Ok, has anyone had their child have a fever of 105.3 before??? Matt is really really sick. He was to the ped. Friday, who said he had bronchitis, gave him Zithromax. He is worse, this am he was vomiting and had a fever of 105.3 (by ear-checked it a couple of times). I gave him a Tylenol suppository, and the fever did come down. He is going back to the ped. this a.m. Does the actual true FLU come with a high temp like that?? It is really scarry.

Poor little guy!
The 'real' flu is actually in the chest, so yes, with him already having a diagnosis of bronchitis and a high fever, he may very well have developed pneumonia on top of that.
I hope your appointment goes well and he feels better soon.

Yikes! That seems like a crazy high fever to me. I'm glad you went to the doctor. I think I probably would have gone straight to the ER. I hope everything is ok!!!

:grouphug: Hope your little guy is feeling better today.
ANY fever over 105 needs to be seen immediately. How long has he been on anti-biotics?

Dh had him to the ped. yesterday they sent him for chest x-ray to check for pneomonia, it was negative. They never tested him for the flu, which I thought was odd. His fever has come down, and he slept through the night, he vomited before bed, but then was ok. I guess we will wait and see.

Poor thing - my son used to run really high fevers - 104ish which is very scary. I know you can rotate the Motrin/Tylenol so they always have something constant in their body - I think every 6 hours you can give the Motrin and then at the 4 hour point give the Tylenol - I would check with your doctor though - I haven't had to do that in quite a while.
