Hi Mommas!
Wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
My babies are two weeks old now and I am still having a great deal of
pain and numbness in my left leg. My doctor says it is because my little
girl was laying in such a way that it tipped my uterus. It is incredibly frustrating and I am in a lot of pain and my leg gives out often on me. Also, I hate when I can not pick up my babies b/c of it. I have been assured it wil go away soon - just looking for some reassurance as I fear this is a long term effect? Was also on bedrest for 5 months and wondering if that could contribute?
Many thanks!

Jumping boards...
Sorry to hear you are in such pain. There are things that you can do to help "realign" a tipped uterus - the biggest one being massage. As a massage therapist that focuses on pregnant and postpartum women, I would highly recommend that you consider receiving some Maya Abdominal Massage. I've included some links below:
About Maya Abdominal Massage:

How to find a certified practitioner in your area:

All of the practitioners should offer "self care" instruction as part of your treatments so that you can learn to maintain the proper alignment yourself.
Hope this helps and that you find some relief soon!

I'm sorry I don't have any answers about the leg pain, but I wanted to say you have a beautiful family. :-)

Great links - thank you so much for the advise- I will look into it ASAP! Someone had suggested seeing an Ortho MD as well.
Ginger- thank you for the kind words! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy - I hope you are not too uncomfortable. :)

I'd suggest either the ortho or a physical therapist. Your body swells up with so much fluid and then after it leaves your body, everything has to realign itself. You might have a pinched nerve or something.
And I agree, your kidlets are adorable!

My son sat on my siatic (sp)nerve for the last few weeks and my tailbone and leg hurt for a month after. It did pass but I, too, thought it was going to stay forever. My chiropractor recommended that I go in to her a couple of weeks after I have these two so that they can make sure everything reailigns correctly.

Just got back from the doctors- he thinks I have nerve damage on the left side from where my baby girl was laying. It could last up to 4-6 weeks and recommended an MRI to get further info. He did rule out sciata, which is good and also said to take Alleve at night which lasts longer and take the prescribed Ibuprofen during the day. Hopefully, it will pass in a few weeks and I can hold my babies and walk around with them without my leg giving out! Thanks for all of your feedback.
