I'm sure there are tons of past posts about this but I wanted some current opinions. I am thinking about purchasing a double umbrella stroller. Do any of you have problems using them while shopping (getting it between racks?) or getting it to fit through doorways? That is my biggest concern right now. I have the Graco Duo Glider and it's great but whoever sits in front leans herself over the edge to look back at her sister..plus the seat in the front doesn't recline all the way which makes nap time difficult while were out. Any suggestions?

Michelle,
We have the double umbrella stroller as our only stroller. It has been great for us. When the girls were tiny, it wasn't appropriate, but we didn't use a stroller much then anyway. (We could put the carriers into shopping carts, etc.) I have never had problems fitting in places like doorways, etc. Sometimes you have to make sure the wheels are straight because the fit is "exact" into normal doorways, but that's not been a big issue. The only times that are difficult come when shopping, particularly around the holiday season because stores tend to load up their aisles with extra displays, etc. I was SOOO glad when Baby Gap finally took away the skateboarders display because it was always in the way! Anyway, there will always be a place or so that you can't navigate, but I think that's true of the long front/back stroller too, isn't it? Plus the double umbrella isn't nearly as heavy or bulky in the car. :) We took our girls to the flea market this weekend and there were a few places we couldn't get the stroller, but the main aisles were no problem. All that said, we also have two single umbrella strollers that were giveaways at TRU; we use them in impossible situations like a local consignment shop that was full of booths.

Good luck with your decision. Our girls are ok in the stroller, but like to lean around and turn around if they can, but that's just fidgetiness, I think. :)

We've had our double umbrella stroller (Peg Perego Aria Twin) since birth also. I agree that the Duoglider is nice for the first six months, but we too didn't go many places that we needed a stroller then. The side-by-side is definitely coming in handy now and because most shopping places HAVE to be wheelchair accessible now, we haven't had a specific problem ANYWHERE yet. Make sure both seats recline. Our daughters will actually fall asleep for the whole shopping trip in theirs. And the lightweight is a BIG plus in my book.

Best wishes!
