the girls and i went to a bday party over the weekend. it was the simplest birthday ever. just us and another girl and the birthday girl and 2 other moms. cake pinata and jumper how delightful and simple it was I loved it. Im tired of these huge bday parties tons of gifts and us overwhelmed moms. The mom changed out the pinata dip and party favors then celebrated her sons bday the same day and they arent twins..just the same month birthday well done mom.

we went to a party for a 4 year old girl and she had "registered" at a local specialty toy store. there was a card in her invitation just like you do for a wedding!!

I was in a store recently and saw all these bins on a shelf with names on them. I asked the cashier, and she told me it's for the birthday child's "wish list." They come in, put the toys they want in the bin, and when people come in "shopping" for them, they can purchase something from the bin.
yep, just like a registry.............

can a porshe fit in one of those bins? too bad if not becuase thats what kids are going to expect when they are five if parents and family give them everything they want from that toy bin! seriously these are children lets keep them at that people!!!

that's just sick.... registries and toy 'want' bins.... just sick. What are parents teaching kids these days???
Not only that but they depriving children of the simple pleasures of life. :motz:
Do you remember as a child getting a package and shaking it with your ear up to it to see if you could guess what it could be?????Most of the excitement comes from the anticipation and wondering.
What fun is it if you already know what you are getting?
