Hi Everyone. My name is Elizabeth, I'm a 30 yr old mom of a 7 yr old, 3 1/2 yr old fraternal twin boys and 5 month old identical twin girls. I've been in the Sept./Oct 2007 thread. My boys are running me ragged though and I thought some other moms out there would be better quallified for their issues. Like never going to bed on time. The go to bed at 8pm, they goof off and play no matter what i do, they don't fall asleep until 10pm. Even taking their nap away doesn't help. I'm trying to do the Nanny Jo (Super Nanny) thing and not loose my patience, but oh boy, is it wearing thin. There's other issues, too, but I'll save those for another time.

Welcome...the more the merrier!
We've been going through the sleeping issues here too. I never had these issues with my DD when she was little, she was always so good about going to bed.
I moved the bedtime up to 9 PM from 8 PM, that helped out a little bit...my DD goes to bed at 9, so we have a little routine now...they all get ready for bed, then we go into her room and tell her goodnight, then we go into their room and I or DH will tuck them in. I think that since we started doing this, they have been going to sleep faster. I still have been going in at least once to remind them that it's bedtime, but nowhere near what I was doing before.
Hope to see you around more!!! Good luck!!!

:shakehands: Welcome and congratulations on 2 sets of twins!
We are having some issues at bedtime too, stalling (potty anyone?), and goofing around after lights-out. It has been helping us to review "the rules" as they are getting into bed (we say them together). Our "rules" are: stay in bed, no jumping, be quiet, lay down, and close your eyes. They will also add in there, "and no screaming. and no yelling. and no laughing."
I do give them a little leeway, I don't really care if they whisper or talk quietly for a few minutes. If their talking and goofing around escalates, I go in and ask, "What do you think I am going to say?" They both answer, "Be quiet." Me, "Right." They then try to start all of the stall tactics.....again. I end it with, "It's time to rest. Nite, nite and I love you. Now be quiet."

Hi Elizabeth! Mine are always stalling at bedtime, even if they're so tired they can't see straight. They always need to go potty, need a drink of water, need "just one more book", it's always something. The only thing that works so far is just ignoring them, shutting the door and not responding to them (unless we really believe they have to go potty or whatever). Sometimes if we're desperate for peace and quiet, though, my DH will lay on the floor in their room until they're asleep. Bella never stays in her bed though..she always ends in our bed (that's another a whole 'nother thread though..LOL!)
