In case anyone needs a new addiction... this blog cracks my a$$ up! The opening picture and the caption under it of today's post most especially

Okay, top 5 things I love...
1. When they hug me and make an 'awwwwww' sound.
2. When they laugh hysterically at me, each other, someone else....
3. Brady's new smile, he uses his whole face and crinkles his nose while squinting his eyes.
4. The way Ethan crawls, like a little animal. Then he goes too fast and falls.
5. When they cuddle w/ me at night.
We don't have lovies (BTW, what is a lovey???)
They both are getting attached to the blankets dh's grandma made for them when they were born and Ethan is super attached to his binkie lately. I try to give it to him only when he is sleeping (or out in public to muffle the high pitched screams) but he finds them during the day and I see him w/ one in his mouth (usually upside down, which totally cracks me up!). We use the NUK binkies and they can only go in one way.
Laundry is calling my name. Later, mommie!

Lisa - a luvey is anything they use to soothe themselves/have to have to fall asleep. So, sounds like blankets & pacies are the luvies for y'all. I'd never heard the term until we got these little blanket squares as a gift (satin and flannel w/ a corner flap to hook little fingers onto) and they came w/ a story about how every child needs a "luvey". Old concept, but new term for me.

I just read about luveys too... The only thing is that my boys don't have luveys... So then I was panicked because they didn't have luveys... Then I calmed down and thought I needed a luvey... So I have been sleeping with on of their blankets... :snicker:

You all crack me up! I love the lists of things your sick of and things you love. SO FUNNY!!!
I didn't know what a lovey was till a few months ago. Then neither of my babies were attached to anything. Well Lily her thumb and Luke his paci, but I read somewhere that if your baby pulls at his hair or ears when he is upset/tired that he needs a lovey(comfort item). My mom had gotten them each a security blanket so I started putting it in his crib. Soon he was snuggling it & I'd go in to get him in the mornings and he would be talking to his lovey and touching his face. It was so adorable. Now he snuggles him at night to fall asleep.
Monica- :party2 Yeah to Nathan on his 1st tooth. Have a great trip back north.

Hi! Just a quick post to check in- I haven't even been lurking this week b/c it has been crazy busy with work + dh out of town+ soccer camp+ house guests! I've been thinking of you and miss you all, though! I will try to totally catch up tomorrow.
The twins had their 9 month old blood work done today (I'm a little late). It was horrible. I couldn't help but think that it wasn't really necessary...I guess it will be reassuring, though, to hear that there is no lead in them and they have enough iron....
Really quick-- I LOVE the preggo pictures-Mindy (saw yours last week), Steph, Lisa). Thanks for posting. What HOT mamas there are on this site. How do you all look so good being SOOO pregnant with twins? It has been great to see.
Mindy- your post made me cry...you are so thoughtful and such a wonderful writer to express so eloquently how most of us feel.
Christel- I checked out the girls' b-day pictures-- looks like you did a great job!
Funny lists, too--my number one dislike is cleaning up after meals right now for sure!
Congrats to all those new walkers, steppers and crawlers! There have been some busy kids in the past week!:)
Alright, more later. Time for some sleep! Sweet dreams!:cloud9:

I was cracking up yesterday at all of your posts! Right now, I am trying to remember how funny all of you were because I am SO sick and tired and listening to my children fight their nap...I need some comic relief or I am going to explode in aggravation! :help: :banghead: :stress: GO TO SLEEP BABIES!!
Jen - Did they ***** their foot or actually take blood?
Staci - Where is Destin? Just curious...
Steph and Lisa - Your pg pics are beautiful!!! I may just post one, but I have to warn everyone, my stretch marks are YUCKY!
Kerrie - I am sorry you are having such a rough time right now with your Dad. You definitely need a day off...what about a pedicure or massage? You deserve some me time!
Staci - I agree, you should go over night to the party anyways. As long as you are at the lunch, that is good enough. Don't get me wrong, the gesture is very nice and thoughtful, however, they should have given you more time to plan...they act like you don't have twins and senior stuff to worry about!!
Monica - Hope you are back safe and sound. I do not remember, did you fly or drive? CONGRATS NATHAN!! :party2
Christel - How did you make that picture you put in your siggy? It is SO cute!
Steph - I am so sorry for your Sea World ordeal...however, picturing it did make me laugh. I hope you can laugh now that it is over!!
Lisa - I would LOVE to meet...when it gets closer, we can pick a day. I am not sure, though, that my two will be able to handle a 2 hour car ride and then all day in the stroller and then back in the car for another 2 hours. They are definitely going to need some move around time. BTW, I got your email, I promise to respond soon!
Things I LOVE:
1. When they play and laugh together like no one else is around
2. Getting them after a nap when they are standing in their cribs talking to each other
3. When they come and lay their heads on my lap, even if it is just for second, as if to say I love you.
4. The way they react when DH comes home...they just love him so much
5. Playing "games" with them (peek-a-boo, chasing them as they crawl, etc). I just love the way they understand so much now and can actually play with you sometimes.
Things I HATE:
1. Pulling hair, mine and theirs
2. Feeding times...Kayley just screams and yells and bangs her head against the chair...the only time she is quiet is when she is shoveling food in her mouth...IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!!! I felt bad today because I kind of yelled at her to stop and she started crying...I felt like such a terrible mom
3. Making formula
4. Washing bottles and my hands being so dry even though it is no longer winter
5. Cleaning up toys
Things I MISS
1. Babies lying on my chest and sleeping
2. Rocking them in the nursery
3. Their little newborn sounds
4. Holding them and them wanting to be held
5. Being able to hold both babies without feeling like one was going to fall down my hip.
Well, I think everyone FINALLY fell asleep. I have a TON of laundry to do.
34 weeks - 2 weeks before birth...I wish I would have taken a pic of my tummy right before they were born

Hey Everyone -
DH is home, except he's not. He had a speaking commitment tonight, so he was actually in the house for an hour and part of that was gettin' ready time. I'm cracking up b/c my phone has rung twice - him - and I could hear him lecturing in the background  He must be leaning against something and hitting redial on accident :snicker:
The babies did NOT want to eat real food today. I am so frustrated with feeding time. They suck down the milk in their bottles if they get those first and then pick at the food. If I feed them first and do milk 2nd, they're so mad and frustrated they cry and won't eat. :banghead: Just hoping tomorrow's better :xfingers:
Jen - Hope you get a little "me" time this weekend. It must be so crazy finding a new routine w/ going back to work and all.
Valerie - laughing that TMMB bleeped out "pr!ck" on your post  And I used www.storylife.com for the siggy background. SO easy (or I wouldn't do it, of course). I make it and then copy and save it to my desktop and then upload it to photobucket. I like that they have tons of layouts to choose. Also, so cute in your pg pic :throb:
Staci - have a blast at the party tomorrow! :tee: :harmony:
Joy - It's been an earmuff, iPod kinda day here, too. I feel ya'. I was being all loud back at them while I read them a story and it scared Emme and she started crying  I felt SO bad!
Gotta get started picking up the wreckage the babies left behind... toys, cheerios, food on the kitchen floor, bath toys and towels, empty bottles... What's the point, it'll just look like this again tomorrow.

Oh--- I don't know how I'll ever catch up with you all! This is my one break today because we are doing major yard work and house cleaning.
Val-- your lists were awesome. It's funny how those early days seem like years ago. Before we know it, the cleaning up yucky stuff off the floor, screaming nap times, and hair pulling will be well behind us as well.... I look at my 5 year old and can't believe how big he is. I get a little teary eyed thinking about rocking him in his nursery... DH says he knows that even though I say that I absolutely don't want anymore kids that I will ask him to adopt in about three years (he had a vasectomy and with all my fertility issues we wouldn't go that route again). I don't know, though-- I think that I will just live vicariously through all of my friends who are finally starting to get pregnant! My two sleep in the same room at night, but I've started separting them for naps. Isabella sleeps in the pack n play in either our room or the guest room just for nap time. They found that they were just keeping each other awake or one would wake up the other way too early. They both go right to sleep in separate rooms and sleep MUCH longer. It was so frustrating before! Love your preg picture--you were just cute as a button and so nice and small (for having twins!).
Oh, and the blood taking was the serious kind with a needle in their arm-two viles each! Ouch! They were so scared --probably more to being restrained than from the needle. I remember with DS they just pricked his finger....did anyone else have their babies blood drawn this way?? I'm wondering if this is unusual...
Christel--love your adorable ladybugs :) Sorry about the meal time stress. I wish that I had some good advice. I think it will just take time, but I know that doesn't help you right now! Could you do half a bottle before food to satisfy their sucking need, give solids, and then finish them off with the second half of the bottle?
Joy- did you surviving the screaming? Hopefully, DH is home to give you a break today.
Kris- it's great that Luke found a luvey-- it makes your job easier! I keep pushing the blankets, but my two don;t seem to care.
Lisa- my kids are "attached" to the binkies as well. I worry about it because then they won't have anything when the pacifiers go bye-bye. How did you get them to like the blankets...was it just be having them in the crib? I do that but it's not really working.
My daysitter, an unemployed teacher, called me yesterday and said that the only interview that she could get with a school district was on Tuesday (one of the two days that I work) so she can't get to the house until 10. DH is in Chicago. Ugh! So I called all around, and couldn't find another sitter available. A mom at Max's school had pity on me and offered to sit with the kids until our sitter, Amie, arrived. NOW, Amie called me and said she was offered another interview at 12:00 on Tuesday. :y: I told her that I absolutely had no one after 10 to watch the kids because my friend who volunteered has to leave by 11. I feel like I'm ruining her career, but I went out of my way to cover the morning and then she threw this on me.... I just hope she doesn't quit (I am counting on her through July). Really though, she only comes to our house 2 days! Do you think that was terrible of me? I would have to take the day off from my NEW job if she didn't come, though.... I am really not good at "managing" people. It makes me uncomfortable.
My brother is in a movie at the Cannes Film festival this year: http://www.myspace.com/onedayinjanuary . He plays the cheating boyfriend who gets shot. He is excited because it is hard to get films accepted. Just wanted to share because I'm proud of him-- he has been working so hard at this for years....
We have a real, live grownup party tonight for cinco de mayo!! :dancing: I am a little nervous b/c the only babysitter that I could find was our highschool neighbor. The children will be asleep for most of the time, though, so it should be alright.
I will be a on a mission to go back and read old post tomorrow to see what I missed. Hope all is well!!

Christel- Love the storylife site. I know that mealtime can be frustrating. Just hang in there today is another day. At least dh is home.:)
Valerie- You were so cute preggo!
Joy- Sending quiet vibes to you today! I know all too well about the noise level of twins, and they feed off of each other.
Staci-:clink: Enjoy your cinco de mayo! Have one for me!

I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got the 4th grade position at the school I wanted. I just got an email he actually asked if I was still interested. I guess he doesnt realize that he held part of my future in his hands :) We got our 3rd grade results in and my current school did horrible (all of Fl went down as a whole). We have 49% of our students are not reading on level. At the new school only 25% arent. Its the 3rd best school in the county. THe other 2 are in extremely wealthy areas. Thank you all so much for your encouragement.
Luckily I read his email before I posted because I had the day from H>LL. I hate that my dh works for DIsney. Everyone wants to go when they come down. I have been to Magic Kingdom 3-4 times in 3 months! I had to take the boys today because no one to watch them. We arrived at 9am and didnt leave until 9:30pm! I lost my purse with the only set of keys and didnt find out until we got to the parking lot! I only went on 1 ride the whole day. The rest I spent in the hot sun BYMYSELF with the boys. I was so furious.
Thank God for the good news. It made my horrible day GREAT!
Night.

Good Morning Mommies
Heather - Congratulation!!!! That is awesome news...
Okay, so you gals are going to think that I live my life in a constant state of drama but I really don't... it is people around me.. I see a problem, take care of it and drama is over... My family on the other hand are completely disfunctional..
So here is the latest... Just want you opinion.
I found out (from my bff and my sister's babysitter) Friday that my sister (who I don't know if I have mentioned is a total pill and pot head) used her step-daughter who is in junior high to procur some Xanex. Apparently the new hip thing is for kids to bring their medication or their parent's medication (that they have stolen) to school so they can trade or sell... So my sister asked her step-daughter to get her some Xanex... and she did. (#1, can you believe my sister told anyone about this?) So here is my problem... She crossed a line with me... I don't care if this girl is a hoodlim to begin with, my sister (using the term loosely) is using a minor to get drugs... The only problem is that I know the situation and if I turn my sister in to CPS for endangering my nephew with her addictions then I am leaving him in the hands of his father who is an alcoholic... If I didn't know the situation and that my nephew would be left in a worse situation, then I would turn her in without hesitation... My nephew is 3 and so does she plan on getting him to be her connection when he gets in school... AAAHHHH
Of course my sister called last night to tell me she went to a new church yesterday and how inspirational it was... How God is great and how he is everywhere... Yeah... In a bottle apparently... The day before she called to talked to me about my Dad (he is doing okay - stable) and I told her at that time that Daddy is going through a lot of change without anything to numb the reality (alcohol). She started talking about how alcohol is hard to give up and I said no I was talking about all types of numbing methods, pills, pot, alchol... She didn't get what I was trying to say.
What would you do? Right now I know that at least my bff has my nephew most of the time and so she can watch out for his well being... If I was to report my sister, I can't be sure that the father would continue to let my bff take care of my nephew...
All I know is that I get sit every time I think of how my nephew is being raised and the type of parent my sister is...

Congrats Heather!!!! That is wonderful!!!!
Kerrie, sorry you are in such a delima with your sister. I'm not sure what I'd do. At least your BFF can keep you in the loop and you can keep your eye on the situation.
We are finally home!!! It was so nice to sleep in my own bed last night!!! The trip went pretty well all things considered.
I know I've missed some people, and I've got more to share too, but I've got a ton of things to get done today.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!!!!!!!!!

'morning Mommies :sunshine:
A friend made me aware of a bib recall. Here are the details:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18441501/ The vinyl backed bibs were recalled for high lead content! Lead in baby bibs???? ugh! I had 3 bibs made by the maker (Hamco, inc.) but not the same brand (Baby Connection). I threw them away, anyway.
Kerrie - we have been a similar route w/ DH's sister in the past. His mom was there to step in, but CPS was involved before it was all over. I can share what I know about CPS in TX if you want some more info. I don't have much, but pm me if you want. Praying for that situation. I'm so sorry :pathead:
Monica - Welcome Home :yippee:
Jen - I'm so sorry for the babysitter angst. IMO, you're the employer, not her friend. It's not up to you to keep cutting her slack. If you could, you obviously would, but you can't. So, try not to lose any sleep over it. You have your own career to protect. And how cool about your brother in a film! What an incredible break for him!
Not much new here to report. We had a nice weekend w/ DH finally home. Got some errands run as a family. The girls like getting out so much more now. They love new people. The tricky thing is keeping the new people out of their faces  Ruby's made some progress in the last week w/ food and movements. I'm relieved. She's all about being spoon fed right now, so I went back to stage 3 foods and backed off the finger foods. Emme wants finger foods, so I spoon feed her inbetween her own bites. That way we're not taking forever to finish. Gonna go take a shower now... bye

GO HEATHER YOU ROCK! CONGRATS
Kerrie: I am so sorry you are stuck in this situation. My brother and ex are both addicts. It is a very frustrating thing for their loved ones. I actually went to a drug conselour to try and understand how a drug could make my ex such a selfish jerk who chose a high over his son. He explained that if you are not an addict you could never understand. The only way she will ever get help is to completely hit rock bottom. Very sad, on the other issue can you talk to the step daughter? Maybe have her hear from some authority figure that it is not cool?
Jen: I do not blame you for asking her to reschedule her interview, she has made a commitment to you for two days a week. You have shown you are and understanding person by working around her schedule for the 1st interview. If you are worried about her quiting just speak to her about it. Explain how much you depend on her those two days.
Christel: Thanks for the info on the bibs I am going to check my now. I am with you on keeping people out of their faces. A man at the grocery yesterday tried to tweak Isabelle's nose! (she was seating in the front of the cart) I jerked the cart away from him so fast I was afraid I gave her whiplash. I swear it still shocks the crap out of me when people think they can touch your babies!
The party we went to was great, they had several different types of margeritas, I think I sampled them all! They have a very large house, and my DH and I snuck into one of the rooms for a quickie! Tee hee, why is it more fun when you have to sneak???
I hope you all have a great week!

I have a quick question... I know some of you said that some of your babies had roseola. I think Brady has/had it this weekend. He had a high fever on Friday night, 103.7 that occurred suddenly, then a fever all weekend. Now he has no fever but a rash on the back of his ears and on his torso. I looked it up and it said roseola. I have a doc appt tomorrow but my question is, if one of them had it, will the other get it soon? Ethan was sick last week, low grade fever, runny nose and watering eye, but no rash. I am just wondering if I should expect Ethan to come down with it, too.
Thanks for your help! will check back later to respond to everyone else. I have to meet DH at Home Depot so we can finish landscaping.
Hugs,
Lisa
Megzackben
05-07-2007, 04:50 PM
Lisa-Meg had it around 1 1/2 yrs. She went back to daycare right after the fever broke and within a few hrs the rash came. Luckily none of the other children got it. But it is supposed to be contagious when the fever breaks and the rash occurs. I continued to give her motrin/tylenol until the rash went away. I think it took 5 days for the rash. I think Steph's boys got it recently. Poor Brady hopefully he feels better soon and that it doesnt spread.
Kerrie-I am so sorry. I have already called DCF 3x this year becasue I am required to but it is very frustrating becasue you cant see into the future. My mom was a foster parent while I was preg and it was so sad. Luckily he was able to have my family and not his for a year. Many many prayers!
Changing table-I have an old fashioned hand me down which I love in the living room. I use wicker baskets for all the essentials. Unfortunately the boys are eating the wicker and taking all the items out then climbing on the shelves. I know I need to get rid of it and use the dresser/changing table in their room. Where do you all change them? I like the living room incase someone is sleeping but I cant imagine a dresser in the living room? Plus I am becoming claustrophobic will all the toys, mats, tent etc. Someone posted recently that their dh says its like rodeo wrestling. I didnt do a top 10 but that might be my number 9!

