I love reading everyone's birth stories, I just wish mine would come soon. I'm 37 weeks and my Dr. refuses to put me on Bed Rest, so I am still working. I've been walking my heart out and it is still not helping me dilate. I am 3cm, and barely have any contractions. But of course I am having problems breathing, and I have been getting these strange headaches for a few days now. But yesterday when I went to see him all he says is you are doing great, if the babies don't come in two weeks we will induce you on Sept 9, that is crazy, I will be 39 weeks. I've only gained 22 pounds with this pregnancy, so I was getting very worried the babies were not taking on too much weight. But luckily I went to see the Specialist yesterday as well with my last ultra sound and Baby A (Eric) is weighing in at 7lbs 1oz and Baby B (Erica) is weighing at 6lbs 15oz, so now knowing they are at a really good weight, i feel more miserable knowing they are getting pretty big, and can get much bigger in 1 week. I'm thankful that they are at a really good weight, but at this point I can not feel any more miserable, But since they don't see any medical reason for me to get induced right now, I will just keep going until they decide to want to come out. So does anyone have any idea on how I can bring on my labor? I eat spicy stuff all the time, so that isn't going to help, and sex, well that just doesn't seem like the most comfortable thing to do at this point. Any other ideas???

there are pressure points that, through massage, are supposed to induce labor. it's around your ankles I think...google it. :)

Ugh 39 weeks until induction...that is crazy! Keep us posted. I know how you feel..week 37 was pretty awful. I can't believe you're still working!!!!

Okay so if you are truly ready and your body is ready, castor oil will work..I did not do it with the twins, but my second daughter definatly came because of it... I was 3 cm for a week or so and I was done... so if you want to know more PM me and I will share how to take it and what i did.. it is very safe...

I don't have any suggestions, but I definitely feel for you...39 weeks is crazy. Hopefully babies & body will want to cooperate before then. Good luck.

Oh...I feel for you too. We went 38 weeks and I didn't think I could make it one more day at the point you're at now. It is worth it though. My girls are great nursers and they sleep well too. It really does make all that misery worthwhile. Hang in there, girl, you're doing a great (and extremely difficult) thing for your twins.

Oh I am looking for the same answers as you are about getting labor started! I am almost 37 weeks with twins myself, they are a good size and healthy. My Dr. keeps saying "everything looks great" and "you are having the ideal twin pregnancy". I have 4 other children and 4 C-sections, but this pregnancy feels horrible! My whole body hurts. My last baby came at 37 weeks when I drank caster oil and started labor. As soon as they decided I was in labor they did the C-section. That's what would happen this time, but I would feel so guilty if something went wrong!
Is there anyone out there who used caster oil with twins? My Dr. Is making me wait until September 14th and I don't think I can make it that long!
I am not on bedrest and can do anything I want, but i am in a lot of pain. (my hips, pelvis, knees, back) I have only gained 23 lbs, but the babies are over 6 pounds now. So I am laying around being miserable, and taking care of my 4 boys. Two are in highschool and are playing football and working, one is in junior high and in track now and the last one is 2 and a half and very demanding. My husband helps when he's not working, but geez I feel like I've been pregnant for a year and I want to get on with things! I have tried 2 a day orgasms, sex, nipple stimulation and some walking.
So anyone have any other advice?
