Ok, today I HAD to go to WalMart to get diapers, toilet paper, plus 20 other things---anyhoo, it just me and the fellas (they're 2.5 yrs). We ended up going so that we were done a little past usual lunchtime. "Our" walmart is 30 min.s from our house. There was an Arby's right there so I decided to chance lunch eaten out....Oh My Gosh!!!!!! They were both SOOO Bad!!!! I was embarassed...no, wait....make that mortified at how bad they acted. And of course the place was quite busy with many others eating lunch so that made it even worse. They were both running all over like they had no discipline whatsoever---not paying a lick of attention to me. Then when I caught them and "strongarmed" them and tried to catch the other #1 screamed, and I mean SCREAMED like I was killing him. As soon as I cought #2 he joined the screaming and they had quite the harmony going on. Needless to say, I asked the lady waiting on me to please make it to go and yes it was pure hell getting them and the food out to the car. We got home about 45 min.s ago and I am just now calm. I was sweating profusely and the blood pressure was out of control!! The winter's been sooo long already yet it is spitting snow today. I truly thought getting out of the house was an excellent idea for all three of us but holy smokes, that was no fun at all. On the bright side, they were very good in walmart. UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!

We go through the drive in & eat @ the park a lot or just go to McDonald's (which I HATE - but the kids LOVE it because it has a play area & a lot of other kids to play with) - they need a chance to burn off all that pent up energy.

 my boys do that too. They are not bad boys..but when in any particular situation....they will just let loose. Of course this NEVER happened with my singletons. This is just something us moms of twins get to experience.

This happened to me once in a restaurant with my sister and her 1 child. She said to me...."wow...cant you control your kids?". I told her I couldnt WAIT until she had her baby and found out what it was like to have more than 1 kid :eviltongue:

We all have our moments. Kids too.

Don't let it keep you from trying again! The more kids get out like that the quicker they learn to behave in public.

My girls are 2.5 and we eat lunch out together probably 1x per week. It took a lot of practice to get them where they behave pretty well but there are still times when they just can't be contained and I have to cut the meal short. One time I was with a couple friends who both have one child a few months younger than my girls. They strapped theirs into highchairs -- which we haven't used for ages -- and then sat there calmly eating their lunch with amused looks as I repeatedly tried to coral my two giggling, running, sometimes shrieking girls. Luckily I was in a good mood and had to work to keep myself from laughing but eventually I just threw money on the table and dragged dd's to the car while I'm sure my friends went on to discuss how I need to learn to control my children. But, most of the time my girls are really good in restaurants. Going out a lot, discussing the expected behavior before we go in, and making sure they're hungry enough to be interested in eating I think really helps.

I have had outings like that, too! emabrrassing and puts me in a bad mood. I recently vowed not to go into any more stores with my twins. Right now neither one wants to sit in the shopping cart; worse, they each insist on getting their own cart and pushing it! :nono:

It's always been SOME anomaly with routine shopping ever since they stopped riding in the stroller.

Thanks for all of your encouragement and own stories. I will definately try again, they aren't always so bad. Usually I have at least another person (adult or teen) with me in case one is behaving less than par so that I can deal with him. This time I was alone and it bit me in the a$$!! Of course that's Murphy's Law! ha! But we will definatley try again and probably soon. I too take them to McDonald's with a playland but try not to very often because a) I HATE that kind of food b) it's not very nutricious...I take applesauce and granola along with us and c)they are sooooo angry when it's time to leave!! I am so very ready for nicer weather and park/outside time! But it snowed again overnight and only about 30 today. But spring is inevitable sooner or later, guess I will have to cling to those thoughts!!!!
