It all depends on position, they could just be kicking each other, or placenta.
17 might be a little early, but soon you'll be wondering how to sleep through the octopus like movements :p

This is my 5th & 6th babies. One would think that I would have felt these girls right away.. I didn't. I didn't start feeling them regularly until 21 weeks. Around 19-20 weeks.. I was feeling them but it was SO faint that I was questioning if it was them or not. Oh, and I would feel them SO low for awhile after that too! So, I would try not to worry. GOsh that is SO much easier said than done. Call your doctor if you are just unable to relax about it. That should help ease your mind.

you've probably been feeling them but dont even realize it. Those little butterfly ripples, and flutters.

I hardly ever felt mine move. Every night my husband and sometimes step-daughter would sit beside me while I laid on the couch and they would try to feel the babies move. They rarely ever had success. In fact, I don't really remember feeling them move a lot until after week 28 or so. When I did finally begin to feel them move, I'd be laying on the couch and I'd lift up my shirt to see if I could actually see them moving. I swear as soon as I did that it was like they knew I was watching and they would stop moving all together. It was rather freaky.

My babies are 9 months old. I didn't feel them move until around 28 weeks because the placenta was on top and absorbed the kicking. Once I got to 28 weeks they were big enough that I could feel the kicking around the outside edges...try not to worry...it may be a blessing in that they aren't waking you up at night with a lot of movement. I felt "butterfly" type movements a little before 28 weeks, but not much earlier. I worried about it at the time since everyone kept telling me "you should be feeling kicks by now". Even for ultrasounds I could see them moving on the monitor, but couldn't feel them. Once they were even hiccupping and I couldn't feel it!

Congratulations and try not to worry about it too much...definitely call your doctor if you are concerned, though...that is what he/she is there for.

Like many of those who posted before me, I felt my twosome moving "late" in the game...probably "for sure" twins in motion around 20 weeks. (Earlier, I think I had been optimistically attributing my intensified pregnancy gassiness to the babies! ;) )

Just another heads up: I got very concerned late in the pregnancy especially around 34 weeks, because movement happened with less and less frequency.

Needless to say, if you experience the same, obviously please let your ob/gyn know; BUT later in twin pregnancies, the "space" becomes so limited that movement is trickier for the babies to embark upon.

Like others have said, you'll be feeling it soon!
All the best, and congrats on your twin pregnancy!
