back seat reclines all the way, but the front only partially reclines. Both have slept in their seats with no problem. Ours is 2 yrs old, so maybe the pp who stated that hers didn't recline has a different model. It doesn't steer as easy as some others and as your babies grow it will only be more for you to push. I'm sure there are others that are better, but we just decided after spending all that that we'd get our use out of it. Hope you get other recommendations.

I have the Duo glider and I have no complaints. It may be a bit bulky but well worth the front/back and under storage convienience. I take it everywhere and have had no problems.

What about the Graco Quattro Tour Duo?

When I read reviews on the Babies R' Us website a lot of people didn't like the DuoGlider, but the Quattro Tour Duo got good reviews.

I tried it out in the store and it folded down much smaller than I expected it to. It wasn't as big as the Kolcraft.

We ended up registering for the Quattro Tour Duo. I hope we like it!

Has anyone tried the Quattro Tour Duo?

I would really think about the Baby Trend double Snap -n-go I loved it and know a lot of twin parents who love that stroller. We now have the DuoGlider and I HATE it. It is heavy, bulky and the front seat does not lay back. I wished I would have looked at the reviews before we wasted our money. We are buying a new stroller this weekend. I sold my Baby Trend double snap-n-go for a great return. Good luck it what you decide.

I had the Graco douglider and it was stolen along with our car and I was soooooo happy. It worked but I wish I would have gotten the double snap-n-go, then moved to our Maclaren. I know the Maclaren side by side is pricey but we found ours gently used on craiglist. I love that stroller.

Default be prepared, this turned into a novel (sorry!)

I thought I hated Duogliders (way back when my daughter was about 1 I tried one with someone else's toddler in it and it was terrible!) so I went to Burlington Coat Factory yesterday with the boys with the intent of buying a Kolcraft Contours duo. I also wanted to try out the Quattro duo. And while I was playing with the strollers I put my two in a Duoglider too, as a comparison. My mom and 5 yr old tried them all too. I was astonished to find that I liked the Duoglider best! My mom agreed, and my 5 yr old pushed it with almost 40 lbs of twins in it, with ease. So since its all fresh in my mind, I'll go over my likes and dislikes of them all:

Kolcraft Contours Options Duo-
likes: the seats are awesome, the kids looked comfy in them, all the adjustments are really easy and quick, and its a very sharp looking stroller. It rolls like butter without kids in it, and it seems like a sturdy well made stroller.

dislikes: once I out my 18 and 20 pounders in it, the front wheels went all over back and forth, it was still pretty easy to steer, but I didn't like how it veered back and forth. This sucker is LONG, I mean super long! Its like driving a cart with one of those cars in front like grocery stores have. When putting the seats face to face, the twins had no leg room. The little safety bars are awfully high, like at armpit level for my one yr olds.

Quattro Duo-
likes: pretty looking, the handlebars are awesome, it steers really well considering its weight (40 lbs) and it fold up easily. The seats are easy to recline and it has all the bells and whistles.

dislikes: its heavy to push after comparing it to the Duoglider (10 lbs lighter) and when folded, it is very bulky. It doesn't look like it would sit on its side very well, its pretty much meant to be stored the way it folds down, which doesn't work well in a minivan. The seats are very close together and even though there is legroom, the top of the child in fronts head is like right there, for the one in back to constantly mess with. The stadium seating sucks if you leave the front sunshield on. Its pricey compared to the other two.

Duoglider-
likes: noticeably lighter to push after trying the other two weighing 10 lbs more. It was much nicer pushing 70 lbs instead of 80. It turned really well, better than I remember from 3-4 yrs ago. The seats are spaced further apart so you can actually recline the child in front without their head being in the other one's lap. It folds down pretty small, for a double, especially if you take off the front tray. Its much cheaper.

dislikes: its long (but still manageable) and the fabric isn't as pretty as the Quattro-I think all the new patterns and colors are only on the quattro.

So anyway, after all that, I'm getting a Duoglider. I'm going to get rid of my Combi side by side, and possibly my double jogger depending on how well the duoglider handles outside.
