...as close as all the other "birth month mamas".

2004 moms didn't really get 'into' a BMT like the years after us :worry:

I really want the closeness these mamas share :o: I know when things get nuts on the board every winter, I would like to have a retreat to go to and feel 'safe' from all the hooplah...just to chat and really get to know one another. :throb:

I think it's nice to have another place to come too (although my birth mom's seem to be a great group of ladies - I just joined a little late).

How have you been Tracy?

I can't wait until the warm weather. I'm feeling a little(lot) couped up with these kids!

I said the same thing to my dh the other day. I want one "BIG" snowstorm. You know, to build a snowman and make angels with the kids. I tell you, we both think alike. I was hoping for a big snowstorm last Friday. We hardly got a dusting.

I'll bet we will all be close. Some of us are already! I am sick of the drama here and the rude people. NOT ALLOWED in 3/4 y/o forum!!!! I cannot believe that R&H will be 3 very very soon. I am working on their party as we speak.

Angie- we had our girls birthday party last week (24 kids & 20 adults) Whew! I was wondering what you decided!!! I remember you posting about trying to decide.

I admit I tend to only have "time" for my birthmonth thread. I read all over but have such little time I don't post that much. I agree that it is nice to always have a place to come to for support. The ladies on my birthmonth thread rock! But I know you do too (Tracy whom I had the pleasure of meeting and Angie whom I've appreciated so many of your insights) and are very supportive of the other mommies on the board (as soooo many others on the boards). (bka83- I am looking forward to getting to know ya!)

Anyway I am glad for this forum and will be trying to keep up with y'all!:)

Awww! You are so sweet Kristin! :joytears:

You will find that Barb is the most kind-hearted, gentle soul you'll ever "meet." Love me some Barb!

Birthday Update: I have decided on the Curious George theme. They love George and the theme is easier to find than Super Why. DH and I have been building a GINORMOUS play structure for their birthday present so that all the little kiddies can climb and swing like monkeys at the party. :proud:

Hi all...I was happy to see this forum too!! I usually stick to the "birth month" for my youngest twins as most of us went through our pregnancies together...those ladies are awesome!!! At the same time, I'd love to chat with other moms in the 3/4 group as well...so I'm happy to be here and looking forward to getting to know you all better (well, some of you I have seen around but don't know that well!)

Rima - :hello: I live in Ohio. Our weather is horrible, isn't it!!

Kayleigh and Clay had different themes for their 3rd birthdays. Kayleigh had a butterfly theme and Clay had construction trucks.

Angie - I think Curious George will be a cute theme. I thought I saw birthday plates, cups, etc. when I was shopping last month. You'll have to take a pic of the playset. BTW - How are you feeling from the other day? Any soreness today?

Tracy - Clay loves Cars! He watches it all the time. Kayleigh's not too thrilled with it. She'd rather watch her Barbie movies.:snicker:

Helene - Secret of marriage? Patience, communication, and space!!:snicker: Those first 10 yrs. were hard on us. I think we were both trying to find out who we were/are. I guess we've found ourselves. If you can make it through those first years, I believe, you're on your way to a happy marriage (well, most of the time).:snicker:

To all the others - :hello:

As for the snow...we just had our big winter storm...11 inches the other day, 4 more inches last night, and we are expecting more snow tomorrow night, bringing us another 3-4 inches....I'm so done with snow and cold.

Angie...My boys LOVE George! But they like Thomas better, so that was the theme that we did this year...

Hey ladies! I got in on my birth month thread too late I guess and I was due end of May but delivered in April so didn't know where I belonged. So I would love to join you all on here and feel like I have a home here :snicker:
This 3/4 yr old forum was a great idea! Hope I can keep up with all the posts here though.

Helene ours wobbles too when all of then are swing on it but the structure itself stays put- We really need to seal ours this yr-

:hmm: Maybe I should let dh build it. He really wants to do it and he is very handy (he just built our deck). But it takes much longer and somehow seems like it always costs us more

where in ohio is everyone from? I am in toledo - crazy crazy weather!

glad to "meet" you all!

 Hi everyone! I am so happy to see this forum off to such a great start. I hated that I did not have an active birthmonth either (tracy's fault) :snicker: This will prolly be my new home if at all on tmmb. I am just tired of it all. But I miss my friends and it seems like a lot of them are here so :cabbage:

Charley has another oral surgery today at 10am so I will be back after that to up date you all.

Have a great day ladies.

You'd better not go anywhere...everyone is slowly disappearing and there are so many that I miss seeing all the time.

I'm tired of the drama too, so I just stay clear of it and go to my BMT mostly, and now here.

Good luck with Charley today!

Hi Heather!

Your girls ARE soooo pretty! So are your horses! I have a 7 y/o Arab gelding, myself. He's my biggest "baby."

Thank you . I wish the horses were mine. We went to TN the first week in Jan. and the girls were able to ride. We had a great time. We are looking to buy some horses next year. My parents are moving back to Ohio and we will be able to keep them on their place.

just checking in today!

Barb - my college roommate was from bellefountaine. she worked at the honda plant in marysville in high school. I have been there several times!

Ohio weather has been crazy.

anyone have any ideas on rashes???? dd had one on the top of her bottom and a little up her back. it would be where the rim of the panties touches her. the only thing I can think of is that she was at my moms and possibly the detergent??? but its no where else except there. she is fully potty trained.

thanks!

I've been a TMMB member for a while, but haven't posted regularly in a long time since having a 3rd baby in Dec. 2006. I recognize a lot of the names and children. Glad to be back!

