Oh, boy, do I ever need some help! Sweet little Evan has become quite the tantrum monster lately. They are completely ridiculous, over the top, HORRID tantrums! At the first moment of not getting his way, he'll throw himself down, screaming, rolling over, banging his head on the ground. He's done in on the sidewalk (that only took one head bang for him to regret it!), on wood floors, on the tile, everywhere. I worry that he is going to actually injure himself by slamming his head down. The tantrums last anywhere from 5to 25 minutes.
On top of the tantrums, he has started biting and pinching anytime he is upset with me or his brother. It is hard and painful!!

I can deal with the tantrums, the biting, and the pinching. They are frustrating, but I think a lot of that comes with the age. My biggest concern is the head slamming. I have no clue as to how to stop that, and he always has red bumps on his forehead from it hitting the ground!

Ironically, my background is in behavior management. It seems so easy to manage other people's kids, but when it comes to my own, I feel clueless!

His twin has a totally different personality. He's tried copying the tantrum thing few times, but after one time hitting his head on the ground, decided it's not really for him. :)

Am I alone in this? Anyone have solutions?

Hi Sarah. I have no solutions - just sympathy. My two boys started a bit with the tantrums and fighting with one another. It's not easy. One started to bite his brother often. I just tried to catch him at it when I could, slapped his little hand (not hard but enough to make a point) and gave him a frown. It took about a month and a half but he's finally stopped.
Good luck!
