Can they tell gender at 16 weeks?

I'm having my next u/s at 16 weeks and am wondering if we might find out the sexex of the babies. The u/s is along with an amnio so I know we'll find out the sexes with the amnio results but I'm wondering if we might get a sneak peek with the u/s. Any advice?

They told be anytime between 16 and 18 weeks. Might depend on the type of u/s. We were supposed to go in to see our peri at 17 weeks to have the 3D u/s, but we couldn't get in until I'll be 18 weeks 2 days. So, you might be able to see something. :-)

I found out at 14 weeks. They are boys though so I think it's much more obvious. If they were girls, the u/s tech wouldn't confirm it until 20 weeks.

We had an ultra sound at 16 weeks and were told boy and girl. Then at 20 weeks we were told two boys. I wouldn't hold them to anything they say until you are at least 20 weeks, kwim? Glad I had the sense to not buy anything pink!

They should be able to. When I had my nuchal fold scan at 13 weeks the peri told me one twin was a girl (the other was in the wrong position to see).
He said they can tell definitely by 16 week although again I think it depends on luck i.e them being in the right position! I'm seeing him at 17 week so am hoping he can tell me what the other twin is then.
My best friend had twin boys 2 months ago and they told her at her 12 week scan that on was a boy and at 16 weeks that they both were. So hopefully you'll know very soon!:)

They should be able to tell you. We could see at 14.5 weeks that is was a boy/girl, but I am waiting for my peri to confirm it at 18 weeks before I do any shopping :snicker:

They were able to tell for us at 16 wks that it was definitely a girl and a boy. Had another at 20 and they were still sure. :)

We had our 18 wk u/s today and they were both questionable. We just couldn't get a clear enough picture that my DR was willing to say either way. Hopefully at the 20 wk!

First off- Congrats!! It is so crazy to me to see July/Aug 08 mommies! It feels like just yesterday I was where u are at! I want to say I found out in the beginning of Feb. sometime so I think I was 20 weeks and we found out we were having a b/g. They showed us the pee-pee which was very clear on the boy and the 3 lines showed the girl- we were thrilled and I asked every time we had an u/s to check again : ) good luck