My twins will be 4 in April and we are planning a Ballerinas and Buckaroos Party complete with tutus for the girl guests and cowboy hats for the boys. :)

Those pictures with them on the horses are :cloud9: I am hoping to take the girls to ride a horse when we go up to northren WI for our vacation. My parents did that with us when we were kids and I always looked forward to it. Last year the girls wanted to go so bad, but I had to tell them they needed to be a little bigger. Believe me, they don't let me forget it. :snicker:

 Hi - I've not been on much but enjoy reading that everyone is experiencing the same things as me!

Are any of your girls over the top w/drama? DD seems to just MELT at the drop of a pen! She also seems to want to eat only bread and apple juice and actually gags when something she doesn't like touches her lips! :meditate:

My DD has been horseback riding for almost a year now and she absolutely loves it! We go now a few times a week because she likes to help her instructor with the beginner lessons and turn out some of the other horses.

When I bring the boys with me to the barn, Kevin loves to give the horses treats, but Kyle just says 'no thanks'. I think when the weather is nicer I'm going to leave Kyle at home and bring Kevin up for a pony ride and see how he does.

Carrie...It still could be the detergent...that spot might just be more senstive then other areas...any other changes? If you think that it's a reaction to something you could probably give her a little Benadryl.

Does she wear jeans a lot? I've noticed that Lily gets this a lot from her jeans rubbing on her back. We never had a problem until she became potty trained. I guess the diaper goes up higher in the back  I use CeraVe cream (hard to find, but CVS usually has it) on her after bath and it seems to do the trick. Good luck!

she did have jeans on that day? hmmm. doesnt wear them too often, but I will keep an eye on it now. I just rewashed everything that my mom had washed to be safe, so we will see. she also must dig her nails in when she pulls down her pants, because she always has scratches on either side of her bum where she would put her fingers. stange really!

Thanks!

sounds like my childhood :cloud9:
If we we end up staying here (which I doubt) we intend to take our boogers up to my step sisters this yr to get used to horses. I loved that part of growing up (farm/gardening) and I want that kind of wholesome experience for my children too :throb:

Hi ladies!

Gerri how did Charley's appointment go?

We've been dealing with crappy weather here but we did get out yesterday for a much needed 'fun day'! :yippee: We don't get to do that very often in the winter.

We went to Olean and spent the day shopping for shoes :faint: $400 on shoes for the kids and workboots for dh. Now I have to find room to store them all until spring where the kids can't get to them.

I found a couple cute outfits for the twins yesterday too out of necessity. :anon: They both had accidents while we were out and needed a change of clothes. :snicker: The outfits were so cute though!

I ordered a new camera! :yippee: It should be here soon and I can start taking pictures again :cloud9:

Other days I want to rip my hair out with their tantrums. But for the most part....they're cute! :cloud9:

No, Jen, I feel the same exact way (and I try hard not to feel guilty!!!) Cole and Bella go to preschool MWF and I know what you mean about feeling happy in the evenings before they go off to school. I can handle their "off school" days only b/c I know they'll be going back the next day...LOL!!! I still have the baby twins on those days but having 2 less kids to care for actually puts a huge smile on my face (guilt, guilt, guilt....oh well)

Gerri, I do work for tps, but have not heard of the nursing program. Its run through our district? I can ask around, but I always thought I was pretty much in the loop on things! Do you know anymore about it? Where its held, etc???

DD's rash is much better. used some cortizone on it and its almost gone. I am thinking it was either the jeans (which she has worn before) or my moms detergent - but shes been washing their clothes when they spend the night there for a while, so who knows - maybe it was something she ate!

I posted it on TDT this morning right after she posted it since I didn't get an answer...I am assuming that everything went fine since she hasn't really said anything about it...but, it sure would be nice to HEAR IT FROM GERRI :snicker:

I only get to drop the boys off once a week at the park district...but I use that 2 hours like nobody's business!!! I haven't decided what to do with them next year...if I want to go through the park district or the school district. The park district is kind of on the expensive side, but the program is great! The school district is way cheap and it's the school that they will be going to for Kindergarden and where we go now for playgroup, so I'm on the fence. but I am going to start looking into it here in the next few weeks.

I am so glad to hear that her rash is better! The school is on Superior and it is through the tps adult education. I am comng in March to start admissions. It is about an hour drive each way for me but it is only 48 weeks. The name is toledo school of practical nursing. Let me know what you can find out. I will pm you the number and stuff.

Jen you are too funny!!! I can't wait until preschool for my twins- they drive me BATTY! Now Eli goes to school this fall and I am really having a VERY hard time with it- I want to keep him all to myself :(

T will the twins be able to do preschool? If so you can just move in the school and hang out will all of them! That is my plan anyway. I took 5 weeks vacation when Mack started preschool. :anon: I ended up with parent of the year when it was over because I was there so much doing everything from stapling, to making homeowrk packets, parties, I did the storytime, every field trip, graded papers, By the time she was done with preschool the kindergarden teachers all wanted Mack in their class. :snicker:

:anon: Sorry. :snicker: She did ok because the freaken dentist had us at the hospital preped and waiting and he called and canceled saying he had an emergency. So she had a crying fit and was terrified for nothing. We had to reschedule. And TRACY :order: I told you that when I got back woman! :drama: she never listens to me! :snicker:

I think the school district is a good choice for next year! I know what you mean about using time alone! I can get a lot done in 30 mins let alone 2 hours. I would be in heaven with that!