Good evening mamas! Hope everyone is having a great start to their week. Not too much going on here. Lily did go to PT today. They did her scoring again and she is in the 5th percentile for her age in motor skills. She is still at a mild delay. She has the skills of a 7 1/2 month old. I got teary eyed when I heard this, but we just keep on doing what we're doing. She'll catch up eventually. I've been pretty depressed all day about this, but I'm trying to act like it doesn't bother me. It's my baby though, and I want her to be playing with her brother. Moving around and being active with him, and she can't.
Monica- Glad that you all made it home safe!
Kerrie- IMO you know what your doing. You've weighed the positives and negatives in this situation. You said your Bff watches your nephew most of the time. So he is safe in that enviroment. Just keep doing what your doing by keeping an eye on the situation.
Staci- Sounds like you had a great time at the party! Margaritas and a quickie what more could a woman want. It's the thought of getting caught that makes it better! Good for you.
Christel- I'm with you on going back to stage 3. Mine just want to be spoon fed too. Lily picks up more than her brother. If it's something he can pick up he won't most of the time. He wants me to feed it to him. How is it with them off of formula? Do you feel their getting enough? Doesn't Ruby have reflux? How is it being off of formula for her?
Well I have to watch Dancing with the Stars it's already started. I let it go awhile so I can fast forward through the commercials. I love Tivo!!!

hi friends... once again i've fallen behind and i don't think i'll ever catch up.
the girls are BOTH still asleep! i can't believe it. the one day i could be sleeping in, and the electrician is supposed to be here in about a half hour. oh well.
kerrie - i'm so sorry to hear about your sister and your nephew. frankly, i don't know what i would do if i were in your shoes. trust your heart.
christel - we're in the same spot here with feeding. maddie likes the spoon and izzy refuses to use it. one thing that has helped maddie recently is that i put towels in their highchair seats to boost them up a bit. our PT recommended it - says that almost all high chair trays are too high for little babies. i don't know if it's my imaginiation, but i do think maddie did better picking up food yesterday.
oops! i hear someone. well, gotta run. have a great day ladies. i miss you all terribly, but i've been busy here.

Thank you everyone, especially Christel for all the advice. I believe that I will just have to suck it up and talk to her about this. I am still torn but something has to be done.
Heather - This is what we use to change the boys. We have a travel changing pad that fits our ottaman perfectly. We have the diapers, wipes and creams in this roll cart that sits next to the couch. So when the boys need to be changed, we whip out the pad, put the boys down and bing, bang, boom.. they are changed. The boys' room is upstairs and the thought of taking them up and down the stairs just to change diapers wasn't something that appealed to DH and I. So this works great for us.
Kris - Lily is doing great... Think about how far you have come. We have the boys pictures on the wall going upstairs. Last night I took time to pause and look at each picture. I could not believe how far they have come. She is a trooper and is kicking butt... You are too! Just keep up the hard work.
Okay, I got slammed at work yesterday. 6 new jobs, 2 in progress jobs, monthly billing and a huge project researching printers in Ohio. So I have to get to work.. I am just having the hardest time concentrating... Wonder why?
Have a GREAT Tuesday

Hey Everyone,
I've got an appointment for the girls' re-evaluation w/ ECI. Next Tues. I'm so relieved to just have that scheduled.
Kerrie - best of luck w/ the sister and work. It always comes in waves, doesn't it? I like your changing area idea, too. We're using the top of their dresser, but I'm getting ready to replace it. It would probably be more convenient to move the supplies into the living room.
Andrea - that sucks about not getting to sleep in a bit! As far as finger foods go, Ruby's all about picking up and eating cheerios and puffs, but not regular food. Weird. We have the FP booster seat chairs that attach to your chair. The tray sits almost on top of their legs, so it's pretty low. I think the idea is that you quit using the tray when they get bigger and pull up to the table. I can see needing a towel to sit them up higher in a regular high chair, though. I'm glad that's helping!
Kris - it's been going really well being off formula. I'm giving them 3 bottles a day (6 oz each) and then meals. They're still sleeping through the night and taking naps the same length, so they must be getting enough to eat. Ruby hasn't had any problems, in fact, I'm decreasing her meds. I'm hoping that she's outgrowing this finally and we won't have to refill her Rx after these run out. Hang in there w/ Lily. She'll catch up in her own time. That's what I keep telling myself about my girls, too. I'm a little nervous about how I'll handle (emotionally) the ECI re-eval.
Heather - I hear you w/ the toy claustrophobia! They are closing in on me! Especially after the b-day. I need to weed through and get rid of some of the infant stuff that no longer applies. I've already sold one swing and a baby glider chair. The strollers take up so much space, too! DH can't seem to keep the garage clear enough for me to store the jogger (and get to it when I need it) out there. So it's in my living room. Ugghh!
Lisa - how is Brady today? Did you get a diagnosis?
Staci - the party and the sidetrip sound like a blast! It's true, about the maybe getting caught thing. DH always teases me about packing extra birth control when we go to my parents' house. And we usually need it! :snicker:
How did Chase's luncheon go?

Hello Mammas!!!
I have been lurking for a few days just couldn't get a free moment to post. I have missed alot of hot topics. :proud: No excuse really just busy with babies and trying to keep up with the daily stuff. Thinking of that schedule Kerri came up with is something I really need to do. It would be easier in the long run.
Top ten list most of you have created is so true. Hearing them makes me realize that so much time has passed when it really only seems like yesterday. Toddler days are approaching faster then I want them too. I know for me it's sad because my baby makin days are over. I will now become one of those moms that will need a baby fix now and again.
Changing station-Emily's crib and changing table is set up in DD#1 bedroom(She lives with her father and his parents) which originally was in the LR. We were overcome with too many toys and gadgets to keep in the LR. I keep a small basket in LR for quick changes when Em is sleeping.
Heather- Congrats to you!!!!! Your hard work has finally paid off.
Jen- We have never had bloodwork at any well check-up?? Ethan and Emily have benn separated since Feb. Emily is downstairs as I mentioned with DD#2 room across the hall. Ethan's crib is in our room. We just built this house almost 5 yrs ago had I known twins were in our future we would have built w 4 bdrooms.
Staci-Jealous of your party, margeritas and most of all your quickie!!! That is the only way we get it these days.:snicker:
Kerri- I don't have any words of wisdom for you just go with your heart as someone said. You have so much on your plate you amaze me.
Monica-:itsyourparty: Tell Nathan "Congrats on that new "toofer."
Andrea-I had that same senario not too long ago when they are still sleeping and I had to be up.
Kris-We know exactly how you feel on the delay issue. Just keep working with her, she'll come around. That's what everyone tells me but it's still hard. I beat myself up about Emily.
I know I missed some people but Ethan is hungry he didn't feel up to eating b-fast earlier. I hope to catch up some later. Have a great day Ladies!!!
oh Christel hope your under cover :hide: from the rain.

Christel: The luncheon went great. Our church is really amazing. They had an entire three ring binder full of letters that the members had written Chase. Everyone brought food, I could not beleive the spread! Next Sunday, Chase and another girl graduating this year, Anna, have to preach the sermon! It is going to be about Mothers. I think I will have to pack the entire diaper bag with kleenex!
Heather: We have a garage sale changing table in our bedroom, the changing pad on the dresser in their room AND we have a pad with wipes and diapers stored in the bonus room. (this is where we usually are) They are starting to get to long for the changing table in my room. They are soo tall! What type of diaper pails do all of you use? We have the diaper champ, and it sux! One stinky diaper and you have to take the whole bag out. I have started putting plastic grocery bags at the changing station for stinky ones, than we take them straight outside.
Andrea: Good to hear from you! It is hard to keep up with our crazy lifes sometimes!
Kris: Try not to worry, Lily is going to be fine. Babies develop at all different levels and it eventually all evens out as they get older. I think this is harder for a twin mommy b/c you have another one right there you cannot help comparing them too.
Aiden is walking everywhere now, it is soo funny, he looks like a drunk frankenstien, wobbling around with his arms outstreched in front of him! Isabelle is the mimic, she can say anything! She gets in these moods where she will mimic just about anything you say. She may never say the word again, but it is just too funny! Thing is, she still does not say mama dada at the right times. It makes me think she really does not know what she is saying, yet she say itty, when the cat walks in the room or Hewoa, (hello) when the phone rings. We come after the cat and the telephone!
Gotta get back to work!

I took Brady to the doc, he has roseola. $20 to make a diagnosis that I made on the computer last night. Oh well, better safe than sorry. Now we just have to ride it out.
Thanks to everyone who asked about him and for the advice.
Check back soon.

I have been a lurker because somehow my computer lost all the cookies and I just finally got my password reset --- it has been killing me to not be able to post...where to begin...
HEATHER CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!
I can't even remember what else everyone wrote my original long post I lost ...
Corey has the helmet and started to wear it over the weekend it is amazing he doesn't even seem to notice it is on his head ! Tonight is the first night he is wearing it so this may be a long night...he did fall asleep on his own but it doesn't look very comfortable !
We started to use teething tablets and I swear it is helping !
Corey sounds like Lily - he only scoots backwards and turns around while on his butt he does pull up to his knees and walks if you hold his fingers at his 1 month we are going to ask to have him evaluated...I just think that he will not crawl once he figures out how to walk that will be it for him...
Day care search is still underway and stressful - I am seeing another lady Monday really liked talking to here has been licensed for 21 years and she doesn't want to be at full capacity any more so it would just be my boys and 3 other little boys I like that atmosphere much better. would cost 260 a week for 3 days for both about average pricing - only 5 minutes from our house - I really hope the visit goes well.
I posted on Craig's list and had a ton of hits - lots of college student's with nanny experience with twins looking for extra money ...none match the times I need but great source of information highly recommend !
Steph/Kerrie - hope your dad's are doing better - you are both going through so much right now, I will keep you all in my prayers.
My boys still don't like the sippy cups ...ugh and I think some days they are trying to give up the 2nd nap they are definitely approaching another transition phase !
We have our RSVPs for the party coming in and boy it better be sunny or our little house will be busting at the seams !
Okay better run need to shower and take a few minutes to watch American Idol and unwind from the day..
I just found out I need to go to NYC next Tuesday for business - could be fun DH is watching the boys hoping for a nice train ride maybe I can actually read a book :proud:

Hello Everyone! It seems like the nicer the weather gets, the crazier and busier we get. We have things going on every weekend for like the next month and a half.
Missy- Corey is such a trooper!! You will all be stronger in the end because of all of this. I did not realize he had to wear it to bed. I hope he sleeps well!
Lisa - I hope Brady feels better soon...poor guy!! I also hope that Ethan does not get it! I would have took him, too!! Peace of mind is worth the $20!
Staci - I can't believe Aiden is walking so much! It sounds like he looks really cute when he does it! I was cracking up about your quickie story!! It is amazing what a margarita will do to you!! I can't wait to hear what Chase's sermon is about on Sunday. Is he nervous?
Joy - I started the chore list this week and so far, it is going much better then trying to cram everything into 1 day. However, if I do not have a chance to get that chore done, I get stressed out and have to do it before I go to bed...I am crazy, though!!
Christel - Keep us posted on the EI appt...whatever the outcome is, you are doing a fantastic job...your girls are happy and healthy!
Kerrie - I am sorry, but I do not have any advice for you on the sister situation. It sounds like you are able to keep an eye on him through your BFF, so that is good. I hope things look up for you soon!
Andrea - The babies always seem to sleep in when I have to get up!!
Kris - I think I may have forgot to tell you, but I LOVE your new pic of the babies...it is so precious! It truly looks like Luke is smiling! Try not to get down about your evaluation today...look at how far Lily has come since she was born...you are doing such a good job with them. She will catch up on her own time.
Monica - Welcome home!! Congrats on the tooth!
So, my daughter is driving me CRAZY at meal time. She yells, screams, bangs her body against her chair...it is the MOST AGGRAVATING time of my day. I have tried to ignore her, redirect her, tell her no, etc. I really hope it is a phase she is going through. Most of the time, she refuses to take anything off the spoon so I try and give her more finger foods. She shovels them in her mouth and then starts acting crazy again. All other times, she is a pretty sweet girl. I am at my wits end...I HATE meal time now.
The other thing that is driving me crazy is how much they fight now. They are constantly pulling each other's hair, taking toys from each other, etc. Is anyone else having this problem?
I was wondering what everyone was doing for sunscreen on the babies' heads. I have tried sun hats and Corey immediately pulls his and Kayley's off. I have put sunscreen on their hair, but it is very difficult to rub it into their scalp. BTW, I am obsessed with sun burn...I have had problems and now I have to see a dermatologist for mole checks once a year.
Changing tables - We have 3 floors in our home and have a changing station on each floor. We use the dresser/changing table in their room for that floor. On our first floor, we have a hand me down changing table in our spare bedroom. In the basement, we use the changing table attached to our pack n play.
Well, I better go...I am trying to watch the Cavs in the playoffs while I type. Have a great night ladies!

Alright, my mission to catch up has failed! Sorry if I've missed important things!
But, Heather-- I could NOT MISS your good news. :yippee: CONGRATULATIONS!!:congrats: How fabulous.
Lisa- Feel better, Brady!! Sounds like no fun--- I hope Brady keeps it to himself!
Christel- that is great that Ruby is eating up the Stage 3's. You're doing the perfect thing to back off with the finger foods and let her get comfortable and enjoy her meals. She'll move on to finger foods before you know it now. Great news for the reflux, too. Mason is finally done puking-what a relief-- he only does it now with eggs so we're steering clear of them for a while.
Joy- I was laughing at your story of buying your house before knowing about the twins...we did the same thing and we certainly would have shopped for some extra room if we had known! I am feeling engulfed in children's toys, feeding gear, furniture, etc!:help:
Andrea- good to hear from you! How do babies always know to sleep in when you can't ....happens all the time here. The girls look BEAUTIFUL in their sunhats...already so stylish!
Staci- We celebrated cinco de mayo, too, but it wasn't as exciting as yours!!That's awesome! The luncheon for Chase sounds wonderful....you have so many emotional things going on right now...babies' first year ....DS leaving the nest... Isabelle is so verbal!! That is very advanced. I can't get my kids to say boo! I do speech therapy and oral motor on them all the time, too. DS was a late talker...figures!
Kris-sorry about the news for Lily...i agree that she'll even out with her brother eventually, and you are doing everything you can for her, but I can imagine how hard it is right now...you just want the best, easiest, happiest route for your kids. You are doing such a great job, though, and that will mean the world to her!
Missy-Corey is such a great kid. And a tough one to not cry for his fitting and then adjusting to it so well. :pathead: I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works well (and quickly) for him.
Val-Your new photos are so sweet. Isn't it great to get outside?? I was thinking about you yesterday as I was bathing the twins (Mason was NOT into it...hopefully just a one night thing). How is bathing going in your house? Any progress?
Monica--Your photos are gorgeous, too. DD is a covergirl. Welcome home! Even after a great vacation it is always the best feeling to get back in your own bed.
Kerrie--I don't have any good advice. It sounds like a terrible position to be in. Your poor little nephew--thank goodness he has you looking out for him.
Changing Diapers- I stopped using the changing table weeks and weeks ago...they were just too big and wiggley. I just pull out the changing mat upstairs and downstairs and put it on the floor. It is like roping cattle to change diapers and clothes these days.
Well, my babysitter did show up today (This is after she asked me if she could bring the kids to HER MOTHER'S HOUSE--I don't know her mother and have never been to her house, and his sitter was in a car accident 2 weeks ago so I said absolutely NOT). Poor Mason freaked out, though. He didn't know the woman who watched him this morning. She put him down for his morning nap and when he woke up the sitter, Amie, was there. Amie said he cried for 45 minutes...he is so sensitive.
DH is in Chicago AGAIN. He is traveling all the time now...he promises it will stop in July. I have to say, though, that I am getting really good at handling the three kids alone through the afternoon, dinner, baths, bedtimes, etc...Max and I have our "when daddy's out of town" ritual. I feed the babies their bottles at the same time now (sitting on the floor), sing a couple lullabies, and into the cribs they go. They are great at bedtime--they just play for 5 or 10 minutes and then fall asleep. When I think back to being alone with all three in the early days when Mason had colic and they woke up all the time, I am amazed at how far they've come (and also that other people can step in and care for them on their schedule). It sure has its moments, but this twin business has better.
Okay- I am actually trying to go to bed tonight before 11:30 so off I go to clean up and do laundry. So fun!
Jen :)

Hi. Okay boys birthday is in a few weeks and I have NO clue as to what to do. I am a little bumbed because I think it will be the total opposite of Daniele (no I don't wish for yours sorry). I think it will be only my immediate family. MIL has booked a trip to Canada for that time. I think it will be too hot for a playgroud party, my house is very small. Any suggestions?
BEN IS WALKING TOOO!!!!!!!!!! He seems to enjoy it much more than Zack. Zack is so easily frustrated nowadays. Ben is now my happy go lucky alwasy smiling. I have both on video (got a new camera) but when I tried to install the camera cd it didnt work so it maybe a little bit before I can post it.
8 more school days left (not that I am counting :snicker: ) First year I am not retaining anyone. Eventhough 4-5 should be. Out of 18 reg ed students I have, only 5 are on grade level! I am not going to know what to do with myself next year if most of my class is on grade level!

Heather - Our Ben's can go walking together now while our Zack/hs can crawl along...
We are planning on taking the boys to the zoo for their birthdays. We won't be having a formal party because the only family in town is my DH's mother and aunt. The boys have never been to the zoo and we thought that would be fun for them...
Okay I am sitting here listening to our Shareholder's Annual Meeting... Our shareholders are crazy... literally...
Hope everyone is having a great day..

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!
Just got home from the doctors again(2nd time this week) Ethan has pink eye and another double ear infection. I am so tired of him being so irritable I question myself all the time whether it is his ears or teething??? If his eyes wouldn't have gotten the way they are I probably would have never taken him today. He has yet run a fever w ear infection so I never know??? I found out today that it only takes 3 hrs for an ear infection to develop.
Heather- I need to get my a$$ in gear too and get invitations made and sent out. I think we are just going to have a BBQ:eating: at home with family and a few friends. What about a Chuckie Cheese or a bowling alley or some other place w air conditioning?
Kerri-The zoo idea sounds good too.:elefant:
Jen- I too do alot of the day to day stuff solo. DH is pretty much gone M-F 4 am to 7pm. Somedays I am so burnt out.:speechless:
Valerie-Sunblock? DH uses stuff that is a constant spray like an aerosal can??
He sprays it in his hair. E & E don't have much hair so it is easy to rub in the regular kind. Ethan is the one here that over powers Emily (daily) she is not mobile and he crawls on top of her. He also likes to grab at hwer eyes. She has gotten mad and scratched him and he cries like a big baby.
Missy-Glad to hear Corey has adjusted so well to the helmet. How did he do last night? Can I go to NYC with you?:snicker:
Gotto run and make something good for dinner.
Love ya- Joy

Corey did really well last night around 3am he started to fuss so we took it off to give a break since it was the first night - He slept on his belly the rest of the night so there was no pressure on his head - he is doing so good we are so proud of him.
Tyler puked tonight UGH he has a habit of eating to much and then BLEEEH all over the place...
Hope the sleep well tonight - work is so crazy I have to take them with me Friday because I have some big meetings (presenting to the CEO)...
NYC trip scheduled not sure how relaxing - have to visit 2 vendors but at least I can close my eyes on the train !!
Okay off to shower and bed.

