Has anyone else had zygosity testing done? We were told our girls are fraternal because there were two sacs and two placentas. Now we're not so sure. We know that about one third of monozygotic twins will grow in separate sacs and have their own placentas. Everywhere we go, people ask if our girls are identical. We have no problem telling them apart, but occassionally I will mistake one for the other. We are looking into getting the test done. I was just wondering if anyone was told incorrectly that their twins were either one egg or two egg twins and later found out they were the other?

They told us that ours were identical from the beginning because we only had one sac. But you can have 2 sacs and 2 placentas and still be identical.
The test offered at the advertisement at the top of the page is the company we used. It was fairly inexpensive and really easy.
Keep us posted. They look identical to me. But so did the Olsen twins and they are fraternal.

We were going to get them tested at 6 months. We thought there was a chance ours were identical, because in the beginning they looked so much alike. Now at 5 months...definetly NOT identical. Greg is fair haired with blue eyes and Pat is dark haired with green eyes...so, they are fraternal.
