Many of you know that my boys were born at 25 1/2 weeks. They are now 31 1/2 weeks. i was wondering when your preemies outgrew their A's and B's and desats?

My girls were born at 30 weeks, and I recall a significant improvement around 33 to 34 weeks. Seems like I also remember the nurses telling me that was the usual timeframe as well for many preemies. Although my girls had gone the customary 7 days without apnea episodes before their hospital release, we were still released with home apnea monitors which we used a total of 4 months (2 months all of the time, 2 months nights only). My twins were released from the hospital at 35 1/2 weeks gestation, weighing about 4 1/2 pounds.

My boys were born at 26w6d. I would say around 35/36 weeks they started getting very minimal. They would still have them occasionally, during feedings for instance, but nothing like first couple weeks. Mine were sent home with apnea monitors too.

Mine were born at 29 weeks and they went home 42 days and 51 days after that with no a & b's or desats, it is hospital rule they cant go home if they are still having them. I think it was 4 days with none.

So I would say around 33-34 weeks gestational age.

Mine were not born that early (31 weeks) but our hospital told us that the earliest they could go home was 34 weeks but I know all hospitals are different! Good luck with your little ones!

The desats, A's and B's stopped at 33 weeks for us. What a relief!

Mt boys were born at 30 weeks, the only thing keeping them at the nicu at 37 weeks gestation was the darn A's and B's. They wouldn't release them until they went 5 days without one. Day 5 would come and they would have one!!! This happened 2 weeks in a row. So, we were sent home finally with Apnea monitors. They didn't have any real alarms go off past 40 weeks. A's and B's are the worst!!! Good luck!

Our babies were born at 33 weeks. Logan weighed 3lbs 13ozs, he was on cpap, and he had desats every few days. At our hospital they had to go 7 days without desats. Logan started doing good around day 25 in the hospital, I got so exicited b/c I was finally going to have both babies home. Then bam, a desat. I remember crying so hard when the hospital called and said he had 5 in one day. I rushed to his bedside and stayed all day, at night I came home but as soon as the sun was up I went right back. I am so glad that is over. I can still remember the sound of those monitors going off. Logan came home after 33 days in the NICU, but it was the longest 33 days of my life.

I hope your babies get well, and I will be praying for you. :grouphugg

Mine were born at 28wks and Connor was 72 days NICU and Logan was 95 days NICU. Both are still on monitors and have had no A's or B's for quite some time. When they both came home they ad apneas and brady's all the time!!! Now we will probably be graduating from the monitors as they only wear them at night now. Good luck!!! and Congrats!!

The boys came home on A/B monitors and O2.
They were off the monitors after being home for 6 mos., so they were 10 mos. old, 6 mos. adjusted.

Riley was 34 weeks and Maggie came home on a monitor at 35 weeks because of A's and B's during feeds. They were born at 29 1/2 weeks