Mindy, Steph, Daniele....WHERE ARE YOU??????? I miss you guys!
Okay, I am going to attempt to catch up. I have the cold from Hell! I have been sick all week. I am at the cough phase of the cold. It sucks! I have been trying to get everything ready for the party next week. I finished planting flowers yesterday during nap time. Today I am off to the mall and Target. I swear, I am always on the go. Brady is feeling better. No more fever but he is soooo cranky. He will fall on the floor for no reason and just cry. I think he is getting his eye teeth. He keeps holding his mouth. Poor guy.
Buying house before twins were born: Check! We bought our house, then I found out I was pregnant, then we found out twins! If we would have known that, we definitely would have bought a bigger house. We consider this our "starter house". It's only about 1400-1500 sq. feet. We don't even have a dining room, just a huge eat in kitchen. So, we definitely want to move in the next couple years. We finished our basement which gives us more room. But our bedrooms are sooo tiny. We have been looking at new developments. I think I posted a while ago that we may have found our dream home. Well, dh wants more land so we are holding off to find another place. I guess there is no rush. I really like our house.
Pulling hair and constant fighting: Check, Check!! It's sooooo annoying. THey won't stop fighting. They used to play so well together, used to laugh at each other all the time. Now they pull hair, ears, face, anything they can get their chubby fingers on and they really hurt each other. Then they steal toys from each other. I hope it's a phase b/c I am starting to think they don't like each other.
Birthday party: We are having about 12-15 people (all family) over to our house. It's mostly dh's family. My family lives about 4 hours away so only my mom, dad, and aunt are coming. My brother and SIL are still in Germany until the end of June. But I talked to my SIL the other day and she and my nieces are going to fly to our house when they get home and spend the week. I am so excited to see them. I really miss them. Back to the party, we are going to grill and have typical pinic/party food. I bought Elmo party supplies. I still need to buy presents for the boys.
Well, babies are whining for the breakfast so I better run. Sorry not to respond to everyone individually but I am reading posts everyday and am thinking about all of you. Hope you are all having a good day.
Love,
Lisa
PS.. Val, I emailed you back.

Today is the first day this week I don't have to get the girls out for errands. I'm so relieved! It is exhausting. I try to get it done between naps and it is a mad dash for the finish line. We've done it so much that now when I put them in the stroller, they immediately reach for the snack cup holder and then start looking around for their bottle or sippy :D
And a huge sigh of relief b/c I finally found a dress for my sister's wedding (in 3 weeks!). It's snug now, but 3 more weeks of South Beach and it ought to fit great. That's all the motivation I need. Our schedule is insane between now and then, too, so who has time to eat. I have meetings for work and for a state convention committee I'm on twice a week at least between now and then. The girls have their 1 yr. check up tomorrow. Also, DH and I decided last night that we would step up and bail out my sister. She's graduating from college in D.C. and is freaking out about how to get moved back to TX. My parents are not the best planners and are stressing her even more. DH is going to fly there, rent a truck, load up her stuff and drive back with her. She cried when we told her he would do that. This closes the circle. He moved me out of my dorms in college. Moved my next 2 sisters (who went to the same school - and we stayed there and worked there for a few years). And now, Kak. He should be off the hook until our girls go to school
Prayers - please keep the triplet family (remember the video) with Lily in your prayers. I went over last night to help clean. Lily just breaks your heart. Her brothers are crawling everywhere and babbling (7 1/2 mo.) and she reminds me of my babies during the NICU days. She was fine until 2 mo. ago  Because of the damage to her brain she's unable to see and only has 10% hearing. She's got a g-tube to eat. She can't deal with a swing or vibrating chair. A bouncy only works for a while. So, she gets held almost all the time. I held her for about an hour while her mom just spent time w/ the other kids (she has a 2 1/2 yr. old, too). She's already better than the dr. said she could get. I don't know what the future holds for them, but I'm praying for a miracle. I cried most of the way home and then went to hold my babies.
I'll try to get on later and respond to your posts. My shower window is closing :snicker:

:itsme: Back to finish up...
Joy - I so get the baby fix thing now! At a cookout last weekend a friend had her 7 wk baby out. I could have just gobbled her up. SO sweet and tiny and precious. It just goes so fast and w/ twins, you're barely conscience and don't really get to enjoy that stage :( And lots of get well wishes for your babies.
Staci - I can't wait to hear about Chase's sermon. How cool is that for you! Also, we have a Diaper Champ. Pee-yew! I still hear it's better than a D. Genie. I've been dumping baking soda in the trash bags each time we put a new one on. It helps some. I also Lysol it like crazy.
Lisa - I HATE the cough part of a cold. I would rather throw up than have a cough. It's miserable, especially at night. Get well vibes for you, too!
Missy - we are lovin' the teething tablets, too. They really do help for a little while. I use them at nap time if they're particularly miserable. Have a safe trip to NYC :)
Valerie - I'm right there w/ you hating meal time. Ruby's been giving me fits the last few days. She seals up her mouth, pooches out her lips and puffs up her cheeks and just sits there giving me the "eye of the tiger" (as DH puts it). Then, when she does open her mouth, it's to scream down the neighborhood. Mary Elizabeth is enthusiastic, too much so, she bounces up and down so hard that the chair starts to scoot. Have you ever tried to feed a hopping baby w/ a spoon. Yeah, it's in her eye, nose, ear, hair.... Ugghh!
Jen- my DH has promised that the travel will lighten up after the summer, too. I'll believe it when I see it. We've got our system down, too. I do pretty well up to 4 days alone and then are start to go a little crazy
Heather - maybe a pizza place w/ lots of air conditioning for the party? Just check and make sure they let you bring your own cake in. And :woo: for Ben!
Kerrie - I love the zoo b-day idea  Your guys will love that! Take lots of pictures.
Jill - ya reading? I miss seeing Noah and TJ in your siggy :)
Danielle, Steph and Mindy - y'all ok?
So, Ruby's sick again. She's thrown up 3 times in the last 24 hours and ran a low grade fever last night and has runny diapers. Do you think she'll still be able to get her shots for her 1 yr. check up? I don't want to reschedule that visit again. I'm going to give them a call.

Lisa-I lived over there from Dec 88-Nov 92. My XH was there 10 months before me. Yes, He was in the Army.We lived in a few different towns but in the same area. His Army base was in Illeshiem (a very, very, small town)which I think is South of Frankfurt?? The closest larger town to us was Nurnburg. (sp) It was beautiful over there and very interesting to see a different way of living. Germany I thought is very much like PA lots of pine trees/forests and even some mountains. The townspeople are very friendly and you will not see a bit of liter on the ground. They are mostly farmers but they don't live on their land you see miles of fields and then a large cluster of houses. Most homes have no yard which I thought was weird. We didn't get to sight see very much my XH was only a Private (E-2 rank) so his pay was not the greatest. We did alot of driving around with extra gas in the trunk.
I was stuck over their for Desert Storm -XH left about two weeks before DD#1 was born and one day before Christmas. He finallly got to come home when she was 5 months old. It sucked being over there with no family and a newborn.
It was nice that your brother got to take his family with him and your nieces were not in school yet. So they could be together while he was there. I didn't know they had a Euro Disney. I hope they got to try a some good German food. You'll have to tell your brother to eat some brotchen (homemade bread)for me and drink a spetze. (which is a coke/iced tea drink) I so miss the food. Germans sure know how to eat and DRINK BEER!!! Anyways I could go on and on. So I'll stop now.
Christel-I hate when the shower window closes to soon.:snicker: Those triplets are always on my mind and in my prayers. I cry just hearing you talk about them. God love and BLess you for going to help them when you have your own things to do. Your such a SUPER MOM!!!

Hello again.
Christel-like Joy, I think about those triplets often. It is such a sad story and I wish that I lived in Austin so that I could go hold Lily for a while. That poor, poor girl. You are so kind and generous to help them with the chaos life holds with twins. I can understand how important it is , though.... I am so saddened for Lily, but thankful that the boys are doing well. Earlier it sounded like at least one of them was pretty bad off....
Joy- that was such an interesting story about your time in Germany. I think that would be very tough to be a first time mom in a foreign country with no spouse around. Even though your DH is gone frequently, you must feel very capable of taking care of everyone (even with the occasional burnout). You are a strong lady!
Lisa- I love the pic of the boys in the Pottery Barn chairs. We have one for Max, and the twins LOVE it. I think a chair for each will be their present this year.
Heather- Congrats to Ben !!!! Yeah!!
Question--Can babies be allergic to the sun? Mason keeps breaking out in a rash whenever we're outside and I'm not sure what it is....he gets little red bumps all over his face. I don't want to put sunblock on the rash and he won't keep a sun hat on.
okay it's kiddie bedtime--

Haven't been around for quite a while. Busy with yucky colds, dh being out of town and then getting back after 9 days, and TJ's scan today. Turns out that out of all possible scenarios of what the surgeons could have found, she has the best one!! I am SO relieved. Her 1st of 2 surgeries will be more than likely mid-June. The second will be end of July/early August. So that's a big PHEW!
I feel awful as I have not had more than a few minutes here/there so I haven't had time to keep up on posts, read them ,etc. I'll work on that tomorrow I hope.
Real quick... continued prayers for Daniele's grandma and your family, Kerrie's dad and your family, as well as Steph (hand) your dad, and your family.
Will get caught up tomorrow!
Oh, I saw a congrats Ben so I assume there's some walking going on there! I'll have to read up on that!
Night mamas!!

Hey Mamas! What does everyone have planned for Mother's Day? My mom, sister, her 2 boys, Luke, Lily, and myself are all going to the zoo. We're going to start a tradition and go every year on Mother's Day. I'm so excited for L&L's 1st trip to the zoo. Also there are 3 new polor bear cubs at the zoo this year(1 single male & twin females). There are only 4 polor bears cubs in captivity in the US and our zoo has 3.
Well Lily has made a lot of progress this week. I have been giving her PT 3x daily for 20 minutes. It's hard to fit it into our day, but necessary. I usually worked with her 2x for 15 minutes, and then just general things as she played. This is helping move her along faster. I see a difference in just 4 days. I'm trying to stay in a positive place about her development. I know in 6mos.-1yr. this will all be a distant memory and that helps. Then Luke comes over and in one swoop knocks her over and she is helpless because she can't get up on her own. Thanks for all your words of encouragement it means a lot.
Christel- I hope that Ruby isn't getting too sick. Keeping my fingers crossed that it was just a 1 day thing. I think about the triplets and Lily all the time. I wish there was something I could do for them. The video you linked of them was so touching and it is set to Lullaby by the Dixie Chicks which I have sung to my babies since birth. It's their favorite!
Jen- I don't know if a baby can be allergic to the sun. I went on the askdrsears website and it did not say anything about sun allergies. Maybe your pedi could help find the problem. Good Luck.
Well I wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day in advance!!!!

Kris: Great news on Lily's development! No plans for Mother's Day, I cannot wait to hear Chase's sermon though!
Jill: I am glad all went well with TJ's surgery! That has to be so scary, what is the recovery for her like? I hope everyone gets well soon in your house.
Jen: Do you think it could be a heat rash?
Below is a link to prom pics and one of Isabelles "bad hair day"

Staci, GREAT prom pictures!! I love the 'older' guys shooting pool while there is a baby pop-up type toy in the background. What a contrast! I also LOVE Isabelle's crazy hair day! She is just a beauty!! Most hair days are like that around here. I don't do much with them and their hair. I have actually given Noah 3 haircuts already. The boy has crazy Kramer hair! Any way, WONDERFUL pictures all around. Thank you for sharing them! Handsome son there too!

Hey everyone
We did have the girls 12 mo. check up today. Ruby seems to be on the mend from her little fever/vomit bug, so they went ahead with the well check up. Ruby is 17lbs 6oz and 28 1/4 in. Mary Elizabeth is 23lbs 4oz and 30in. They are holding steady in their percentiles and the pedi said I can continue to "fatten up" Ruby's food. They got 2 shots each and that was traumatic for a little while, but they were cool by the time we checked out. Oh, and Em managed to vomit in the exam room on my shoe and the carpet. But, neither girl was running a fever and everything checked out well, so we'll just hang in there.
Mother's Day - we're going out to brunch tomorrow and then church on Sunday. I'm getting a combo gift (my b-day is on Wed.)... a Dyson dc-17 :woo: Never never thought I'd be that excited over a vacuum, but I am
Hoping that DH doesn't think that lets him off the hook for flowers, though.
Prayers for Lily - thank you all so much. Her mom, Kathryn, said I could share her care page with people. That's where she posts updates. Here's the link (www.carepages.com). You'll need to register (just email and name info) and the password is LilyMathis (no spaces).
Joy - I can't even imagine being away from home, out of the country, with DH gone AND having a new baby! WOW you are amazing! No wonder you seem so calm w/ your twins all the time ;)
Jen - I've heard about allergies to cold - like skin breaking out in rashes or hives - but not sun. Could it have been a heat rash? Ruby has really fair skin and it shows everything (poor baby will never be able to be privately embarrassed). When she's outside in the wind the skin around her eyes gets red and blotchy. Maybe it's something like that??
Jill - what wonderful news on TJ! I'm so relieved for you all. What kind of recovery will she have to deal with after the surgeries. And was she sedated at all for her scan today?
Lisa - :snicker: laughing about the cat food...sorry. When I was at the triplets house, Coy (the baby that was dropped and had the head stitches) was trying his dam#dest to get into the dog's food. He was obsessed! Kathryn said that he got a taste once and thinks he HAS to have more. Watch out.
Kris - the zoo trip tradition for Mom's day sounds perfect! What a great idea. for Lily and her progress! You're doing an amazing job with her.
Staci - Love Love the pics! Isabelle is such a darling :throb: and Chase is gorgeous (and has your smile!). Is his prom date a steady girlfriend? She's a cutie. Oh, I love your dining room and deck, too!
MIA Mommies... y'all ok? Miss you

Christel, TJ's first surgery will be a few hours and then she'll stay in the hospital I believe 3 days. Her second surgery will take place 6-8 weeks later after the opening has completely healed. She will also be in the hospital for several days. For her scan on Thursday, she was put under. The anesthesiologist was the same from her Dec. scan and did a great job of giving her just enough sleepy meds. She woke fairly soon after getting to the recovery room and we were on our way home! It's scary to really think about the whole process but she is in great hands. Sounds as if the girls are doing great with their growth/development. Glad they are getting over the colds too. Hate the shots! We had to get blood drawn due to low iron levels from the blood stick in our ped's office. We have to go to a different lab as the one we first went to couldn't get a vein for Noah. Poor guy was NOT happy. Continuing to keep Lily and her family in my prayers. What a remarkable little girl/family!
Heather, CONGRATS from one teacher to another! Nothing better than getting a position you are excited about! You did it!!!
Kris, keep up the great work with Lily. You are right, in a few years, there will be no difference! It is amazing how when they are ready for new skills, they just happen. You should be very proud of your little cutie as well as your own tenacity!
Does anyone else's kids love bubbles?? Mine go crazy! They both make a 'pop' 'pop' 'pop' noise. It's great!
Lisa, TOO funny re: cat food. :snicker:
Hope that everyone gets to enjoy some nice spring weather this weekend!! Enjoy mamas!!

We don't have any real plans for Mother's Day. I will be seeing my Mom later today thay are about an hour away DH is going to help my father put in a window and siding on their house:) She usually never has a weekend off she is an LPN at a nursing home. She hasn't seen the twins since Mar.
Anyways, we are off to Ildewild Park today. It is a nice family oriented park with rides and a huge water area but the rides and the water park are not open yet. It is only 3 miles from homed. Jumping Jungle and Storybook Forest are open. Our State Rep. Jess Stairs is sponsering a family day and it is FREE!!! There is too be face painting and crafts along w Gruff the Crime Dog,Somkey the Bear, fire truck, polise cruiser and a chance to get finger printed. DD#2 has no idea we are going. She will be surprised but not too happy either because the rest of the park is closed.
I wanted to respond to all of you but Ethan is crying for some reason. So I'll have to catch up later.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

Hi everyone!
I'm still alive and kicking. Just busy as usual. My mom was here all last week which was awesome. We had a wonderful time and the help was so appreciated.
Boys are doing well. They are sleeping from 6-7pm to 5:30-6am. They each have a molar and both incisors are about to emerge as well. We've been dealing with runny noses for like 2 weeks now and some days it seems like it's finally going away and then the next day it's back. Who knows. I've been doing Benadryl and Tylenol cold, just in case it's not allergy related. None of it seems to help really, so I don't give it very often.
Food: For breakfast it's either scrambled eggs w/cheese or yogurt and cereal or Kashi Go Lean blueberry waffles and kiwi or whole wheat pancakes and blueberries. For lunch, it's usually a graduates pasta pick-ups or a cream cheese and turkey sandwich or, if we're out, whatever I can find! Wendy's has a kids menu with a turkey sandwich and yogurt...they love that. Both boths are drinking organic whole milk mixed with formula (not every bottle tho...only once or twice a day do I 'spike' it) Otherwise I offer them sippy cups throughout the day with either an apple juice/water mix OR whole milk. Dinner is anything from fish sticks to tofu cubes (LOVE that) or golden potatoes with garlic pepper and butter or turkey dogs or edamame or chicken or pasta or whatever. They LOVE jello and I cut it up in cubes and they giggle when they eat it. GODSEND: stainless steel pizza wheel. I use mine every single day for cutting up their foods. It is SO easy and fast.
Dad: his next appt is May 25th at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Right now, it's pretty calm in that department.
Hand: angiogram went well last week, but dr. still doesn't know what the mass is. So, surgery is a go ahead and I'm waiting for them to call me to schedule it. Probably end of this month/beginning of June.
Birthdays: (Happy Birthday Christel!!) E&B turn 1 on May 31st. We are just going to do a little get together of just the grandparents, us and our friends and their 1 year old daughter. I'll get them a little 'smash cake' and I'll do a little 'monkeys swinging from vines' theme. (we call them our monkeys all the time) My mom got them a Step 2 playhouse with a little door and doorbell. http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1308&stp2ssid=806436D6-1143-E489-2D97F1BEBC303253They already got to play in it for testing purposes and the loved it. But it's hidden now until the actual birthday. Also, my in laws are getting them the Step 2 Safari Wagon.....real cute. Has a canopy and seatbelts, little cupholders, etc. http://www.step2.com/product.cfm?product_id=1370&stp2ssid=806436D6-1143-E489-2D97F1BEBC303253
The boys are napping and so I better do the same. So tired this morning!
I miss all of you!! Sounds like things are going really well for all you guys.....Jill, I'm SO happy to hear about TJ's scan. Bless that little girl...she is precious.
Christel, the ladybug pics are adorable...what a fun day you had!
Lisa, the cat food thing has happened here too....only GET THIS: It was cat food that had been thrown up!! Yoshi (the cat) has bulimia I swear and he always upchucks after eating. Well, I didn't see this one area and Evan got to it. He had a piece in his mouth!! GROSS! I managed to get it out, but I couldn't believe it. ALSO, yesterday I found both boys standing at the guest bathroom toilet, covered in water splashing and having a grand ole time with the toilet water!! ANOTHER GROSS! I slathered their arms and hands in sanitizer. My boys are TRULY boys.
Need to run....I'll try to post some more later.
hugs!

What do you they have you doing for Lily - Corey is still delayed when we go to the Dr next 6/1 we are going to ask for PT - but if you could share in the meantime maybe that will help expedite.
Thanks enjoy the zoo - sounds fun - I am on my own Sunday DH working !

