I am carrying twins for my best friend. They are genetically her and her husband..I am simply the carrier. 40 weeks will be Feb. 5, 2004. I am currently 28 wks and 6 days. I live in Alabama and she lives in Michigan.

I feel pretty good now (I was sick this summer) and the babies move ALL THE TIME.

I have had several u/s and my friend doesn't want to know what they are having!

My hope is that the babies will be here by Jan 5. I am a Kindergarten teacher and will work up to the day (God willing).

I just wanted to say that you are an amazing person. Having watched several friends struggle with infertility and infant loss it warms my heart to know that there are people, like you, who are willing to give the ultimate gift of children to those who have had to endure so much in wanting to have their own family.

You bring the concept of being a friend to a whole new level. I wish you the best during these last few months of your pregnancy.

I just had to tell you that I think you are an awesome woman. Your friend has been blessed to have you in her life. I too had a problem with getting pregnant, and have had a couple of close friends battle with infertility and losses of pregnancies. Reading your post brought a smile to my face.:) :)

Best Wishes!!! I will have you and her family in my prayers.

What an incredible thing you are doing! How exciting. Where in Michigan are they?

How many children do you have of your own?

Best wishes to you and I think you are amazing.

Welcome to the boards.

I have 2 boys (who are 4 and 6). They are very excited about the babies. They know that they are my friends and they think everyone carries babies for their friends.

My 6 year old say a pg lady the other day and asked, "Do you think that is her baby or her best friend's ?"

My best friend went thru IF for 5 years and it really took a toll on her. We have been friends for 25 years. The whole process has not been bad at all!!!

It really hasn't been bad at all. I just can't wait until they are born and she gets to hold her babies for the 1st time!!

You are amazing and your friend is very lucky to have someone like you in her life! After having gone through the ups and downs of IVF treatment I always thought that I would want to help a friend out with preg. if they needed, but unfortunately I've had such complicated high risk pregnancies that my body is not able to handle anymore. Thank goodness there are women like you.

Best of luck!

Reading this thread brought tears to my eyes. You're a wonderful, kind soul. Your friend is very blessed to have you in her life, which I'm sure she knows. There is no greater gift than to give life, and to be able to give *TWO* lives to your best friend, well that just melts my heart.

Wow How wonderful. I have always thought of doing that, I love being pregnant, never bedrest, no complications, fairly managable deleveries...I would do that for someone that llonged for a baby but couldnt do it themselves.WAY TO GO!!

Thank you all for your kind words!
I am very blesses that I have such a close friend and that is why this whole experience not been bad. It has been a very positive experience for my family too.
I have learned a lot about infertility because of my friend and it is such a hard thing for a couple to endure. However, when her babies do get here they will NEVER be taken for granted.
For all of us who do have children, we need to remeber how blessed we are. The ten months (more or less) we carry them is only a small blip in the big picture of life.

Thanks again for all your support and keep me in your prayers!
