my ex's stepfather is her mom's first cousin. i'll give you second to process that............................yes. so my children call him "granddad". i dont like this. my father was their grand dad and her father is their grand dad, or grandpa or whatever you want to call it. they need to know the truth. so who do i go to first? him? or do i just explain to them the way ir really is?

So your ex's mom is married to her first cousin? :loco: If they are married...I dont see anything wrong with them calling him granddad....since it involves a marriage within the family. Your kids just have 3 granddads. I think your kids are really too young at this point to try and explain all that  stuff to them. They will get it some day.

I would leave it alone for now. Giving 4-year-olds information on the familial origin of "Grandad" would be confusing to them (it's confusing even to adults)and might make YOU look like the bad guy.

I agree with others. I would let it go for now, and explain it to them when they are older. They are much too young to understand right now. Besides, judging from other posts you have made, you have a lot more on your plate right now. Don't make this one more thing.