I am not sure who posted this, but I believe someone was asking about sunscreen for the head/scalp? I found "Baby Blanket Tender Scalps Sunblock Spray". It's easy to just spray on and go! I also came across an ad for Banana Boat. They now have a lotion version that sand will not stick to. Some new "powder-dri" technology. Sprays and the continuous mists seem to be a good idea. I originally bought some lotions but poor Noah with his darker skin looks funny with the lotion tinge. Better safe than sorry!! Especially with our family history.
To piggy back on to Steph's food lists, my kids LOVE brown rice with cheddar cheese and butter mixed in. Easy to pick up too!

Boys are taking the afternoon nap - so I am taking a break from cleaning - plan to vacuum when they wake-up
Corey is doing awesome with this helmet - he is even sleeping through the night with it !!! First 2-3 nights he was restless so we would take it off around 3 or 5am but last night he slept all night with it (oh yeah and cut his 2nd tooth). We go for his follow-up on Monday am - we are all going to the appointment - GREAT NEWS the $3,000 for the helmet was covered !
Funny story, It is so beautiful today I decided to take the boys out on a blanket with bare feet to enjoy the grass etc. Well Tyler SCREAMED when the grass touched his feet climbed up me like a tree and cut off my air supply hugging so tight - meanwhile Corey was eating clovers ! so we only stayed out for 20 minutes....hopefully he gets over the fear of the grass or this could be a long summer !!!
Pray for good weather on 5/27 - all the relatives invited to the party accepted - I was counting on only 50% coming our house is small but we have an awesome yard ...so we better be blessed with good weather !
Steph - Thanks for the great recipe ideas - lunch today for us was Homemade Mac and Cheese - green beans & chicken from a can - they seemed to like it ! I still struggle with how much to feed them - Corey will stop eating Tyler will eat till he throws up !
Mac-N-Cheese Recipe -2 cups uncooked whole grain rotini (cook)
dash of mustard powder
dash of lemon pepper
dash of salt/pepper
2 cups shredded cheese (1 bag)
3 cups milk
Mix cooked pasta and dry ingredients - add milk stir well 325 for 30 minutes.
THEY LOVE IT !
Okay ladies I am going to stretch out on the couch for a few minutes !

Hope eveyone is enjoying the weekend. The weather here is gorgeous. DH & I are about to take the twins for a walk, but wanted to check in first.
Staci- Love the prom pics. Takes me back to that time in my life!!!
Christel- Glad the 1yr. checkup went well. Sounds like the girls are doing great!!!!
Jill- I feed the same veggies all the time too. Green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, avocado, and squash. My mom says she fed us the same few things all the time.
Joy- Your day at the park sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear how it went.
Steph- Glad the boys are doing so well. You and your family are still in my thoughts. I'm so happy that your mom got to spend the week with you all. That sounds like my relationship with my mom. She is always there for me and we are so close.
Lisa- The cat food story was funny!!! Boys will be boys. It's the Toledo Zoo. Only about 15 minutes from my house.
Missy- I can email you detailed instructions on what I do with Lily or I can video tape(DVD) it and send it to you. Let me know.
Well it's time for our walk.

It has been FOREVER since I have posted. There is no way I am going to catch up with everyone, but I will try my best.
Christel - You are such a wonderful person for helping the triplet family. I will keep them in my prayers. I just got the Dyson DC17 Animal...I LOVE IT!!! You will be disgusted at how much crap is on your floor. I truly thought I was clean until I vacuumed with it!!! Amazing!
Missy - That is great about the helmet being covered...and your Corey sure is one tough guy!! Our party is on the 27th, too. Our house is also small so I pray for good weather.
Lisa - I was laughing about the cat food. I got your email, I just have not had time to write back yet. I promise I will soon!! I was hoping the cards would take a few more days to get there...sorry they were so early!
Staci - Those pics were great! Everyone looks so nice. Is that Chase's girlfriend? Or are they just friends? I was also laughing at the pool table with the baby toy in the background.
Jill - TJ is such a trooper! Keep us posted on her surgery. When she is in the hospital, how do they get her to stay in the bed without wanting to play and move around?
Joy - I cannot believe you lived all by yourself with a newborn! You are one strong mamma!!
Steph - I am glad you had such a nice time with your mom. How long will the hand surgery recovery be?
Baths -I know someone asked how they were going...I totally forgot who. I am so sorry!! They are going TERRIBLE. We took a 3 week break from the tub, Corey took showers with DH. He was ok when he went back, as long as it was fast. We took them swimming for the first time last week and it took Corey a LONG time to get warmed up, then he was fine. That night, we gave them baths and he started all over again with the fear. It breaks my heart. I just do not know what else to do. It stresses me out so much I cannot even begin to describe it. Being afraid of the water is such a terrible thing for a child. I asked my ped's nurse and she just said he should grow out of it. I am at a lost! I realize that there are much worse things that could be happening, but I feel helpless!
As for swimming, Kayley LOVED it!! She loved her float...she even went under the water with DH. I think she is going to be a swimmer!
DH had flowers sent to me today from the twins...they are beautiful!! I was so surprised!!
Kayley does the cutest thing now...she opens up this book of baby faces and pretends to read it to us...it is so funny!!
For Mother's Day, I just want to spend time with my twins and DH. We have been so busy lately that I feel like we have not had time to breath I just want to relax!!!
Just in case I do not have time to post tomorrow, I wish all of you the most wonderful day tomorrow! You are the strongest mothers I know! Happy Mother's Day!
Well, I better go. I am exhausted. Sorry to all of you that I missed.

Hey Mommies :hello:
DH, the girls and I went to brunch today. It was good, fun, but not relaxing. I felt like I was trying to wrestle with an octopus while trying to enjoy my mimosa and food. Emme was out of sorts and Ruby was making eyes at all of the wait staff and patrons. We had a constant flow of people coming by the table to comment on the girls. Apparently, Ruby invited them all over. Of all the things people said (and everyone was nice) the best comment was a simple, "Oh Wow, Congratulations" and then the guy moved on. Perfect. I will use that in the future.
DH had to work today and he took a couple of hours off to meet for brunch. He came home for a few hours to help get the girls settled for the night and then is back at the office. Poor baby :( He is leaving tomorrow night for a fast 24 hr. trip. He swears he'll be home Monday night. The ECI person is coming Tues. morning and he wants to be here for that.
We're still dealing w/ random vomitting and low grade fevers. That's why Em was fussy this morning. She was burning up after her nap, but the thermometer only said 99.8. Motrin before bed tonight for both of them. I'm pretty sure this is a little virus (b/c of the fever) and not a milk problem (vomit). Hoping, at least.
I'll get on tomorrow after the girls go to bed and DH leaves and respond to everyone's posts. But for now, just want to end with this...

Valerie, not sure how we'll keep her in bed. I assume that since she will have a new opening on her backside, she won't feel too much like playing/moving around. Probably use some good drugs to keep her comfortable. At least it is somewhere she can't irritate with her hands. :snicker: Yet another question to add to my list for the surgeons.
:flowers: HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO A FABULOUS GROUP OF MAMAS! :flowers:
For a lot of you, this is your first one with the twins. Enjoy!! For the rest of us, it will be the first one where we aren't worrying about our twins in the NICU! YEAH for healthy babies! (except for all the runny noses/fevers/vomiting!)

I hope that everyone had a wonderful day! We've had a nice day, just spending time as a family.
A real quick question......
Are you having a hard time getting them to eat? My guys do not like taking stuff from a spoon anymore and the things they used to like they are turning their noses at (litterally, it's so cute to see them wrinkle their nose....until they won't eat anything I offer them!) I have used a straw a few times and that works for a while, but not for everything. They love puffs, cheerios, teddy grams and bananas....but you can't live on that alone! I just don't know what to do. Nathan can not afford to not eat and finger food is hard to add calories to. I've offered toast with p.nut butter, not a big hit, biscuts, not a big hit, alvocado, spit it out, cottage cheese, eat a few bites then refuse. I just am goinig crazy! Then they will throw everything on the floor. GRRRRR Any imput would be great! :stress: :banghead: :help: I need to know I'm not the only one going through this! :violin: :)

I thought I would share this with all my twin mommies. I hope you all had a wonderful mother's day! You are all the strongest, hardest working women I know. I am so glad to have met all of you!! Hugs and kisses!!
Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried .
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the
hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom .
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay .
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom .

Felisha, SO good to hear from you!! First off, if your ex's family members are reading these posts, TOO BAD for them. I can't believe they would do that! Shame on you - this is Felisha's other family, not yours! :snicker: So they have time for reading these posts huh... Second, I'll let you know about new veggie dishes. I baked sweet potatoes the other day, cubed them and sprinkled cinammon on them and they loved them.
Valerie, that was beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Monica, sorry you are having food issues. TJ will eat any and everything you put in front of her these days. (Which is good since we are still trying to fatten the poor girl up!) Noah is our picky eater. Takes him multiple tries of a food before he decides he likes it. What about the jarred fruits/veggies thickened with rice cereal? (Extra calories.) I do banana pieces in crushed cheerios which they enjoy. Raviolis? Shredded cheese? TJ will eat that by the fistful if you let her. I'll keep thinking about this one. Good luck. We've had our share of food issues so I understand how you feel! It sucks!

Good Morning Mammas,
Sorry I have been MIA. I have been reading posts but haven't really felt like posting. I have got that funk that others on the board have had. I just am really blue. I think Mother's Day had something to do with it... Although I love being a Mom, I still miss my Mom and Mother's Day just drives home that I will never buy another Mother's Day card for my mom or be able to send her flowers...
Well, I will never be able to catch up but there were some things that stick out in my head...
Staci - Chase was very handsome in his tux... I hope his sermon went well... I know that your heart was busting with the pride you must feel...
Jill - I was missing you last week... So glad you posted. That is great news about TJ's test results... I was talking about you the other day. Telling a friend of mine what an inspiration you are to me... The way you have handled the premie problems, TJ's medical issue and still have such a great attitude. Thank you for being here!
Christel - I am so glad the girl's 1 year went so well (except for the vomit). You should be so proud of how far they have come and the work you have put in to get them there...
Valerie - Thank you for sharing... I was just talking to my DH on Friday about how I never thought I had it in me to love these boys so much... It is overwhelming some days.
Felisha - All I can say about the twin's father's family is they need to stop using the boards to find out about these angels and get involved with their lives... They will regret their actions when the twins get older and then it will be too late.
Steph - Keep us informed about your hand... This is a very trying time for you and remember you always have us to vent to... We are here for you if not physically at least we are here cyberly..
Okay, I should get to work...
Happy belated Mother's Day to the GREATEST mother's I know.

Hey all!
Happy Mother's Day to everyone.
Sorry I have been MIA, but things have of course been rough and strained around here. I am going to answer everyone tonight, at work right now and just wanted to say hello, and let you know I was alive. I'll write more tonight.
PS-I am still on atkins, today is three weeks, and I have lost 13 pounds. I am feeling awesome and have another 15 or so I'd like to lose, but I am happy. Enough about me, rude Mindy...:snicker:
Love to all the mamas.

Hope all had a nice Mother's Day.:flowers: I was thinking of everyone and wondering how your day went. We stayed home and DH made us breakfast and cooked dinner. I had a nice time just hanging out.
Saturday at Idlewild Park was nice. Basically a political thing for Jess Stairs but fun for the kids. They had lots of exhibits of different things, recyling, smoke free stuff,Upromise for college, first aid tips and lots more. Part of the park was open and they had free ice cream and w (rubbery)hot dog :snicker: and a drink. I was surprised at how many people were there. Ethan loved the balls at Jumpin' Jungle and I forgot my camera.:banghead2
Unfortunately back to the same old grind of the week. I don't know what I'll do when school is out in a few weeks. Sometimes DD#2 drives me crazy cuz she never quits talking. Her nickname is Motor Mouth Madison, she certainly lives up to it. She is harder to keep occupied then the twins.
Felicia-Sorry to hear about the drama with HIS family. You have been through SO much taking care of everythingby yourself. The nerve of them trying to dictate your life. I'm glad that you didn't let them get the best of you. It's nobody's fault but their own for not stepping up to the plate. They are the ones missing out on your precious children.
Kerri-I ditto exactly what Val said. Just remember your MOM is watching you from above. I'm sure she is SO proud of you.
Steph-Your boys really are something. I thought of you and that commercial of the triplets were one of them puts a watch on the toilet.:hahaha: I would have just $hit seeing them in the bathroom.
Lisa-Your MIL is really a piece of work. She sure likes to get things:stirthepot: . I think she does it on purpose. IMO your boys look like you from the picture of you and Mindy at the mall.
Speaking of Mindy- Hope you are doing ok???
Missy-I chuckled about your boys in the grass. Maybe you could put them outside next time ona small blanket that their legs don't touch the grass til they get used to it. Mine don't scream but they don't move off the blanket.
Valerie-That is SO sweet that the twins sent you flowers. Have you tried letting Corey play in the tub with no water?
Christel-Hope all is better at your house.
Staci-Prom pics OH the memories!!! Chase is a real handsome fella.Congrats to you on raising such a great kid. He'll make a great husband one day.
Monica-I have yet to get Emily to eat anything but yoghurt. My mom was finally got to see her in action when she eats. She was amazed how she makes herself gag and then puke. It is SO frustrating. Ethan will eat anything I give him but he won't pick it up and put it in his mouth. It has to be on a spoon?
Jill-So relieved to hear the news about TJ's scan and upcoming surgery. I'm sure it has put your worries at ease to some extent. She sure is one tough cookie.
I hope I didn't miss anyone. I need to get a shower:bath: and do something productive today before someone shows up at my door and i'm in my jammies.
Lots of love:grouphugg

Monica: Isabelle has boycotted eating off of the spoon, it is hard to find finger foods for every meal, but this is what we eat
scrambled eggs with diced ham
diced ham - it comes in a pack all diced up they love it
tofu
ravioli graduates
steamed broccoli
peas
green beans
cut up chicken
steamed carrots
cubed potatoes and sweet potatoes
edamome (probaly spelled wrong it is soy beans, you can buy them in the freezer section, they are a GREAT source of protien)
avocados
mandarian oranges
cubed peaches
cubed pears
bananas
rice (yes with their hands, I always find grains in Isabelle'S fat rolls or in their diapers afterwards)
turkey sandwich meat
sorry to write a book, but I was hoping to give you some ideas!
Felisha: Wow, I would have to use this to your advantage, we could come up with all sorts of interesting stories to post, who knows what is true and what is not! Unbelievable, do not let anyone scare you away we miss you! I took the babies to the Frist yesterday, it was so funny, there were tons of snooty artsy people everywhere and the babies decided to be SO Vocal! They are quite the art critics! We have got to do it sometime! We got several looks with one set of twins, imagine the fun we could have with two!
Jen: Good luck with the party Sat! We are going to a field trip to Party City today to try and get ideas, their Bday is 6/13 and I am throwing Chase a little party after graduation the 25th.
Kerrie: I know yesterday had to be bittersweet for you. I liked someone's idea about writing things down. My Mom died when I was 12, and as I get older I miss her for different reasons. What upsets me now is that she did not get to meet my children or DH. I tell Chase stories about her all the time. Even little things, like the way she smelled. (Ralph Lauren perfume) Maybe you could make a journal for the twins all about their grandma in heaven. Something to pass on to them when they are older. I am sorry for your hurt.
Mindy: Hang in there girl, the finish line is in site! Congrats on the diet! I have been hush hush about dieting on here b/c I never stick to crap, but I have been taking phentermine for 3 weeks and have lost 15 lbs! I am thrilled, I have about 30 more to go to be pre-fertility drug weight!
Mothers Day: Chase went to a local ceramic place and made a picture frame for me that said Happy Mothers Day on the top and We Love You on the bottom. He had my DH take a pic of him holding the twins and put it inside. It is the absolute best mothers day present I have ever received! (I am pretty sure his girlfriend had something to do with it) I cried like a baby. My Dh got me a gift certificate to my favorite day spa for a massage and reflexology. Chase's sermon was amazing, he had to do it with one other girl who is graduating. The pastor helped them write part of it and then they each had to write their own part about their mom. He talked about how I taught him to respect others and himself. He said Mom, when I pack and leave for college I am not leaving you b/c I bring with me all the lessons you have taught me. I was crying so hard people were staring. It was at least 30 min after his sermon before church ended and I was still crying. I cried the whole way home, my DH was laughing at me, I just could not stop!!! I am not handling him moving out well at all. I had Chase when I was 19, I feel like we have been through so much together I just cannot imagine him not here everyday. Wow what a book, I think I got you beat Kerrie. Sorry everyone. I actually have more to tell about Chase's peice of $hit sperm doner, but I have gone on long enough.
Take care,
Staci

Hi Ladies,
So no more whining (today!)
I forgot to tell you some stuff...
Zachary took his first steps on Saturday. Just happened to be their 11th Month Birthday (or how ever you would say that). He was so proud of himself...
The boys are doing better on eating. They are eating finger foods like crazy but are still handling the spoon feedings okay. Zachary will be our picky eater. He is always pursing his lips and shaking his head. They ate a graduate pasta dinner the other day and no one got sick... They didn't eat much but hey I will take what I can get.
We have tons of teeth coming in on the top but nothing new coming in on the bottom.
I think that covers everything new with the boys.
Well, I had a second while I am sitting here waiting on a vendor to send me new pricing and thought I would let you know what is happening...

