I was wondering whether or not anyone else has experienced dizziness- or feeling like you could faint. Out of the blue, sometimes I get really dizzy and it feels like things are spinning. Usually I am sitting down so it's not an issue of changing positions. I had an echocardiogram last week and luckily it was completely normal but it scares me every time it happens. Any thoughts? Tara

I've had the same thing, even when lying down. From what I've read its nothing to worry about. I mentioned it to my doctor like 2 months ago when it 1st happened and he said not to worry about it too. It is hard not to be concerned though. I know low blood sugar can cause it but I don't think that was the case when I've experienced it.

I had that dizzy spell with all my past pregnancies. Mine was from low iron during pregnancy. Funny thing is I haven't had it with this pregnancy.
I would see stars and sometimes feel like I might pass out. I would just close my eyes for awhile and then open them as soon as it passes. I was afraid of getting it while driving. Hope everything works out well with you two and it passes.

I get dizzy spells all the time. In fact, as a result, I don't drive anymore--I tend to get dizzy in the car a lot. Anyway, when I mentioned it to my Dr. she gave me her standard reply: drink a huge glass of water and lie down on my left side. She said dizziness is caused from so many things: iron deficiency (which I'm not this time) minor dehydration, the baby's or babies' positioning, etc.
It is very frustrating! :woa:

Not only do I get dizzy also, but I FAINTED in the middle of a restaurant Friday nite!!! My whole family was out to dinner, and I started feeling really uncomfortable and sort of nauseous/lightheaded, so I stood up and said I needed to just change positions and maybe walk outside to get some fresh air...well, the next thing I realized, I was on the floor with like 50 people surrounding me!!! Luckily, my fall was pretty soft, as my husband managed somehow to be quick enough to break most of it, and I think my hands were down behind me too, for whatever reason! PLUS, there just happened to be a labor & delivery nurse eating at the next table (what are the chances???) Her first question was how far along I was, and then are the babies moving? The babies were moving ALOT, so that was good, and she said it could have been that I was dressed too warm and was overheated, sitting in the chair and not changing positions can do it, because it's pressure on your vena cava (the nerve running down your back), and the position of the babies as well...but boy, is that a scary experience!!!! One I don't care to repeat!!!
