I initally thought I'd get 2 beds for twins. The more I think about it I think they will already be comfortable together, maybe 2 beds will cause seperation anxiety? I know I'm worrying about something REALLY early but any advice would be appreciated, and or thoughts on the subject!

We had 2 cribs for ours and for the first 4 months they slept in their carseats  They did end up finally sleeping in them and they were in the same room, so I think as long as you keep them in the same room together you shouldn't have to worry about seperation anxiety! If I were you, I would definitely go with two, b/c then you can convert them to toddler beds and not have to purchase 2 MORE, KWIM? GL with whatever you decide!!

We always had 2, 2 pack n plays too. They slept in the pack n plays for the first couple months and then we moved them to their cribs. They are in the same room, I don't know how they'd do not being together....we haven't tried it. Our thinking was get 2, if they didn't like being alone then we'd put them together. They have never slept in the same bed.

I say two cribs... ours slept together in a co-sleeper for the first few months but then they rolled around and were rollling on top of each other --not so good... moved them to seperate cribs starting at nap time and progressed to bed time. They are fine and sleep well. It is also nice b/c we got the cribs that are convertible --they will become toddler beds and then full sized beds. We will never have to purchase another bed for them until they move out!!! unless of course, they want bunk beds, then we have issues :)

Well,
This is something that I've put alot of thought into as we now have 6 kids and the twins due in April. For the beginning our twins will share a playpen next to our bed. There will already be a crib on our rm. our youngest dd is in there. And 2nd crib we will be getting from dh aunt. I've always co-slept with our kids. But, nt' sure I will with the twins. The plan is to start them in the playpen/crib in the beginning until we put our dd in a toddler bed after they are born. (she had a seizure in April of this year and don't want her to hit her head.) So, she'll be in the crib a bit longer. I agree with the 2 cribs, but for us it willl be one until they are a couple of months old. Unless they keep each other awake or wake each other up (which I've seen on other posts here that ..that does happen) then we'll have to get another crib. But, will wait as we have to buy clothes as all of boy clothes are long gone. But, oh well...looking ff to buying clothes again.
Good luck with what you decide. It's never to early to start thinking about these things. I started right away as well...lol:sunshine:

I've been thinking about this recently as well. My plan is to get two, but still put them together from the start. We'll have one crib in our room for the first few months, and see how that goes ;)

I would say two. Mine are in there carseats.....but they will go in seperate cribs soon. Reagan loves to sleep with Taylor but Taylor is just not that into it!

Good luck!

Thanks for all your responses. I think I will get 2. Maybe start them off together for a month or so. But at least have 2!

Thanks again!

Mine will be in our room in the beginning (probably twin pack n' play), but we will be setting up our crib in my son's room for them for naptime. So, we will be doing 1 crib for as long as possible, but it's more of a space issue for us than anything else. They will be sharing a room with our 4 year old for now (we hope to move in '07), so I really hope they like to be in 1 for a while together! Ha! :)

My girls will probably share a crib for the first couple of months but I'm still buying two.
I found these great cribs on Wal-Mart.com. They convert from crib to toddler bed and then to kids bed. It is well worth the $100 I would spend on each of them.
Check 'em out....

i knew that i always wanted 2 cribs...i know some ppl very successfully put their twins in a single crib for a long time, but it was my preference to have 2. my guys slept in a basinette together in our room for the first 9 weeks (well, they started out in the basinette but ALWAYS ended up in our bed b/c they never stayed sleeping long in it) so we were very uncomfortable. after talking it over with our ped. we decided to put them in their cribs at 9 weeks, and they've never had an issue.

I used two cribs from the begining. I put them in the same crib at nap time but they starting sleeping better in their own cribs. They always have shared a room and still love to go to sleep at the same time but they hate being in the same bed together. They can talk to each other but they can't bother each other in seperate beds.

I'm hoping to keep them together as long as possible and will go out and buy a second crib if needed. I've heard they can wake each other up, if that happens I'll definitely separate them!

At first, I just had them together in the bassinett attachment of our pack 'n play. Then when they grew out of that, they were just in one of the cribs together (and I wasn't above using the car seat trick to get them to sleep for at least a little while anyway in those crazy first few months :-p). But, I'm glad I had the second one on hand because, the more they started moving around, the more they started kicking each other and just basically getting on each other's nerves :-) So, I had to move them into seperate beds quick, before somebody got hurt :-p All twins are different, of course, but while mine are close, they also need their space at times :-p And, they slept much better as soon as I was able to get them into seperate cribs....

Congratulations, btw!!

I'm pregnant with twins and I plan to have two cribs, but they will be in the same room. I plan to have two pack n plays as well.