Nothing new over here. I hope you all had a happy Mother's Day. Kerrie, my mom felt the same as you. THis was her first without my grandma and she has started menopause. Luckily for me she was behaving :)
Feeding-my boys HATE any type of fresh fruit. I swear they have a touch sensory disorder. They will not touch any type of fresh fruit. Once I mix it they gulf it down. The only finger foods are crackers, puffs (which I should own stock in), cheerios, pancakes, and melted chees sandwhich. They love sweet potatoes with cinnamon too.
Okay I am so my mom. I got them a sit and wak airplane ..see the new videos on photobucket. Well I gave them to it before their bday. My mom always does the same thing with me. I got a new camera and printer. My dh and mom suprised me.
I went shopping just me and the boys this weekend which never happens. I was sooo happy. Got two great outfits for my new position. I go see them on Wed so I HAD to have a new outfit.
I love you ladies. I was so craking up with all your support for Felisha too funny.
okay fussy boys are calling my name

Happy Belated Mother's Day everyone!!! I hope you all enjoyed your special day.
Heather, those videos are SO SO SO darn cute!! B&Z are really zooming around now! We HAVE to get these 4 boys together soon. They can come over on their 'airplane' and then play in our new playhouse. It is E&B's b-day present and I"m being good about keeping it away until the actual b-day. Also, as we talked about before, I have a TON of clothes saved up for you to go through.....let me know when! Oh yeah, another thing....have you heard of Tot To Trot?? I have been meaning to tell you about this place for weeks now. I take the boys a few times a week for 'open gym' (an hour where they can do whatever they want). The grandparents got us a 10 session card and it has been wonderful. It is a place where they can just go go go and then take a great nap :) I so want to take you there with the twins. They will love it. Especially now that they are taking off everywhere. It's in Kissimmee off JYP by Pleasant Hill Rd. www.tottotrot.com Check it out and let me know what you think.
I SO promise that tomorrow I will come on here and reply to everyone.
Right now I have to take 15 mins or so to read before bed. I just got a new book that I've been wanting to read called Kabul Beauty School. I love it...such a great story so far. It's nonfiction, based on a midwestern woman's journey to Afghanistan on a relief mission and she is a hairdresser. She ends up opening a beauty school in Kabul and this is her story about the women she meets and employs, the customs, traditions, etc. I just love how descriptive it is.
Anyway, I just took my Midol and want to read a bit before going to sleep. (Aunt Flo comes with a VENgeance these days). Oh, and I'm now currently 30 pounds heavier than I was before I started the IVF. So disgusted..... I'm so proud of you gals who are doing SB and Atkins and getting serious....what do I do?? Go out and spend $100 on new clothes that are a size bigger. Sick.
xoxo

Love, love, love the videos! Why can't I figure out how to do that?! I have camcorder that records on those mini-disks. I have tried copying video to my computer in order to email it and I cannot do it!
Felisha: Anytime I would love to get together, park, zoo, Frist you name it. We could than create our devious stories to post!!!! BTW here are my messages to the mystery spy :neener: :reddy: :secruity:
Heather: That was so cute the boys pushing each other on the plane! How sweet! I am afraid my video would be Aiden knocking Isabelle off of the plane and Isabelle screaching at the top of her lungs!
Kerrie: CONGRATS ZACHARY!! :party2 Now the real fun starts!
Steph: Did I miss it or has your surgery been scheduled? Are'nt you supposed to have some surgery on your foot as well or am I crazy? :stupid:
World's greatest toy: Had to share, we bought the babies this 6 foot "tunnel" it is a round tube thing they can crawl through. (picture a gerbil cage connector) You can buy a tent to attach to it as well. They love it! We bought it Saturday and they have played with it non stop since. They crawl through it over and over, tackle it, stand up on and roll it across the floor. It is so funny. It has these mesh screen windows in it and they think they should be able to crawl out of them. You see their faces all smooshed into the screen, very entertaining. We got it at Toys R Us. This is Aiden and Isabelle all day :funny:
We went to Party City to get ideas, they had such cute Princess crowns, and King crowns for Birthdays, of course as soon as I attempted to get it near their heads they snatched them. Sigh, I wish they would wear hats. Neither will wear a hat or shoes! They always rip their shoes off! I swear if Isabelle does not start liking shoes soon I am going to have to send her to DNA testing to make sure she is mine!
Good night Mommies!

LOVE the new videos ladies! Very cool! What great toys too! Heather, what exactly is the brand/name of the plane your boys have? I might have to look into that. Mine LOVE to bounce and jump and they would love that as well as the zebra that Felisha has.
Staci, I was just looking at tunnels last night. I was telling my dh about the one we had as kids and how much fun it was and that we should get one. Too funny! Our OT brought over a type of obstacle course last Friday that both kids LOVED! Each time they would climb over/off/onto something, they would stop to clap. Too funny. I'm going toy shopping! (I feel that is all that I do! Just when I think they are good on toys, they develop new skills and need different toys.) :snicker:
Does anyone have toothless kids or am I the only one? TJ has some, but not Noah. I guess it fits his mullet. I just can't get the back of his hair cut since he moves so much. I have given him a serious cut since the below pic. Will have to get a new one up soon.
OK, this is how lazy I am... my dh bought me the Roomba robot vacuum so I just turn it on and let it do the work while I pump!

Good Morning Ladies...
I dreamed about mom last night... Up and down most of the night but overall I think I am doing better. These times come and go. Sometimes it is overwhelming and other times it is tolerable. Thank you all for you counsel yesterday. I always know that I can depend on you to give me sound advice.
Dad - So found out on Sunday that this round of pneumonia (sp?) is viral. So everyone has to gown, glove and mask up to see him. The doctors are hopeful that it will run its course within another 7 days. They took him off all antibiotics because it won't help and they don't want to overwhelm his system just in case he gets a bacteria infection later. The hope is that he will be off the vent within the next week. So that is good news...
My pettiness is showing - So last week DH bought this blow up pool for the boys. Its big enough that he and I can sit in there with them... So yesterday it was 89 here and he decided that it would be a great idea to get them in the pool. So we all go out there. The boys got so scared... And I know that we never want our kids to be scared, BUT... They both reached for me when they were scared... Now I have been feeling like second fiddle for a while now... all of the books say that at this age, babies prefer their main caregiver (which is my husband)... And I have just told myself that this is normal and that they still like me but feel safe with DH. Then last night they wanted me when they were scared... Well, needless to say my chest puffed out about ten feet and I became like Xena, Princess Warrior... "I will always keep you safe!" Just felt good to be wanted.
My bad momminess is showing - Last night Zach would not go down. Just cried and cried... After about 1/2 hour I sent DH up to the nursery to give him motrin and orejel (It is toothapaloosa at my house). I asked DH when he came down if Zach had poopies.. (Just looking at all options) He said no... So about 10 minutes later when he was still crying I went upstairs to calm him down and found the biggest boulder poopie I have ever encountered... I felt like I should have been working for the inquisition... Torture is my specialty... Needless to say, I quickly removed the boulder and rocked Zach to sleep... He was just so wound up from screaming to let us know that he was being crushed by the weight of his poop... Bad Mamma!
Well, I hope everyone enjoyed my novel...
Have a great day!

Kerrie aka Xena Princess Warrior...
I missed your post from yesteday. Will look at it later on today to see what I missed. Sorry! I thought I sent you a pm on Sunday re: our moms but see that it never went through. Hang in there. You are obviously doing a terrific job or your boys wouldn't want you. (Especially when they were scared!) Glad the pool was fun. That's on my list of things to buy. Never know when dh will get around to cleaning the big pool so I figure I'll just get a little one that he CAN'T fit in with us. :snicker: Praying that your dad gets better over the next week and knocks this virus on it's a**. Take care!!

Felisha: I just watched your video. OMG, sooo freaking cute. I loved Sydney in the backround dancing. We bought that zebra toy for the boy's birthday, too. Now I am half tempted to take it out of the box early.
Heather: I love that airplane. You boys play so well together. Mine would have been fighting over the seat and pulling each other's hair. I watched all your videos. So cute!
Kerrie: I heard that if you dream about someone who has passed, it means they are thinking of you and want you to know they are okay. I have dreams of my great aunt all the time. She was like a grandmother to me since my grandma (her sister) died when I was really young. She passed away when I was in college from breast cancer. I really miss her but enjoy it when I dream about her.
Well, we are back at the phase in our house where no one wants to sleep. They are waking up in the middle of the night and scream their little heads off until one of us go into their room. I try to let them CIO, but they scream so bad I would feel awful if I let them CIO and something was actually wrong. I swear, this always happens every couple months. Just when things go smoothly, then BOOM, let's wake up at 2am and cry for attention. We had both of them in bed w/ us at one point and they both played with my hair. It was kinda sweet but it also hurt when they pulled.
Oh, Ethan saw Brady w/ a binkie this morning so he pointed to his own mouth and made the "uhhh, uhhh" sound, like he wanted a binkie. I think it's cute that they are able to tell us what they want now, in their own subtle way.
My brother and SIL sent a package to the boys today and included some Belgium chocolates. YUM! I ate the carmel one already. They sent the boys Skull T-shirts. They are really cute. And some other toys that are wrapped. I want to give them their presents today but dh told me to wait until their bday. I think I will just leave them out and see what happens. :snicker:
Dh and his dad finished putting together their swingset last night and we put them in the baby swings. They love it. So I am going to be outside all day w/ them. I can at least work on my tan.
Hope everyone is doing well today. Thinking of you all!

Kerrie: I still have dreams about my mom and I truly believe, like Lisa said, it is their way of letting you know they are watching over you. The dreams are not near as frequent now, but I still have them when a major event occurs in my life. Sometimes I will dream she is suddenly back, that she never died and just had to go away for a while. She will just talk to me about life in these dreams, it is truly amazing. When I wake up I can still "feel" her. She is watching over you and your gorgeous babies, I am so sorry you are hurting.
We love you!

Kerrie - I cannot imagine what it must be like to miss your mom so much. I agree with what everyone else said, dreaming about her means she is there watching over all of you.
Lisa - Do not beat yourself up over getting the boys last night. Kayley does the same thing every few weeks. I have to admit, when she really cries, I end up getting her and I give her a bottle. She usually goes back to sleep after that. I just cannot let her CIO when she gets worked up like that. We can be bad moms together :) BTW, your MIL is CRAZY and RUDE...sorry, but she seems to go out of her way to offend you. Those boys look a lot like you, so their good looks have come from you, too!
Steph - I think you look great in all the pics I have seen of you!!
Jill - Corey still has no teeth. I am starting to get worried. Kayley has 3...I guess girls just develop faster!! (lol).
Staci - We were thinking of getting the twins a tunnel. They love their tent. I am glad to hear that it was such a hit!!
Felisha - I cannot even believe all of this nonsense!! This is your place to share your feelings. If they want to know what is going on then tell them to come over and spend time with the babies. If they were doing that, then we would not have to be talking about them!! I LOVED the video. Those babies sure are moving around!!
Heather - Where did you get that thing they were riding on in your video? We want to get the twins something like that for their bdays. The one you have looks like fun!! BTW, the videos were adorable!
Joy - We have tried to put Corey in with no water and he is still scared. We did go in our baby pool today. For the first 15 mintues, he was terrified. Then, he let go of me and played a little bit, but I could not go far. We start swimming lessons in June. I am hoping that the more he is exposed to water the more he will trust it.
Jen - I hope your party goes well this weekend. Happy Birthday to Max!!
Mindy - Way to go on the weight loss!!!
It is SO hot here today...close to 90...then, it is suppsoed to go down to 55 for a few days...we have the craziest weather in Ohio. We did go in our pool today for the first time. Kayley LOVED it. She cannot get enough of the water.
Well, I need to oroganize some pictures. I am hoping to post some more recent ones.
Have a great day!

The boys REALLY love it. But it only works if Zack is pushing and Ben is sitting. As you can see from when Ben pushes, it looks like he is pushing a lawn mower up a hill.
Steph-I emailed you.
Staci-I upload my videos frm my digital camera to my hard drive then onto photobucket. Then I past the info from the bottom line (the code that photobucket gives) into the User CP.
Well today was a great day. It was my birthday. Turned 33. Students were so cute. One student who is really poor brought in some old fake roses in a vase and another also poor student brought in cupcakes. It was sooo sweet. My mil got me a giftcard The first thing I got this morning was from my Darling Megan. As soon as I said good morning. She popped right up gave me a hug said happy birthday and reached under her pillow for a hand made card. Ended up she talked DH into going to JCPenny's and get me a gift card. It was all her idea even the amount. :cloud9: That was sooo sweet. yeah more outfits. My mom is so bad and gave me my present early. Her and DH went in on a new digital AND a new printer that doesnt need to be connected to the pc. I love that because my laptop is about to crash. I dont know what I will do if it does. I cant imagine the whole summer without you all. I cant afford a new one. So say a prayer for this old hand me down to hold on until the fall. It already fades out and gives me a white screen. I actually have to PUNCH it for it to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:snicker: :snicker:

So, I have a question to pose...what do you think about taking away bottles cold turkey? I am reading the book that Daniele suggested "Read or Not There We Go", and the author said she went cold turkey at 1 years old and only gave sippy cups. I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this...

2 secs but Lisa wanted to respond and say that happens at our house and I usually find that Tyler pops a tooth or 2 or 3 shortly after that occurs - nothing you are doing wrong probably just jaw pain at 2am.

05-16-2007, 03:21 PM
Thank you all so much.
Happy Birthday Christel! Today is my cousin and unlce's birthday too. I tell everyone that I am 29.99 + tax
OKay I visited my new school and I LOVE IT!!!!! I fit right into the team. The "leader" teacher could be my twin. We both are short, chunky same hair style and more importantly have VERY similar teaching styles. I almost fell over twice becasue she disciplined the exact way that I do. It was very relaxed. We had awards cermony (which my current school never does) and we had a 4th grade bbq. THere were 3 parents that were there the whole day just to volunteer. One grandparent comes in 2-3x a week to help the 4th grade team with readin, copying etc. I am soo excited. DId I mention that I LOVE IT!!!!!
One request. We are still having trouble with MIL. I really love that she watches the boys. We might not alwasy see eye to eye but they are safe and loved. My dh schedule changed which means she might not be able to continue to take care of them. This will be a NIGHTMARE for me. Financially I dont know what we will do plus I really dont want to get up any early to take the boys to a daycare. So please pray that things come together where she can continue to watch them and my friends child too.

Heather and Christel: Happy Belated Birthday, girls!! :birthday:
Heather, I did not get any emails from you ? I think my earthlink email is getting screwy...I didn't receive emails from another friend either. Try either PMing me or emailing swineland21@yahoo.com. I am SO SO SO happy about your new school. It sounds like such a wonderful environment for you to really thrive as an awesome teacher. Congratulations, I'm so proud of you!
Mindy, if you read this, I don't know if you've tried emailing me either, but as I said to Heather above, my earthlink email is messed up. Either way, would love to hear from you!
Staci, no you are not going crazy....I AM supposed to have foot surgery as well. Right now, it's the 'great of two evils' thing and the hand is bothering me more than the foot. Too bad they can't do a 2-for-1 surgery.....get 'em both done at the same time...would be great! Those photos were great....your Chase is ADORABLE!
Val, I have also thought about the method of cutting out bottles. Not sure if cold turkey will work here or not. They definitely use their sippy cups now, but don't always finish what's in it, whereas with the bottle they do. Especially before bed. That's a comfort thing, I think. If I DO cut out bottles cold turkey, I will at least keep the nighttime one. The flowers DH and the twins sent you were beautiful! I got tulips as well (my fave) and chocolates ....just what my fata$$ needs :snicker:
Jill, I meant to comment a long time ago on the BabyFirst TV channel. We've had it for about 5 months now and LOVE IT. It is my saving grace when they get antsy/whiny and also when they eat in their highchairs. I love that the shows are like 5-10 mins long...perfect for their little attention spans. And NO commercials or anti-piracy FBI warnings!! YAY!
AndreaR, Daniele.....where are you?
I guess we lost Ters a long time ago :(
Lisa, too funny about your hot neighbor! Honestly, I think it's fine to still think guys are cute and to still look....just can't touch! NOthing wrong with a little eye candy every now and then. :)
Tonight is the Office Finale....SO SO excited!!! C'mon Jim and Pam! My prediction is this: Jim will not get the job, but Karen will. She will leave and then Jim will stay in Scranton and he and Pam will FINALLY get on with it. :knuddel:
We have Kindermusik this morning. To be honest, I really can't wait for it to be over. I think they were/are too young to get much out of it, I mean for $357. If it were $50, fine. But all they want to do is crawl around and play with the door handles in the room and rarely do they sit still and play nicely with the instruments like they are supposed to. Plus it's at 9:30am which is right in the middle of naptime and I always have to go in and wake them up to go. Sucks.
My hand surgery is set for June 5th. June 4th is the boys' 12 month check-up, so I can't wait to see how they've progressed. They are finally eating SO well. We went through a little phase where they would not eat anything unless it was finger food...nothing from a spoon/fork. They would wave it away. Now, they are back to opening their mouth for pretty much anything (that's what she said). :snicker: Jeez, DH and I do that ALL the time....like multiple times a day. Whether it's something that we say or something we hear, we are always saying 'that's what she said'.....thanks Michael Scott.
Need to run....talk soon!

Good Morning Mamas! Well our 1st trip to the zoo on Mother's Day was just okay... There were so many people there. We waited in line at least 45 min. to see the polar bear cubs. It was very difficult to see much of anything. At least we have a pass, and I plan to take the twins at least once a week to just stroll around. Not this week though it is so cold here. This weather is crazy. L & L have been so great this week. Some teething issues, but naps and night sleeping are on track. Also Lily is eating like crazy. She is picking up foods much better. I found cheese crumbles instead of shredded which is hard for them to pick up. Luke still wants to be fed whether it's finger foods or not. I just put the foods on his tray and I have to walk into the kitchen and do something because if I'm there he won't pick it up himself.
Valerie- My twins are not even close to being ready for full on sippy cup. I guess it's what your comfortable with. I think Steph is right about the night time bottle though. It's a comfort thing and therefore harder to give up. I would probably wait on that one.
Heather- Your new school sounds wonderful. I am so happpy for you to find a working enviroment that you fit so well with. Good Luck!
Andrea & Felisha- Re: pics. I go to photobucket.com and upload my photos. Then L click IMG code. Then log in to this site go to user CP. Edit signature R click/paste in signature box.
Talk to you all soon.

So, yesterday for my b-day, DH surprised me by coming home early with flowers for a lunch date. We loaded up the girls, went to the Cheesecake Factory (YUM!) and had a lovely time. Until dessert. We're enjoying a great piece of peanut butter cheesecake and Ruby starts to throw up. Everywhere. :vomit: DH was quick and managed to catch a large amount in the cloth napkins. Eww! Check please!
So, feeling horrible for the server who had to take care of the fallout (it wasn't just vomit, there were plenty of "food droppings", too) we tipped largely. 50% I think. Was that excessive? Not enough? How do we do this from here on out?
Thank you all for the sweet b-day wishes! I did have a great day (vomit excluded). Which Mommies have the next b-days?
ECI - the evaluator, Nancy, came on Tues. and was so nice. She'll be calling soon to schedule a full eval and coming back w/ the PT. She's pretty sure Ruby will qualify for some PT, but maybe not Emme. I'm relieved to have some action on the horizon.
DH had to leave last night for site work but is coming back tonight. I'm about to get ready and go to lunch w/ my girlfriend and her 15 mo. old. :xfingers: for no puke today! I'm going to get caught up w/ all of you in the next few days, I promise! I feel sad when I can't get on and read and respond every day. Y'all have become so important to me and I can't wait to share what's going on with you. I so wish we all lived closer and have a huge amount of envy for those of you who get to visit in person! :snicker:

Happy Bdays Heather and Christel!
Heather: Congrats on the new position as well. The school sounds wonderful! It is scary how much they can vary. I always struggled when we moved trying to get info on school districts with Chase.
Sippy Cups: They do OK with them if there is juice or water, but if I try to give them formula they turn their nose up. They will not take their formula from a cup! They will suck it right down in a bottle. How weird is that?
Christel: How sweet of your DH! That sounds fun, except for the puke part! My kiddos always cause a mess when we go out to eat, stuff all over the floor! I guess I am cheap, I still tip 20% for good service and 15% for mediocre service!
Kris: Hmm cheese crumbles, I have not tried those. I bet they would gobble them up! Hope your next zoo visit is better, can you go during the week?
Steph: Geesh, two surgeries what a pain! I still have not scheduled my gall bladder surgery, to busy! I wish you a speedy recovery. Tell your DH the doc said massages and facials help the recovery time!
Still cannot figure out how to post videos. I think it is b/c they are from a camcorder not a camera. I guess I will have to break down and actually read the directions! I have that male gene that makes me think I can just figure it out without directions.
Mindy: Still dying to here the secret!!!! How is everything going with you?
Twins have been waking up in the middle of the night almost every night lately. I know I should let them cio, but man Aiden will scream until he is hoarse. I just can not do it. When I go in to hold him he still screams! He also squirms in my arms like crazy, I call it the tornado move, he will just spin around and around. He pushes off of my legs with his feet and hits his head on my chin about 50 times a night too. I have little bruises all over my thighs from his toes! It is such a pain! I do not know what to do. I have given him Tylenol, not really sure if it helps. I have tried giving him a bottle, works sometimes but sometimes not. I do not know if he is hurting, or had a bad dream or what. Poor Isabelle cries b/c she keeps getting woken up, I can get her back down no problem but than Aiden will cry and wake her back up.
How long do you let them CIO before you go in?

