My twin boys are teething (they'll be 6 months on 2/28). They are very fraternal, so one has more pain than the other. They are starting to use each other's body parts to chew on.
Is keeping a log the best way to make sure that one's teething pain is handled differently?
Suggestions?
My oldest got all his teeth before his 1st b-day (excluding molars) without an incident of sever pain or an ear-infection. Their discomfort is new to me.

You can keep a log for yourself, as you might find it useful. In any event teething pain usually lasts for a day. It can happen at any point and a good pain reliever will help. Chewing, red cheeks, drooling (more than usual), slight fever, irratability, diahreah(sp?), diaper rash, and a rash around the mouth can be indicators of teething. As they get older they will handle teething easier.

Dear outnumberedby4men,
I just read your post and it made me giggle. My identical boy twins, 8m are trying to cut there uppers now & they too are chewing on each other. I love it , they are so cute!!
Just as you mentioned, I think it is a good idea to keep a log. I log most everything with my guys. **I have teethers that go in the freezer/fridge, they love the coolness. Also, try a cold wet wash rag for them to chew on.

Here's another suggestion: chamomile teething tablets. I found them in the health food department of my local Fred Meyer store. They're very tiny and dissolve almost instantly once placed in the mouth. I didn't ask my pediatriacian about them. I didn't follow the recommended dosage either. I gave them 4-6 tablets at a time (not all at once) and that amount was good for them. I had in the back of my head "they can't OD on chamomile" so I wasn't worried and the tablets are very, very small. They taste good too.
