For all of those who are or have experienced this pain.... what can one do to ease the pain??? I haven't found anything that works!!!! I tried telling my doc.'s about this and they keep dismissing it as round ligament pain or that its just everything stretching ecspecially b/c of pregnant with twins. It is so bad that it brings tears to my eyes. I even went to the chiropractor to see what he says and he didn't have an answer. Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell them the pain I have been experiencing!! I have been feeling this pain since I was 24 weeks along and now am almost 34 weeks along. I've given up and I don't know what else to do!!!! I would have to say this is the worst pain I have ever felt before in my entire life!!! If my house caught on fire in the middle of the night...I wouldn't be able to get out of bed quick enough. Does it go away after giving birth??? I never had this before in my other pregnancy.... Take care and thanks!

Oh I know exactly the pain you are talking about and it is terrible. It was in my groin area and the pain was almost unbearable. It brought me to tears a few times. Can you take baths? A warm bath might help, or how about having your dh rub it? I know that sounds funny, but mine did and it helped some. Nothing really took the pain completely away though. Yes, once you have the babies the pain does go away, it did for me right away. UGH, I know what you are going thru, just thinking about it right now I want to cry! Good luck and you are sooo close, hang in there.

I had it too. Not as bad as it sounds like you do but I was very uncomfortable! And any extra moving around just made it worse for the next couple days. I agree with Janie though, it does go away almost immediately after delivery. And since your 34 weeks now you probably don't have too much longer to go. Hang in there!

I've also had the pain....it kind of shoots down the inside of my leg. Normally it has only happened to me while I am walking....I think it has something to do with the sciatic nerve....the best thing for me has been just to take it easy and lay down when it starts hurting. Yours sounds really extreme though...it must be the positions of your babies. Try to stay off your feet as much as possible! Hang in there!!

Oh girl, you are NOT crazy! I have this pain and have had it since 17,18 weeks or so! It sucks!! I can't move without it hurting and you're right, I couldn't possibly get out of bed in time! The best I can do at getting out of bed or off the couch is to try not to use my legs at all. I put my knees together and roll off the bed or couch. Same thing when I have to turn over in bed...I usually try to sit up a bit and scooch my butt if that makes sense. I think it all has to do with the weight of the babies on your pelvis, I guess. I did have this with my other two kids but not until the 8th month or so...much earlier with the twins. But it does go away as soon as you deliver. I don't have much for advice on getting rid of it (other than laying completely still)...I have tried baths and they do help but it doesn't ever go away for long. Also, resting helps a bit. Walking/standing seems to make it worse. Which makes sense if its the weight of the babies. My dr. hasn't said that its not normal just that I'm getting it early. Great, huh?! :o Believe me, its made me want to cry a LOT so you're not alone. You don't have much longer though and you won't remember it after those babies come! Take care!

Oh I know that pain. I've had it for some time now. I mostly get it when sleeping. I wake up and my crotch hurts so bad, that just like some of you I wouldn't be able to get out of the house quick enough if there were a fire. I've tried sleeping with a pillow between my legs, which does help but then I try to turn over with the pillow and get stuck on my back. When I wake up like that, I have other pains. Usually if I can sleep totally sprawed out, in other words DH sleeps in the spare room, I don't seem to have the problem as often. Hope it gets better for you soon! :)

Ah yes, the EVIL CROTCH PAIN, also known as the 'rode a horse for 24 hours straight', 'too much time with the thighmaster pain', or the 'smashed my crotch on the bar on my bike pain'.
I've been there:
Here is my old thread when it first developed... (http://bwi169.tempdomainname.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=15592)
Mine was soooooo bad. Couldn't move my legs without tears in my eyes. It was AWFUL. I searched the internet high and low for answers and found nothing. Mine developed at 28 weeks and I suffered until I delivered at 36 weeks. Nothing I did made it go away except for not to move. I ended up on bed rest, so that made it easier. Like everyone said, you're almost there. Hang in there... think about your little babies on the way. It's all worth it!

I'm right there with you guys. First it started out as a pain in my lower back, then it went down the inside part of my leg, now it feel like I got a good swift kick right in the crotch.
The Dr told me that it's Sciatic pain and there is really nothing that can be done for it. I did find, however, that sometimes (and ONLY sometimes) wearing a maternity belt helps a little. It especially helps for the round ligament pain. I'm 21.1 weeks and am really dreading the next 4-5 months with this pain.

I experienced the same pain when I was pregnanat with the boys. It started for me when I had to go on bed rest at 32 weeks (I delivered at 36). I found this pain to be much worse than my actual labor pains. And it did not go away after I delivered! It was worse than before. The only time I didn't feel it was when I had the epidural. The doctors and nurses didn't take me too seriously either. They probably thought I was a wimp but it killed.
Sorry I can't offer any good advice but I do feel for you. I hope it gets better.

My pain started around 24 weeks, but only after laying on my side. By 29 weeks it was after laying in any 1 position too long. It peaked around 33 weeks when it was constant. Then it just suddenly disappeared. I think it was the weight of the babies on my pelvis, because the pain disappeared just after the babies seemed to shift positions. We measured my belly weekly & I was usually barely an inch bigger, but that time my waist measured 2 inches bigger.
I borrowed crutches. They didn't take away any of the weight of the babies, but I could lift the weight of my own upper body off my pelvis. I could also kind of swing my feet forward instead of having to pick them up.

I don't know if my pain was identical to yours. I was walking a lot before it started -- in fact, it seemed to start from some extra long hike. It was unbearable -- couldn't walk past 2 or 3 stores in a mall before I had to sit down -- which only occasionally helped.
I stopped walking initially. My husband suggested a support belt with suspenders. I showed my doctor who said it was probably round ligament pain and said he saw no harm in trying a belt. My husband was convinced it was a muscle problem (he felt it and said it was tight). But the pain was so bad that I just decided to buy a regular support belt from the baby store. My husband helped me tighten it up good. Then, I tried walking a short period (I think I started with 10 minutes) on an eliptical machine. Still hurt afterwards. But, I did this for several days in a row. Eventually (weeks) the pain completely disappeared. Just started the 34th week and I'm up to 30 minutes a day with no pain and as of the last checkup (end of 32 weeks) the babies were doing fine.
So, hopefully this will help someone. But, of course, I would never have tried this without my doctor's advice (so, obviously, I don't think you should either).
Good luck to you,

i am so glad i am not the only one! everyone sharing their experiences have been very helpful. i have been having the crazy groin pain since my 23rd week. it felt like i had just finished doing 200 sqwats. i know its the weight of my boys, who happen to be above average in size( lucky me). i'm relieved to know that this will eventually go away..i am 27 weeks tomorrow. the only thing thats seems to help me is to lay down. hang in there. when you look into your angels eyes you'll know... in the end its worth all the pain. good luck.meagan