HAPPY BELATED B-DAYS, HEATHER AND CHRISTEL!!! :) SORRY I MISSED IT!!
It's birthday'o'rama at our house in May. Max is the 20th, I'm the 21st, and DH is the 24th....on top of that we have an uncle's birthday, one dad's, and two bestfriends' b-days in the same week.
Things are crazy lately ( I know that I always write that)--I 'm having trouble posting between work, more house guests, and party planning. Max's party is all set. I made homemade shields, goblets with jewels, and stick horses in my *free* for our Knights and Maidens party. I found a HUGE inflatable castle on clearance for $30. Hopefully, it will last through the party because it would be a fun summer toy. Also, praying for NO rain so all kiddos can stay outside and have a jousting match!
Christel- I hope you get the sickies out of your house once and for all! Yuck!
Felisha and heather- great videos!!
Val- love your pictures-- you look so pretty!
Lisa--I'm impressed with your bottle fading...I'm going to try doing milk in sippy cups soon and see how it goes.
Staci-After we put the kids to bed, we don't go back in until morning! Sounds harsh, I know! They rarely cry anymore (there were a few rough nights!), and if they do, only for about 5-10 minutes.
Alright, I'll post more later after the Office. :) We love that show, too, so I can't wait to see tongiths episode.
Hugs to you all-
Jen

Ok, here's my attempt to catch up on responses. My apologies in advance for anyone I inadvertently miss.
Staci - My parents bought a tunnel like yours for my nephew for his 1st b-day. He's about to turn 2 and has used the h3ll out of it! We have a tiny one that attaches to the ladybug tent and it's already a hit. I think we'll be springing for a long one soon.
Heather - love the new videos. Your guys are so sweet w/ each other in them :throb: Also, :woo: for the awesome new school!
Steph - also adore the new video in your siggy. Your guys are so funny w/ their little screams. Apparently Ruby hears them here in TX is is screeching back.
Felisha - I was cracking up at the end credits of your video  Especially the "no zebras were harmed" part! Thomas is so stinking adorable on that thing!
Jill - Emme is still toothless, too. Ruby has the 2 lowers in. And have you seen the SNL commercial for the Woomba (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8zMIkMlOWU)? You'll die laughing especially since you have a Roomba :snicker: :snicker:
Valerie - my pedi said he won't push us to be off bottles until after 18 mo. He said the fats from whole milk are so important and some kids don't consume as much when they go to cups. So, I'm not rushing. I'd like to be done w/ bottle by 15 mo. I'm going to phase out, though.
Lisa - I am way impressed w/ your kids and the early bottle to cup transition. Wow!
Kerrie - We're gonna get our backyard baby pool set up this weekend, too. I can't wait. And WTG on being first choice :five: Of course, I'm not surprised.
Kris - L:throb:VE the new siggy pics. Such cuties
Missy - How's it going w/ the helmet? Can you see any changes yet?
Jen - what a fun party for Max! Hope you'll post pics... it sounds so cute!
off to watch Gray's Anatomy :)

Hello Ladies!!
Christel - Thanks for the info on bottles. I almost wish there would be a universal decision on how to do certain things...it would make it easier then reading about what 15 different experts have to say. It just confuses me more!!
Jen - Max's party sounds like so much fun!! Make sure you post pics. Are all the kids dressing up? Thanks for the compliment on my pics :)
Staci - I cannot imagine how frustrated you must be right now with the crying during the night. I know when it happens here, I get so aggravated...then I feel guilty for being annoyed. I usually wait 15 minutes or so. It all depends on the type of cry it is. Sorry I do not have more advice.
I wanted to post more but DH just came home with DQ...YUMMM!! Sorry for all that I missed!!

It has been a few busy days. With Ethan crawling now he will not allow me to do anything all he does is cry at my ankles. I told DH tonight that I'm ready to picket out in the front yard and go on SAHM strick. So maybe I could get a break. oh! if only!!! I could really use one but there are no takes around here. I have not been away from the kids for I can't tell you how long. Correction MIL watched them fro an gour while I mowed greass for DH last week.
MY birthday is the 21st of this month as is Jen's if I remember correctly.
Jen-you have birthdays in May as DH's family does in November, all the men even my BIL's so weird that it turned out that way? Max's party sounds really cool, we will be lookig forward to pics if you get a chance.
Valerie-I'm with you on the crazy weather I just want it to be warm not so hot sooo fast. Your new siggy pics are cute Kayley and Corey look alot like you. I like the idea of switching to sippy cups cold turkey but mine are no where near ready for that.
Heather-I couldn't remember if I told Congrats on your new position or not. I'm happy for and that you will feel right at home. I want to know if your boys always play so well together. I was amazed at them enjoying each other. E/E are always fighting when they get more teeth it could get bloody!!!
Kerri-How is your Dad doing?
Jill-Emily finally got her first tooth yesterday (BR) Ehtan is working on all four front ones at once. He has been on ibuprofen 24/7 it seems .
Steph-Cute videos of the boys and their new toy!!
Christel-You really made my day with that commercial for the WOOMBA!!! LOL!!!! When is your next appt for the girls for PT it would be nice if they both qualified.
Staci-I have the same problem with formula in a sippy it has to be milk or juice/water or Ethan turns up his nose. Emily still won't use on. I try just about everyday to get her to eat and drink??
Missy-I'm wondering too, how the helmet is working out??
I know I have missed a few mommies but I finally feel like I can sleep now.
There is so much going on in my life right now maybe some day I'll be able to confide in you wonderful moms but I'm gun shy because so many people judge me for some of the decisions I have made in the last year. A very close friend I thought I had hasn't even spoken to me in over a year. It really hurts to think that you can count on someone when times get rough and they don't agree with the choices i have made and decide to end a friendship of over 10 years. Later I may realize that those choices are the wrong ones. I will be the oneto live with that. I just need emotional support. Right now, I only have DH and his family, my own parents aren't very supportive (IMO) They say otherwise. Anyways!!!
Have a peaceful night
May all our precious miracles
be tucked in their warm beds
fast asleep til morning light.
Love to all, Joy

Just checking in...
Dad - As far as I know he is doing well. I think I mentioned they finally determined that he has a virus. So he should be getting better soon. I did get a mother's day card from him. I think my aunt held it while he signed. It made me cry... I wish my family would call to let me know what is going on but I guess no news is good news...
Bottles to Sippy Cups - I wanted to do it cold turkey but my ped indicated that she wanted us to do more of a transition. She said at least a couple of months on the bottle with the milk to ensure they drink enough...
Crying in the Night - We normally let them cry for about 5 - 10 minutes if it is a whiny cry. If it is a panicked cry or a painful cry then we normally go in immediately. Neither one of them do it often so we are very lucky... Now watch tonight will be cry fest because I bragged on them.
Joy - When ever you are ready to share we are here for you - no judgement, just support. It is the least we can do.
Heather - Not sure I ever said congrats on the new position! Never a doubt in my mind. You are an awesome mother and teacher. My mom was a teacher and I have so much respect and love for the profession. It is truly a calling IMHO.
Steph - Keep us informed about how your hand is doing. There is nothing more frustrating then not being able to use your hand properly. When I had my hand surgery, I grew tired of it very quickly.
Well I will catch up with everyone else later...
TGIF.

OK, this is a bit scary and very freaky. I just got back from the chiropractor and my dh said, "guess where I found TJ when I went up to the nursery." She was sitting on the floor in front of the mirrored closet sliding doors. :woa: Um... I put her IN the crib, which is lowered to the 2nd lowest setting at 9:30. Neither of us heard a cry, thud, nothing! So now we are trying to figure out how our not quite 15 pound baby got out of her crib. :hmm:
In other news, I saw a book titled, "Motherless Daughters". I went and bought a copy to read. If anyone would like to read it, pm me your address and I'll mail you the other copy I bought. I thought maybe those of us interested can pass it along?? Just a thought. OK, done pumping off to play with Houdini and her brother.

Hey Mommies
DH is home, Ruby didn't throw up yesterday (and today's good, too, so far), and they're taking a great nap :woo:
Joy - We don't have the appointment for the PT person set yet. I was hoping they'd call today and schedule. If I don't hear from them by noon on Mon, I'm going to call. As for emotional baggage and all that... unload anytime you feel comfortable, or don't. It's up to you (of course) and we're here without judgment, ready to listen.
Jill - OMG! I can't believe TJ got out of her crib! Might be time to get a crib tent. Wow... I would be freaking out!
Staci - yes yes on the presents for Mommy, too! Excellent idea :D
Valerie - exactly! Why isn't there a universal standard for child rearing? Could it be anymore confusing? On the other hand, no matter what we do, someone out there is sure to validate it in a book or magazine :D
Lisa - I've had the weepies fairly often since the girls' b-day. I feel ridiculous. I was reading them a bedtime story one night and lost it. Another time I was telling them about how they slept when they were "little" and started crying. Fortunately, DH hasn't been home at those times. He'd totally :hahaha: at me.
Ok, nap time is over and I hear Emme working giving birth to a monster poop. Time to go.

Thanks for all the Corey inquiries. He is awesome with the helmet I will try to post a pic this weekend so you can see his stylish helmet.
First week no measurable improvement but that was expected since not on 100% till mid-week. We go back on 5/29 so hopefully we see improvement by then...
Corey figured out how to get into a sitting position from laying down and stand up all in one day !!! It makes me feel so much better that he finally figured out these developmental milestones. The joke around here is after all the worry he will probably walk first:snicker:

Happy Birthday Ethan, Brady, Logan, Dylan! Hope you had a great time!!!!!
(my fonts aren't working)
Okay last year for mother's day and my birthday I was in the hospital and miserably on Magnesium. This year made up for it!
My SDH made reservations at Epcot to eat at Morroco. We ate at the fast food during our honeymoon. The sit down festival was a bit out of our price range. I just had graduated college right before. ANyway, he made arrangements for my mom to come visit. He called this my "photo" birthday becasue I got a new camera, printer and yesterday I came home to a HUGE frame that will hold TONS of pictures. On the plastic covering he wrote Happy Birthday Mommy love Meg, Zack, Ben. We are not romantic kind of people but this was soo nice. It ended perfect. Rain came and we ran through Epcot laughing like high school kids. Got home and boys were tucked in and MEg was packed to go over Grandmas. SOooooo:handkiss:
Okay change topic
Diapers is anyone up to a size 4 yet? My boys all of a sudden have been leaking during the night and wakes them up 1hr earlier! Also anyone still using their carriers as carseats? I haven't changed them yet but really want to. They are VERY short babies so feet are just now extending (OK don't laugh Steph).
Milk-I think my boys are lactose intolerant. Nobody in my family is. They have horrible poopy (couldnt spell diareeeeeeeaaaaa). I tried to wean them to milk and only added 1oz to bottles. After 2 days I stopped. They also started to spit up AGAIN! We havent used milk in a week. poop is back to normal but they are still spitting up. Any suggestions????

Good Morning Mamas! I'm using my new laptop. It is hard to get used to. Our office is in the basement and I tried for awhile to take the twins down there with me, but everything they need is on the main level of our home so I needed a laptop to do ebay and I finally got it. I'm selling on ebay to get rid of baby stuff since I don't plan on having anymore children and to make extra money since I'm not working.
Joy-Everyone is here for you when & if you need it. Just Support No Judgement.
Christel- Your Birthday surprise at the Cheesecake Factory sounds wonderful. Minus the vomit of course.
Jill- I can't believe that TJ got out of her crib. I would be freaking out. I think Christel was right about the crib tent. Also I wanted to ask you where you got Noah's tshirt in the pic. It is so cute!
Missy-:jump: :party2 :jump: Way to go Corey! He'll be walking in no time. As for his helmet my BFF's baby who is now 7 1/2 mos. was only in his helmet just over 2mos. and he is almost at 100%. It will be a distant memory in no time.
Heather- Your birthday sounds awesome! It sounds very romantic though...
I've had L & L in #4 Huggies Sumpreme for nightime for a couple of months. They wear regular Huggies during the day #3. The #4 hold more moisture for night. Once they seem better I would try the milk again just to make sure. If it happens again I would switch to soy.
Steph- How is the Kabul Beauty School? I had read an excerpt in a magazine for this book and it sounded good.
Well hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Mindy, glad to hear you got out to party a bit. Sounds as if you had a well deserved blast! Looking forward to pictures.
Wahoo Corey! With my two, milestones seem to come in clusters! So watch out mom!! :snicker:

Corey wanted to say thank you for the all the support :proud: He is so funny now when you put him in the crib he is up on his feet in now time with such a proud look on his face !!!
Day Care front - I think I found someone - she has been doing day care 21 years and has a 3 boys ages 4,3,2 - so mine would round it all out ! She doesn't want more than the 5 which is perfect in my opinion I wanted a smaller homier environment for them We take the boys to meet her on Monday night and then Thursday I am going to the county office to review her records - since she is licensed by the state the information is all public - I can't even tell you how many people I have talked to and visited - I feel like I am in the home stretch I sure hope it works out !
DHs last day at work is 5/30 and we are having the boys party on 5/27 (birthday is 5/28) so this will be a very busy week.
Work is busy as well but my boss is supportive - he even said he still is planning to promote me to director - and is fine if I continue to work from home on Fridays - gives me more time with the boys - I feel blessed to have an awesome job that supports work/life balance..
Diapers - we are in size 3 at day and huggies size 4 overnights at night because they leak at night otherwise
Bottles/cups - my boys hate sippy cups but drink out of cups directly not sure they will ever use a sippy cup...we started to put 1oz of milk in each bottle and Tyler also started to spit up so not sure what that means.
Sickness/runny noses - we had colds again this week that didn't seem to be getting better so I took them to the Dr this morning - double ear infections for each ! So we have the 5 day antibiotic hoping they feel better by tomorrow and should definitely be better by bday ! I also put ear relief drops in the ears seems to really help the pain.
Weight issues - I feel off the south beach wagon and gained 5lbs I am so frustrated that none of my summer clothes fit and I don't know when I will have time to go to the mall shopping - I need more work clothes because I don't want to look like a fat slob - sorry to vent just frustrated, I want to look like I did 1 1/2 years ago....I just need to be strong and do it...wish me luck..
You ladies have been having some well deserved fun birthdays.
Heather - congrats on getting the school !
Joy - when you are ready to share we will listen and not judge this bunch of ladies are the most supportive you will ever find ! I think I tell you all feelings I don't share with my friends - in fact you all know more of my current life than my long time friends.
Well better get off and do a few work items before the boys wake up they are currenlty napping.
Enjoy your weekend.

Missy - YEAH for COREY!!! I agree, he will be cruising in no time. What a relief about the day care. I hope it all works out. You probably told us, but I forgot...is DH getting a new job?
Heather - Kayley and Corey both tested positive for a milk allergy when they were babies. The ped told me to introduce dairy very slowly. So far, no problems. However, if you suspect something, I would talk to your ped. Try soy and see if that helps.
Mindy - Can't wait to see pics of the party. I hope it was fun!!
Joy - When you are ready to tell, we are ready to listen. I also tell the ladies on this board more then any of my other friends.
Lisa - How was the party? I hope it was warm and sunny!!
Jill - I cannot believe TJ did that!!! She is super baby :)
Diapers - We are in 3's during the day and 4's at night.
Yesterday we had a TON of mulch delivered so we planted flowers and mulched. It rained on us and it took FOREVER. Now, it is all muddy out there from the mulch and rain mixing on the ground. Muscles in my body hurt that I did not even know existed. I could not imagine being a landscaper and doing that type of work everyday!!
So, speaking of Houdini babies, I came out of the bathroom yesterday and Kayley was standing on the ledge that sits in front our bay window knocking on the window. I have NO idea how she got up there.
Our party is next Sunday, I am crossing my fingers for good weather. We still have so much to do to get ready...I am stressing out!!
Have a great day!

Lisa, I don't know how to do that but I believe Heather changed hers and I think Kerrie might have?? I know for sure that Heather did so maybe PM/email her? I hope that everything is ok and if you need anything, we are here for you.
Valerie, we definitely need to keep our ornery escape artists away from each other. Who knows what they might plot! I put TJ in her crib before dh lowered it to the absolute lowest/floor setting. As soon as her feet hit, she stood on her tiptoes, gave me a devilish smile and began to bounce so that she could get a bit higher to go out again. What a little crazy monkey I have on my hands. She had to have fallen/crawled a few feet until she hit soft stuffed animals. I still can't believe she did it. She is crazy! She will head dive off of their little Dora sofa and will support her entire body weight just by her skinny little arms until her feet can hit the ground. :hahaha:

Hey Lisa - I found this in the FAQ:
It is your responsibility to keep the information in your profile up-to-date. You should especially ensure that your email address is kept current. You can alter any of the fields in your profile, except your username. Once you have registered your username, it becomes yours for life. In extreme circumstances, you may request that the administrator change your username, but he or she will require a very good reason to do so.
Here's a thread (http://www.twinsmagazine.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=41424) on changing user names and the admin answered on the thread... so you can use that to pm him (his name's Don).
Girls crying - will get back on later to catch up w/ everyone :)

THANKS for all of your support and trust you have given me. It really makes me comfortable to know you are here for me. I can't tell you what that means to me. You all seem so very close to one another and most of you have never met. Certainly is nice to have friends like that in your life. We have an upcoming appt on June 21st that will determine a possible closure to this whole nightmare. That is why I have been such an emotional wreck lately. My mind is so tired of worrying and trying to understand it all I can't go a single day without tears.
Emily just woke up early from her nap my window to shower is almost over. So I better go. I had a question to ask about what to do about Ethan and his cold/ears so I'll try to post it later. Just needed advice/opinions on what to do???
Be Back Soon!!

