OK, I am sick to death of my guys getting in the fridge!! Especially my little Brady, he gets in there every single chance he gets....it's like he waits for me to step out of the room and he runs directly to the fridge, gets everything out of the door part and lines it up around the kitchen!! (They both do it, but he is the biggest culprit.) I have purchased "fridge latches" of several varieties but they are EXCELLENT "lock-pickers" and have mastered them all. I am so sick of it. I have tried everything to sway them away! The final straw was this morning when I took a very fast pee-break and came back to the kitchen to find a whole dozen eggs smashed alll over the floor.....AARRGGH! Not just the mess and the waste, but I am FED UP with it! Any suggestions?? By the way, my guys will turn three in July.

Oooh, I'd be mad too! Luckily mine can't open the fridge.
A few weeks ago we were having issues with them slamming doors so I put them in time out EVERY time they even touched a door....it took about 2 days of them basically being in time out all day before they got it figured out. Good luck!!

Mine do that too...I give them a warning and then a time-out if they do it without permission. And I especially hate when they leave the fridge door open!!

Mine too, especially Josh, I just steer them away, but I think kids do that period.
I remember looking in mom's fridge (when I was older) all the time, saying we have nothing to eat meaning nothing in there was what I wanted, and for some strange reason, each time you open the fridge you think something magically yummy is going to appear.:heck:

Last week Ian got into the fridge and opened a jar of mustard and stuck his hand in it, all in the amount of time it took me to answer the phone "hello"
Thankfully he did not touch anything before I got to him but Landon was just yelling " OOHHH GROSS OOOOHHG GROSS BROTHER "
It was not a battle I was even willing to fight, I just cleaned up the mess and explained in an uncommonly calm and nonthreating voice that it was a NO NO and that if the jar had broken on the tile it could have hurt him...
I guess it is just an amazing contraption to little people..

My son does the same thing...sometimes its ok like the other day I came in to the kitchen and he had his cup,the milk and a package of instant breakfast lined up on the counter. But sometimes it isnt ok...like when I found him in the kitchen with a whole pitcher of juice spilled in the fridge/...what a mess

duct tape. Works wonders.
I keep a roll on top of the fridge and put fresh duct tape on the door every morning. High enough they can't pull it off and fold under one corner of it so it's easy for you to pull it off when you need to.

Hey Ma Kettle, believe me, I've tried duct tape!! Our fridge isn't a side by side, the freezer is on top and the fridge part on bottom so they can reach any duct tape I use. I have used duct tape for lots of things as they have grown---still do!!-- but they have mastered peeling it off, too. Thanks anyway!! They have actually been better about getting in there the past few days so maybe they are getting bored with it. I can only hope!! Heehee!!

Ours is fridge on bottom, freezer on top also.
The duct tape doesn't keep them out. It just slows them down. You still have watch but at least you can use the toilet and be back before they get in.

:nono: Fridge on bottom, freezer on top. A bike lock just means they open the freezer too :snicker:

Mine has a freezer on bottom and fridge on top so they can't reach anything in the fridge even if they get it open.
