We don't (we have a Jeep Cherokee) and overall we're not that fond of them. I think they may come in handy for very long roadtrips, but other than that, I'd rather my kids entertain themselves some other way. They watch enough TV as it is!

We bought a portable DVD for our long trips. DD got it for xmas and we used it once recently on a 2 hr drive. I didn't tell them I brought it. I wanted to wait and see how they were first. 30 mins into the drive one started pulling the other one's hair. I was by myself with 3 kids and still had another 1 1/2 ahead of me.
That DVD player came in pretty handy that day :lollypop:

We only have a portable one that we use for trips over 45 min/1 hour.
We have portable ones for longer trips. One of mine won't watch it - I think it makes him car sick :(
We'd probably use it more if it was integrated into the vehicle. We are very crowded in my car and finangling them as well is more work then it is worth for shorter trips.
I say if it makes life in your car easier - get one!!!!

We have one in our Ford Expedition XLT EL. It comes in handy. It is a treat for them because they do not watch much tv at home.

We have one in the mini van and the kids don't know what it is. We have never even folded it down so they can see the screen. We are planning a road trip this summer and I don't want to ruin the novelty of it before the trip. My sister has one and if the kids are in the car for 30 seconds they HAVE to have it turned on. I watched with them and it has caused more trouble than not.

That is our rule too.

That's what I'm afraid of. I'd rather not even introduce the idea.

We have one in our Suburban and we use it for long trips (over 1hr). Andrew always asks if he can watch a movie and the answer is usually no, because 90% of the time we're not in the car for more than 20 minutes. I couldn't live without it on those long trips. It's a definate life saver.

We have a DVD player in our mini-van and we only use it on long trips (and I'm talking really long trips, like when we drive to LA or Vegas).