Lisa - not sure what you meant by you also got what Felisha did but I received the spam from durkheim as well - just deleted...unless you mean online stalkers anywho hope you can change.
Okay boys are better today since the double/double ear infection -day 2 of antibiotics and so far so good - we are cleaning alot today in prep for next Sunday hoping for sunny skies in DE as well
Valerie DH is NOT getting another job ... the boys will be in day care ( a home day care) 3 days and he will watch mon/Fri the days they are in day care he will be working to get our house built - we bought 15 acres in MD and are ready to build. Once done he will get a new job with better family hours - I am psyched because this will allow me to work at home 1 day a week !!! and will allow me to get to work early since he can drop off then I can jet home early as well - it is weird for the SAHD but in the end I think it is what is best for us all
anywho gotta run...have a good week

Happy Birthday to You,
Happy Birthday to You,
Happy Birthday Dear Logan, Dylan, Ethan and Brady...Happy Birthday to You!!!
Hope you partied like rock stars!!
:itsyourparty: :dancing2: :party2 :elefant:
In spite of the terrible weather, we had a fabulous party for Max yesterday with a siege on the castle, jousting, stick horse races (the rain let up for a bit), and feasting on fine pizza. I'm uploading photos right now so I'll post a link later.
Heather-DS was allergic to whole milk for his entire second year. Terrible diarrhea....we gave him Lactaid (lactose free milk) and that did the trick. It is expensive, but not as much as formula!! Also, we are totally into size 4 diapers.
Jill-I can't believe TJ. How scary! I was just saying that we need to lower Isabella's crib because she is scaling anything and everything....I'm on that tomorrow!
Joy-I think that I missed what happened with you, but I hope that your life gets more peaceful soon....always happy to lend an ear here.
Lisa-do you have snoopy family? I also got spam from "Durkeim" ?-- just in case that is what is worrying you. Hope it isn't anything serious.
Felisha- sorry about the intrusion on your personal space. That's just terrible. I was thinking about that recently-- I have mentioned to some people that I check in here and then thought better of it....probably best to keep it to ourselves, right? Love your video :proud:
Val- what kind of party are you planning? I think I missed that, too! good luck. It sure is so much work (but fun)!
Missy- go Corey!!:cabbage: He is advancing in leaps and bounds! I can't wait to see his picture! Hppe your boys feel better soon.
Alright--more later... DH is going out of town for work to Miami all week....for my birthday even (and his)!!!:y: It's okay, though, because he did a surprise dinner party for me Saturday night and invited some of my best friends. Two of my good friends are coming over with takeout tomorrow night to spend the actual "day" with me (they said that they would do this as long as they can watch "24" :snicker: ) ...I'll probably still miss my hubby, though...I guess I should go spend some time with him now!

Thanks for all the Birthday wishes for my guys. We had a nice party with our families.
As for my ID, my dh's family has read everything I wrote on here, including what I wrote about them. Not sure how they found the site but I was informed about it yesterday at my kid's birthday party. Needless to say, I spent two hours crying in my bedroom. I feel embarrassed, ashamed, humiliated...etc... Also, very violated and angry. I feel like my personal diary was read. So, I want to change my user ID b/c they apparently googled my name and this site came up. But I also think someone became a member so they could read all my posts b/c they knew I posted 500 times. So, I am very reluctant to come on here to post anymore.
I will keep in touch but not sure how much I will post. I can also keep in touch through emails. I am just very upset right now.
I don't want to go into much detail on who approached me b/c they are probably reading this. They were very offended and have every right b/c I posted some mean things about them when I was upset.
Sorry not to respond to everyone. I am thinking of you all and thank you all for your friendships. You have been the only people who truly supported me during the past year (besides my own family) and I am very thankful for that.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Ruby seems to be well... FINALLY! This is the 3rd vomit (and icky diaper)-free day. She's eating a lot better, too, so her tummy must be feeling better. Here's a video (http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e318/snelsonc6896/?action=view¤t=MVI_2779.flv) of her saying her favorite phrase..."hi baby" :D
Jill - glad you got a kick out of the video. It's become something of an inappropriate catch phrase between DH and myself to refer to something new and unusual and say, "it cleans your business... your lady business"
Jen - the party sounds amazing! Have you seen all the cool castle, knight dragon kids stuff at IKEA? I went on Friday w/ a friend and thought of your fun party theme when I saw it.
Joy - Has Ethan been having recurrent ear infections? Several of my friends who dealt w/ that over and over wound up w/ their kids getting tubes in their ears. A girlfriend w/ twins 6 mo. older than mine says that the tubes have changed their lives. The girls still get sick occasionally, but that's it. No ear infections to boot.
Lisa - hope you get the user name stuff taken care of quickly. And a message to anyone of Lisa's reading this uninvited: Get Off!
Missy - that sounds like a great set up for your family until the house is built. Is this your dream home? Are you getting everything you ever wanted in it? The land itself sounds like a dream.
Valerie - what's the theme for the party? I was so relieved to have our party at my parents' so I didn't have to stress about cleaning or spiffing up the yard. It is so stressfull! What a good workout, though! Hot bath, Tylenol, and a heating pad should fix a lot of the ouchies.
Heather- I would try soy for a couple of weeks and see if it makes a difference. A week may not be long enough to tell as far as the poop issues go. And diapers - both girls are in size 3, but I put a 4 on Emme at night (she's got 6 lbs on Ruby). I use the Huggies overnights and they have only leaked once. She had a bottle after the diaper was put and I should have known better.
Kris - :woo: on the new laptop! Is it very hard and time consuming to sell on ebay? I've been toying w/ the idea, but don't know anyone to ask about it.
Mindy - can't wait to see pics of the party :throb: Did XDH make an appearance or give a gift?

Joy - I missed your post too. Please feel free to vent, cry, yell (not at us :) ) anytime. I really pray that this are okay with you. PM me if you want to "talk"
Lisa-I almost cried reading your post. PLEASE DON"T LEAVE!!!!! I can understand being embarrassed and upset at the same time. This is a safe place for you to vent. Dh's family will never meet us. I did change my name and just created a whole new account. This time just don't add your real name. I would also creat a new email address only for us-just incase a google would turn up the new screen name too??? I am so sorry that this overshadowed your most special day! We will ALWAYS be here for you.
Steph-I had so much fun today. I can't wait until the baby gym. Hey bring your items that you want to sell over and I will sell them at my garage sale on Fri/Sat. Oh yeah got my camera, thanks. I am so absent minded. Hahha get it the absent minded professor!:snicker: ...I don't know when I can upload our pictures. My laptop is dying as i type and won't accept any new software.
I know I missed so many posts lately. No excuses...bad friend!

Quick post....
Lisa, OMG, are you even KIDDING me?? What is going on these days?? We'll fix this in a hurry....if I have to, I will set up a different message board that is PASSWORD PROTECTED so that nosy selfish people can't invade our privacy anymore. To those of you who have nothing better to do than spy on your FAMILY, cut us some slack. We are mothers of twins, we put up with a lot, sometimes we need to vent (like you never have??). Please stop snooping and go find something productive to do. :nono: shame shame
Sorry if that's harsh, but it pisses me RIGHT off.
I will post more soon, right now I am waiting for the a/c guy to come by and give us a written estimate for a new system. Ugh. I know it's going to be like $5k. Ours hasn't gone out yet, but it's any day now and I cannot afford ONE day without air.

thank you everyone for your support and your pm's. I am going to pm you back and I will explain what happened. If you want the whole story, pm me. I am just so upset that it happened at my kid's birthday party. I deleted about half of my posts on here. I deleted some that mentioned any personal info on family and I deleted any on my frustrations with the boys, just in case I ever get into a custody battle, which I hope never happens. I am not going to lie, I feel really crappy and have done a lot of crying. I just feel so freaking violated. I know some of the stuff I wrote was harsh, but it was only meant to be read by you all, my true friends. I just can't believe they read this. I really think they got the website off my computer when they were at my house and then did their own snooping. How am I ever going to show my face to them again? ANd the sad thing is they are the only family I have over here. I have never felt so alone. My mom and dad were here when it happened and my dad wanted me to move home. I am such a daddy's girl and I can't do any wrong in his eyes, so he totally had my back. My mom also supported me but did let me know that it was probably wrong to write that stuff, which I agree, but I never in a million years thought it would be read by anyone other than you gals. I googled my last name and this site never popped up. That is what the person told me, that someone googled our last name and then found this website, read everything I ever posted and then told the person about it. I think they just found the website themself. Oh well, not much I can do about it now. Dh was kinda pissed at me but more pissed at the person for bringing it up on the kid's birthday and putting him in the middle. I seriously thought he was going to leave me. But he told me to use it as a learning experience and not post stuff like that anymore. I like the idea to have a site where it's password protected, can we do that??
I will check in later. I love you all and thanks again for all the support.

Lisa: I am so so sorry! Unfreakinbelievable! Look snoopers, how can you be upset at her? Could you imagine if your every thought, or private conversation was made public? Of course it would sound harsh, she is a mom of twins, the most stressful, underappreciated job in the world, do not dare judge her for feeling frustrated, upset or whatever with whomever! Why not take it as a little constructive critiscm if you must snoop!
Steph: I will pm you my email address for the password, thanks so much for taking this on. I still cannot beleive people snoop in here, it is just awful!
Sorry to not respond to everyone, kinda crazy around here!

I am ABSOLUTELY disgusted and mortified that this snooping has happened to not 1, but 2 of our friends. This is a place for twin mommies to go onto and vent their frustrations and brag about their accomplishments. It is meant as a sounding board and until now, has always been a safe and secure place to do this. Whoever is reading Lisa's or Felisha's posts should be ashamed of themselves. You have no business being on here. You have now ruined what all of us have worked so hard for...a place to talk to our friends and confide in them, knowing that we will not be judged. The things that have been said about the stalkers would not of even been brought up if they were not true. Perhaps you should take a good look at yourself and wonder why you are being talked about in the 1st place.
Sorry if this seems harsh, but I am just so appalled!!
Steph - I pm'd you my email address. I am definitely interested in moving to a site that is password protected. Thanks for looking into it for us!!
Lisa - I am truly sick for you. I am so sorry you have to go through this right now. We are all here for you!! Please email or call me when you are up to it.
Steph and Heather - Where did you guys go this weekend? Maybe I missed the post. Also, Heather, you have me worried about Daniele, now. Especially since she hasn't posted in so long.
Daniele - I hope everything is ok with you!!!
Jen - I am going to check out the pics when I am done posting. I am glad that despite the weather, the party was a success.
Christel - I am also going to be checking out your video when I am done posting.
Joy - I hope that you are able to put everything behind you. Always know that when you are ready, we are hear to listen.
Missy - That sounds amazing!! Make sure you post pics as the building progresses.
We are having a party next Sunday for the twins' bdays. They actually turn 1on the day of the party, the 27th. We do not really have a theme. Corey's cake is going to have dinosaurs on it, because ever since he was a newborn, he would make dino sounds and gestures. Kayley's is going to have a ballerina on it because she loves to spin around on the floor. I just cannot believe they are turning 1. I get teary eyed thinking of it. I also bought gift bags for the kids that are coming. I bought Elmo bags. I guess our theme is a lot of things :) We bought them their presents on Friday and already gave them to them. I figured they won't know the difference, plus we needed some new toys to play with!! We got them 2 ride on toys, thanks to Heather's video. We also got a tent with a tunnel coming out of it. They LOVE it. And we got the Little Leap pad for babies. They both love to read books so I thought this would be fun. We haven't tried it yet.
So, for our BIG news...the twins have not had a bottle since yesterday morning!!! It has been tough, but not as bad as I thought. I have just been giving them snacks in place of bottles and offering them sippies with milk. The book I am reading said to set your expectations very low with transitions such as this, and I really think it helps. I just went in thinking it was going to be terrible, so now, when things seem to be going ok, it is a bonus for me. Although, I do not think we are anywhere to being ok with no bottles. Corey has been very clingy and there are periods in the day when they get very angry and cry. But, we are trying.
Happy Birthday Jen and Joy!!! :partygirls: :partygirls: :partygirls: :partygirls:

Alright...here's the deal. After playing around with several different message boards, I have, for now, decided to use Google Groups. Here is how it will work. I have set it up as an invite-only message board. Only those people that I approve for membership can post OR view the messages. Now, b/c this is a Google Group, you do have to have a google user ID, if you don't already. It takes 20 seconds to do, just basically create a username and password. (Just like Yahoo) Please try and create a username that is similar to what you have now, or at least somehow let's us know who's who.
I am thinking that what we can do is use that board when we really want to vent, spill the beans, share secrets, etc and we need the extra protection. You could come on here and say "Check the private site" or "I posted on the private board" or something like that, much like we do when we say "Steph: I PM'd you". Just sort of an FYI that we know to go check the other board for more private posts. Of course, if you guys decide you like the other group enough to post there ALL the time, that's fine too!
However, I know we will all miss the smileys and various wacky emoticons that this board has, which is why I kinda thought the above idea would work.
Next step: go here:http://groups.google.com/group/Twinmamas
The group name is "Twinmamas". So when you click above, you will be taken to a page that says you cannot view the site. Click on 'contact owner to join'. At that point you'll either log in (if you already have registered) or quickly create a Google account. From there, follow the steps.
There are going to be some kinks to work out, I'm sure. Please let me know if you guys are having any trouble with it. It might take some time, but we'll get to a place were there won't be any security/privacy issues any longer.

Val-the cakes sound so cute and thoughtful. I tried to reduce the number of bottles in our house (still 4 per day), and the kids, who LOVE sippy cups, will NOT drink milk out of them!! I don't understand!

Lisa - I love that your daddy had your back. That's exactly as it should be. I'm such a daddy's girl, too :snicker:
OK, here's a funny for today - and also a warning of what's to come X2!
By Jenny (toddler mom)
For My Daughter, Aged Two
She's an angel sent from heaven
who can melt me with one hug,
Her eyes sparkle with mischief,
Oh my God she just peed on the rug.
She's the dearest little two-year-old,
My fragile baby girl.
She's as sweet as cotton candy,
No, you can't bring home that squirrel!
She's a flighty social butterfly
and can always find a friend.
With hugs and kisses for everyone,
w*f, Is that pinkeye again?
She's not precisely perfect
but even when she's naughty,
she's really not all that ba-
NO! NO! NO! WE POOP IN THE POTTY!
She's changed my world so much
in ways I never knew,
She's the dearest person in my life
Even though she's only -I AM SERIOUS YOUNG LADY! PUT THAT SQUIRREL DOWN! No, RIGHT NOW! You're totally going to time out. Oh YES you are. I think someone needs a nap. No, not me...you! Don't you backtalk me. Okay, no Spongebob for you this afternoon. Why? Because I said so, that's why.
Here's the link (http://blogs.chron.com/mamadrama/archives/2007/05/poetic_or_pathe.html) to the original post w/ hilarious accompanying picture of said toddler.

Steph - That video of Bailey is great!!! I love the way babies look when they start walking. Thank you so much for setting up the site. I tried to contact owner and there must be something wrong with the site right now because it would not go. I will try later.
Jen - I think your website is really nice. Your party looks like it was a lot of fun! What a cool idea!
Felisha - I am glad you posted. I was afraid you were not going to post as much. I cannot wait to see pics from the party. How long have they been married? Did she know about the twins beforehand? If she cannot trust him then maybe they should not be married...sorry if I stepped over the line, just my opinion. She should be encouraging him to be a part of his children's lives.
Christel - That poem is very cute!! I was laughing.
Lisa - I am worried about you. I hope you post to let us know that everything is ok.
Monica - We haven't heard from you in awhile. I hope all is well!
So, last night, the twins went down pretty easily with no bottles. Now tonight, they went down fine again until now. They are both up there screaming. I feel really bad. I hate listening to them cry like that. Corey seems like not himself today. My mommy instinct tells me it is more then just the bottles. I do not know if he is getting sick, teething, or what. His cry is breaking my heart right now. Ok, I better go and feel like a terrible mom!

god, where do i start!?
sorry i've been gone. lots going on here. i'll never catch up, so i'm not even going to try. i hope you don't mind.
i think i've figured out that someone has been snooping on our board?? that is so ridiculous. i hope that this doesn't break us up! i love and need you ladies!! steph - thanks so much for taking charge and getting us an alternate space. i will pm you.
here's where we are at.......my dad had double knee replacement surgery two weeks ago. he had some complications right after and was in the ICU for a few days. he is doing much better now, and he is in a rehab hospital. but it has been a long two weeks with no end in sight (for the near future).
the girls' party is june 3rd. somehow we are at FIFTY adults and THIRTY children. i'm having panic attacks about how i will get everything done. of course, i am going full out - no holds barred on this, since it is their first birthday. but we waited so long for them to come to us, i just see this as a big gigantic celebration of them. i swear i am more stressed about this than i was a year ago about their birth! what will i be like for their weddings!?
we are also having a bunch of little things done around the house (landscaping, cleaning, painting, etc.) so every day it seems like we have someone here. and i'm trying to juggle being here with being with my dad and/or mom a few times a week.
so, i'm sorry that i'm not around, because it seems like i've missed some pretty huge things. but probably i won't be around much until after the party.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ETHAN & BRADY and DYLAN & LOGAN!!!
:birthday: :birthday: :birthday: :birthday: :birthday:
there's going to be sooo many birthdays coming in the next few weeks. i keep thinking about this time last year and getting VERY nostalgic.
i love, love, love all of you ladies. i really wish i could respond individually, but i don't have time tonight.

hello ladies!
Sooo much has gone on the past few days it is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I was having trouble posting earlier so we'll see if this works. I lost a post then started over and lost it again and I gave up. I don't know what is wrong.
Lisa-Sorry to hear about your meddling IL. Why is it that we are made out to be the bad person here? You wouldn't be in this situation if you didn't have to let off steam from them making rude comments to you. Does your DH not know that you are upset with what they do and say? If he is aware and he just stands there and lets it happen then he should be ashamed of himself. You did nothing wrong here. I'm sure that your IL do their fair share of snooping and backstabbing behind your back, but YOU ARE A BETTER PERSON BECAUSE YOU DON'T PUT YOUR NOSE WHERE IT DON'T BELONG!!! I have had lots of issues with IL current ones and X's my XIL still to this day they try to rule my life because cuz of DD#1 I don't know why but they manage to get to me even after 11 years of being divorced. The way I see it is if you let this bother you than they have won, whether it is to get you and DH to argue or just to make you look bad. Shrug it off and think back to why you felt the way you did and you will see you had every reason to be upset at the time and the H3ll with them!!!!
Steph-It is a shame that we are the ones to have to make a move but we are with you.
Diapers size 3 during the day and size 4 at night. I have been doing the size 4 for about 3 weeks do to major leakage. I also tried PAMPERS and they suck!!
Anyone else had this problem or was it the kind I bought. I loved them with DD#2 what happened. IL always buy me Huggies so I bought Pampers (had coupons)
Infant carriers-Still using although we don't carry unless sleeping. It may be awhile til we change not quite near 22 lbs. Last ck was 16/17??
~HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEN~
Jill-I can't believe TJ managed to get out of her crib what an acrobat!! So far Ethan has not been to daring he has only fallen in the tub without water of course. He loves a bath.
Missy-Sounds like you found someone reliable for the boys.
Andrea-How old is your Dad? Young to have knee replacements? My neighbor had hers done she had a rough time at getting around for along time. She is 86.
Christel-I don't even want to think of the terrible twos x 2. I have a 6 year old that still is in them sometimes. I loved what you said about the smilies:)
Valerie-Corey and Kayley's party sounds cute. We are doing about the same thing no real theme here either. I ordered invitations with balloons. I'm still not sure what to put on their cakes? I too will pray for nice weather we're planning to BBQ.
Oh The question I wanted to ask about Ethan's ears is really not that big of a deal he seems fine now. I think he is just teething again after finishing Augmenten from an ear infection. I just hate to call the Doctor again I feel like I bother them all the time.
Well I really need to get to bed and rest up. My parents are supposedly coming over early tomorrow morning to let me have a day of NO KIDS to do what I want for my B-Day. At first I was unsure what will I do all day?
Now I have a list of things I want to do? Mall,Get hair done(maybe?) Toy shopping for twins B-day? DH even gave me $500 to spend a few days ago and I can now really enjoy spending it!!!
oh One more question Do you think it is tacky to register the twins for their birthday or would that seem too pushy? I want your honest opinions? My sisters think I should??
Catch up to you later on tomorrow.
Sorry such a long post hopefully I wont' loose it. I'll be pi$$ed.

