4.5 years olds BORED?

Please tell me what your children play with the most.
My boys are 4.5 and are mostly into running anything with wheels around the house at full speed. I am so tired of the loud fast play. I am looking for new ideas to pull out when they get hyped up, cabin fever such days

The quiet game we play are puzzles, coloring, paint & play dough. I will admit my son does bore easier than my daughter. I did discover one trick that my Mom use to do to my little brother. Spring clean their room, take 1/2 their toys away, put them up somewhere. 1 they play with the fewer toys better than when they had a lot, 2 they get bored bring out a few of those old toys they have forgotten about - it's like Christmas! They fall in love with their new/old toys all over again. I do this often.

I hear you about the cabin fever days!

I try to rotate the toys (we have a lot) when they are asleep (:listen: that's only when I can outlast them at night).

You could try getting them started with paints or play-doh. If you don't have that stuff, or if it's too much mess, going to an indoor gym is a good way to let them burn some energy.

Sometimes, reading them two books buys me a half hour of quiet play afterwards.

On really cold days, mine ride their tricycles around and around and around in the garage.