Joy - Personally, I would not register for their bday. I would just let people get what they want. Just my opinion....
Andrea - I am glad your dad is doing better. I am sure it is going to be a long recovery.
Well, the babies eventually stopped crying last night. Kayley kept crying on and off till around 9:30pm. Then, I did not hear anything out of them until 7:15am this morning. We will see what happens today...
I tried the google site this morning and I was able to post a message.
Have a great day!

Hey all...
Many many thanks to all of you who are so excited and 'on board' with changing message boards. I checked into using the same administrator as Twins Magazine, but it isn't free. (As much as I love you guys, I'm not paying $85 to start a message board! :) ) The Google groups thing was what I came up with yesterday, and I just was not/am not happy with it. It doesn't seem very user friendly and I noticed how it takes 5 or 10 mins before your post will show up. Also, the messages are 'collapsed', meaning you have to click to open and see responses.
So, I'm playing around with other options and I think I may have come up with one. It truly is password protected. I can email you the password or call you with it. I'm going to paste a link here and it is a test to see if it works as I have set it up to. Bear with me again...I"m trying to make this right.
:)
If you click on this, hopefully it will take you to the new site, but you won't get in b/c you don't know the password yet.
http://www.freepowerboards.com/twinsboard/
Okay, for all of you who emailed me yesterday, I'm going to send you the password now. It seems like this might just work. Please let me know which site you like better and that is the one we'll go with. :)
vthompson
05-22-2007, 10:56 AM
Steph - I agree...I did not like that you cannot view all the messages like we do on here. I also agree with not paying money!! I clicked on the link you posted and it worked. I could not read anything because I did not have the password. If you still have my email, can you send me the password?
Where is everyone today???
So this is probably a dumb question, but I was wondering what people were dressing the twins in for the bday parties? Are you getting "I am 1 year old" tshirts or just putting them in regular clothes?

Wow.. a gal is off the boards for a few days and all heck breaks loose...
I'm all in on the new boards... Snoopers are Poopers in my book.
I pmed Steph and will sign on the new boards when I get a chance.
So here is what I can say to catch up...
Heather - The boys have been in 4s for a few weeks. Although Ben isn't in the weights listed on the box, the diapers still seem to fit him. We switched to the carseats vs. carriers about 3 months ago. The boys are more comfortable. We are still rear-facing because the boys aren't a year yet.
Joy - Don't register for gifts. If you get something you don't like just take it back and get something else. People normally include gift receipts.
Valerie - I am getting the boys 1st birthday bodysuits (or onesies - what ever you call it at 12mos). I am looking at www.CafePress.com. I need to order soon...
Steph - Love the video... When they start walking it is so precious...
Jen - Happy Bday! I haven't had a chance to look at your pictures but I will try to get to that today.
Andrea - 80 bodies at the bday party! You are amazing! I could never handle a crowd like that. I would have to be medicated. (More so than normal)
Joy - Happy Birthday!!!! I am so jealous of your day! Enjoy!
Christel - Your girls are darling!!! I just know my boys will fall head over heels.
Jill - Where are you?
Okay so now the "me" stuff -
My Dad - He has finally been diagnosed with MRSA which is a wicked staph (sp?) infection. Antibiotics don't seem to work on it and just cause it to get resistent. So he is going to have to fight it himself. They are talking about putting the trach back in.
Twin's Birthday - My DH is driving me nuts (for anyone snooping - his name is Paul and just let me know if you would like to tell him that I said he was drivine me nuts... his reply would be "I know, she told me"... If I have to look at another ride-on toy or activity table, I am going to scream... I was left to take care of the boys for the last 3 days because he was sitting on the computer looking for their presents... I'm excited for their birthday too but I think I would like to go to the store and see this stuff in person... Call me crazy but I sometimes like to see in person before I buy... I know I'm ancient in my shopping habits.
Because I spent so much time with the boys this weekend and Monday (had shots in my back - wasn't as effective as last time but still good) I was thinking of some things that I love about my boys that I have to share:
Zachary - my charmer
1. I love that when he is tired he puts his thumb in his mouth and lays his head on you.
2. I love that you have to work to make him smile.
3. I love that he will give this half grin that says "You sort of amuse me!"
4. I love that he will lay his entire body down on the cat.
5. I love that he is trying so hard to stand and walk by himself.
Benjamin - my Diva (or what ever the male version of that is)
1. I love that Benner claps his hands and laughs after eating dinner.
2. I love that Benner tries to run the last few steps toward you and ends up throwing himself in your arms.
3. I love that Benner does smooshy face when he is concentrating.
4. I love that Benner gives wet, wet kisses! (he kissed my belly this weekend while I was laying on the ground and I thought "you have now kissed me inside and out... sick, but it made me cry...)
5. I love that Benner will still fall asleep on me if he is tired.
Thanks for letting me share ladies.

Okay so I have 4 minutes until the end of my work day and I don't want to start anything new... So I thought I would share some more stuff to make you gals smile...
My boys (who have gagged on every solid thing we tried to feed them until about a month ago) ate broccoli last night and liked it!!! Who knew broccoli could make me clap and yell in excitement.
I am wearing a new bra today that I believe is trying to actively reject my boobs... I believe it will go into the only when all others are dirty pile.
If I hear a fart in our house, I am always asking who did it... DH or the boys... so yesterday, I let one go (everybody does it, or we will explode) and I raised my hand without thinking so DH would know it was me and not the boys (saying no need to check the diapers). Now my DH is doing it all the time. I told him last night that his arm was going to get tired...
Okay my day is over...
Talk to you tomorrow.
Kt.

Kerrie - I am cracking up at your posts. You really are so, so funny. Sorry about your dad. I'll keep praying. He's fought for so hard; I'm sure he can fight this, too. I love your lists, too.
Car Seats - we are still in the Graco carriers. STILL using the Snap 'n Go, although whoever is in back sometimes kicks the front seat, but they never seem to mind. We're probably going to get the Britax seats, but I'm keeping these Gracos as long as we can. And I still don't know what I'm going to get for our next double stroller.
Diapers - we are in Huggies size 3 and will probably be for a while. My girls are still wearing some 3-6 months stuff. Can you believe it!? I'm dying to put them in all of their new summer stuff, but a lot of it is too big.
Birthday outfits - We are dressing them in sweet little dresses with flowers on them (did I mention that it's a "garden party" theme?). I need a back up outfit or two. I'm going to go looking tomorrow.
My dad is doing better, thanks everyone for your thoughts. He just turned 74. He played football in high school and college and totally wrecked his knees. He's been in pain almost his whole life. We have all been pushing him to get this operation for years. But he had to decide to do it when he was ready. The rehab is so much work, but hopefully it will all be worth it.
I went back to the posts from this time last year. I found one from me where I shared that my poop was orange. Boy - we really do not hold back around here, do we? If you have time, you should really go back. It was so much fun reading about all the babies' arrivals.
Sorry I didn't respond to everyone, but I've got to get downstairs to watch the last AI.
G'night!

Boy am I tired. We had a great party! Almost all of my family and my hubby's family were here. We were missing one neice and one nephew.
The boys got lots of fun new toys. Their 3 year old cousin was having a blast playing with them. He had even more fun playing with Jacob! I told Jacob that was good practice for him since he was going to have 2 going all out like that very soon.
Both boys are walking! Tate has been walking for a few weeks now, and David decided last weekend to go ahead and go for it. He is still a little wobbly, but can walk farther and farther every day. I'm so glad he did it before his birthday. We got them the Fisher-Price Laugh and Learn Mower and Vaccum, and they had so much fun pushing them around tonight.
I'm just about to crash. We drove here from Houston late Friday night - from 7:45pm to 2:45am. It was ok for the first half then Tate just started screaming - he had a bubble he couldn't get up while strapped in his car seat. We stopped at a Wal-mart somewhere in Louisiana at 11:20 to buy Mylicon and got him out and bounced him around for a while until he burped.
He finally settled down and went back to sleep and we made it home. Of course as soon as we got to my inlaws house, they were wide awake and didn't go back to sleep until after 4am! With all the rushing around today getting things ready for the party, I am beat.
Here is a photo of the boys that we had put on the cake. I won't even get into the whole cake fiasco right now. :bawling: But at least the picture was cute! Tate is the Hunny Pot, David is Pooh.

Well, I am off to bed. I'm hoping the boys will sleep through tonight. They are exhausted. They played so hard tonight.

Thankyou...it's really a coincidence (is there a spell check somewhere) that it sounds like Irma...I immigrated with my parents when I was four back in the dark ages. So my kids called my mother Oma, my dad Opa and my grandmother Old Oma.
I love the website too, it gives me another place to visit when I miss the girls (always). DD has some short movies of them on You Tube, if you want to see them search kjdudek. The one of them pushing the car is the cutest IMO.
Wow, it feels so weird to post here after lurking all this time, kind of like being exposed but I like it :aok:

Hi all! I'm new around here, but my boys were due June 15, 2006 (based on a singleton pergnancy) and born June 7, at 38.5 weeks. Heather, that video was great. It certainly made me feel better about giving the boys each their own cake, just for them. We had a party for them over the weekend, so we just did cake for their birthday. I'm wondering how much whole milk I should be giving the boys at this point. We are currently giving each boy 16 ounces a day. They also get the cheese, yogurt, and other forms of calcium. Any advice?

06-23-2007, 07:47 PM
Hi Carrie and congrats on your boys and their b-day! :)
Our pedi said between 16 and 24 oz of whole milk/ day. It can be on the lower end if they're eating lots of dairy in other ways.
My girls were due on June 21, but had to come at 32 weeks on April 27. I imagine we're dealing w/ similar things b/c of the adjustment for my girls' milestones.

Carrie-welcome to the board. How did you come to find this place? Happy birthday to you boys. Mine were born only afew days before yours. I give Zack and Ben 2 bottles (6 oz) and 1 sippy cup of 1/2milk 1/2 formula. I still think mine have a reaction to whole milk. They are on soy formula. I also give them the cheese, yoguart, cream cheese too which they do good on???
Are you a stay at home mom (SAHM)? I am on "vacation" for the summer-I am a 4th grade teacher.
Can't wait to see pictures of your little men. Again welcome to the board!

Christel- Thanks for the info. My mother said about 16 ounces a day also, but sometimes she can be real old school about things like that. I'm sorry your girls had to come so early. I bet they are doing just fine though. How much did they weigh? I was quite lucky that my boys had very little in complications. They stayed in the NICU for only two and four days for low blood sugar levels (I'm diabetic- not gestational).
Heather- I don't know how I found the site, I was just looking around. I find this site hard to navigate sometimes. Anyway, my guys could not handle the soy or "regular" formula so they were put on Alimentum. Ironically, they seem to handle the whole milk better. I just don't want to waste it. It cost me $4.00 a gallon and we go through a gallon in just two days just for the boys, nevermind what my DH drinks. Sorry for the whine. It just feels good to be able to talk to someone else who understands.:shakehands: I am not a SAHM. I work in a school as well. I am currently a paraprofessional, but I am applying for teaching positions. I kind of have the summer off. I am working summer school (for one month-three days a week) and I have a bunch of classes to take trying to keep up my certification. I am certainly enjoying the extra time with the boys though. Sometimes I feel guilty about how little time I have with them, but I also know that we need the money, so I don't worry about it as much. I figure it is not the tiime, it's the quality of the time.

I can't get on either. Not sure what the deal is. Maybe that's why it was so quiet yesterday.

Did you guys see the message that the board is down for maintenance? It came up today when I tried to log on.

I saw the message. Actually, last night when I finally got on, I made a post, but I'm not sure if it made it on or not, so I saved it. I wonder if it is still in copy. Lets try.
Hi everyone! I am so excited that I actually have time to type without worrying about the boys. Usually I am trying to type while they are in here, or while they are eating and in their chairs, but, they have started going to bed sooner, so I can type at a decent time without worrying about them.
Stacy- I can't beleive it. The news about Drew is wonderful!!! He must be progressing nicely. I have been doing the same thing, about feeding, only I use plastic forks. I will poke the food and give the boys the fork. I like to do it this way, because the food will stay on better. It seems like a better chance for success to me. Greg will try to use his fork almost every meal now. He will even through a fit if I try to take it away. Dave just holds the fork unless I put something on it, but then he can put it in his mouth. I like the idea of using the cheap camera for outings, too.
Joy- Congrats on the full night sleep. I am worried that the earlier bedtime for my guys means they are going to wake up earlier. I hope not. They used to sleep from about 8:00 to at least 7:00, although if we let them fuss a little they would sleep to 8:00. The latest they ever slept was 9:30. I am hoping that because they are napping for less time, they are catching up at night and won't wake up earlier. Just wondering, do you haave a routine at bedtime? Our guys know that once the story starts, it is time to settle in. Great news on Shadow. I love cats. My DH used to joke that if the cat was sick or hurt he would just take it out to the woods and take care of it, rather than paying a huge bill, but one of our cats broke his leg (actually, DH accidentally stepped on him in the middle of the night) and we paid to have his leg set and a pin put in.
Kerrie- Welcome back! Sorry about your work schedule. I no longer work those types of hours, but even the hours that I do work, my Mil and FIL seem to give me grief about. Your DH is absolutely correct that you are a very important person in your boys lives. As long as the time you spend is quality time, everything will work out. Rather than giving the boys a milk bottle at bedtime, I just leave a bottle with water in their PNP's. My mother once said that when we wake up at night we are usually thirsty, so they probably are too. This way, if they wake up at night, they can take care of this themselves.
Christel- I'm glad the dairy free is helping Ruby's tush. It seems like it is taking a long time to get the results of her biopsy though. I am looking at a program called a Graduate Assistant. I can't work where I am, but, I would get a $1500.00 a month housing stipend, full dental and medical, at the end of the 3 year program, I would have my masters in Psychology (tuition free) and trained in Applied Behavior Analysis which is in huge demand here in Mass. as a SPED technique to work with Autistic children. My DH is very skeptical about the program, but, $1500 is more than I currently make a month and it is tax free. I would also be fully responsible for a classroom of my own. Now the downfall. The place where I would be working is about an hour and fifteen minutes away. That would mean an hour and a half less time with the boys after subtracting the time I already drive. I really want to look into this though. I am thinking, that for three years, it is not that bad. The housing stipend would pay our mortgage plus some. I think this is what Ireally want to do, but I am still looking for other jobs as well.
Steph- Can you send me my password again? I forgot it, and have only been able to log in as guest. Then, I can;t delete these extra postings I have recently been adding.
Well, gotta go, I have a workshop to attend in the morning.

"Why was your Day so Rough?" Dave
Yeah! It saved it. I don't know if the pictures will come up or not. If not, I will go in and edit it. They work!!! So this is my post from lat night. On todays agenda, the workshop was okay. After that I had to go help one of my riding students bathe his horse for a show. The tricky thing is that I am judging at it tomorrow, but I don't think he is in any of the classes I'm judging. Because I have to leave at six a.m. my in-laws are taking the boys for the night (DH is working). I am boy free for the night. I should call my bf and have her come over. Anyway, I have written a book. Talk to you all later.

Carrie-I saw your post on the other board so it did work. Meg would be so jealous that you work with horses. She has been begging to find a place to go on a trail. The only horses she has been on has been at petting zoos.
Zack puckered up and gave a real kiss today. When I ask for a kiss they both usually give me an open mouth kiss which is cute too.
Ben knows nice. He will rub the top of his head or someone elses head when I saw nice.
Today they also made a growl sound when I said doggie. We don't have one but most of the seniors in our neighborhood do.
So many changes in the last few weeks. Still no real words but follow directions much better. They know sit. I feel like I am training dogs. :)
Well the boys and I got a head cold. YUCK. I volunteered with Crayola and Walmart to help with back to school and get a $100 gift card in a few weeks. I go in tomorrow. Hopefully keeping busy will help me forget how yucky I feel. I feel bad. So not in the mood to play eventhough I know this is the last real week before I go back to school on Monday :( :(

Heather,
What state do you live in? If you are close by maybe we can work something out to give Meg a ride, even in the road? I loved the comment about training dogs. I feel like that so often. I will tell one of the boys to sit (in his chair), or tell him "No" and feel like I am talking to a dog. My DH laughs at me for it, but at this stage, I often feel that there is not much I can do about it. I don't want it to sound like a choice, so it sounds like a command.

Carrie-we live in Fl. I feel the same way about making it sound like a command. I felt the same with Meg and she is still a very sweet obedient girl. I rarely have to scold her any more and I really think it was bc I was strict when she was little.
Swapping personalities-anyone else have babies switch behaviors? I fell like I have Jekyl and Hyde.
ok hoping the meds kick in so I fall asleep.:snicker:

I'm around Heather. I have been checking all day too. The boys were fussier than anything today. My DH finally got up around five and I took off for a couple of hours. Thank Goodness! Any time they fell, they would cry. If they tried to get a toy, and couldn't, they would scream. If one took a toy from another, they would both scream. And it happened like that all day! They are not usually like that, but they are both cutting like, three teeth, so they are unusually cranky.
Cute comparison with Jekell and Hyde. My boys have done that a couple of times. A mom of adult twins told me this would happen several times throughout their lives.
Florida, huh? I guess that would be too far for a trail ride. Sorry.
All right. Time for dinner and bed! Hopefully the board will be back up soon.

ARRGHH: What is up with our wonderful secure site?
Heather: Yes I totally have a Jeykell and Hyde action. Isabelle has become the dominant one. She is sooo bossy! They both understand sit, Aiden will comply sometimes Isabelle just laughs at us. She is going to be such a handful!
Carrie: The job sounds interesting, sorry it is so far.
Monica: are you out there? I hope to see you next week.
Take care Mommies!

Hey everyone -
We are safely in Nashville! I got up at 3:30am this morning and left home by 4:25a. The trip went really well. Only had to really stop once. Got here around 12:45p.
Staci - I'll call you later.
Our site needs to get up and running again! I hope everyone is well.
