Hey there! Well I am also new to the board... my mom discovered you guys and insisted that I check you out... I am glad I did because I have learned alot! I have had a chance to read alot that made me feel a little better about concerns I had... my lack of weight gain for example. However, I have developed a new concern... I am about 17 and a half weeks along and haven't felt any movement from the kidos... I know everyone is different, but it just seems like everyone that I have talked to had felt something by now. Doc says everything is okay, but we haven't had a sono in a while, and she had also said at a previous appt. that I should expect to feel something by about now, so I can't help but be paranoid. Anyone have any comforting words... or advice/warnings? Anyway, I just want to thank you all for all the postings you have made... being young and 100% inexperienced with the mother thing, much less twins, reading things that you have gone through and advise on different subjects has helped alot.

Congratulations and welcome!
This board is a great place for information and support, so use it to your advantage. As far as the fetal movement goes if this is your first pregnancy you'll most likely feel it later than those with previous pregnancies. It varies a lot, so I would encourage you to be patient and as long as everything else is going well, I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Plus, you may have already felt movements, but just not realized what they were. Initially they're very faint-like quick fluttering and can often be mistaken for gas or something else. It does take awhile before the movements become obvious-especially with your first pregnancy.
When you do feel them though (and you will) it will be wonderful!

Hi, congrats to you, you sound just like i did, and infact it wasnt until i was 23 weeks when i felt my 2 girls and then it was only a flutter for maybe 2 or 3 weeks and then it started and didnt stop oh boy!!!! you Have some fun coming to you, it is only natural to worry but try not to it is perfectly normal and it wont be long until you are reading this question that someone else is writing and you will be the one giving advice.

Welcome & Congrats!
I was the same way. This was my first pregnancy and I did not really start feeling a lot of movement until 22 wks or so. I had a few flutters here and there. But, once they started, it seemed like they never stopped! Enjoy the movements. They are wonderful!

Welcome! I had the same worries as you and lots of other moms have too. I didn't feel real moves until 21 or 22 weeks and that seems to be pretty normal. Some flutters before then but nothing I was sure about. It's soooooooooo hard to wait patiently and it will happen. Then once it did happen I would worry if I didn't feel them enough or thought I didn't feel both of them. Always something to worry about but it's so cool when it does happen! :D

Hello & welcome to the boards Ana Bananana! I love that ID name!
Ditto for me, I didn't feel movement until after 20 wks. I was a worried wreck b/c I thought surely since there are two in there I'd be feeling movement early. Not so!
But like the others have said, once it starts it doesn't stop. I even had a dream one night when I was around 28 wks after (finally) going to sleep.. that I woke up and one of them had kicked their way out and was lying next to me...in a diaper! I don't think I'll ever forget that dream LOL.
You'll have so much fun and be filled with amazement as you watch your belly move. It'll look like two bear cubs in a gunny sack fighting over a jar of honey!!:p

Hi!
Welcome and congratulations!
I remember over a year ago I did a post with the same concerns that you are having. I think I was 18 weeks pregnant and had not felt movement. I was told that was normal. I didn't start feeling movement until 20 weeks. Trust me you are going to start feeling it soon!!!

Ana,
I didn't feel any fluttering. The first mov't I felt was a kick at about 18 weeks. This was before I knew about the twins...I very rarely feel anything other than kicks/punches here and there. It's scary that some days go by without me feeling anything. Don't worry though...your nurse said they were moving you just don't feel them. When we found out (about twins)at our first ultrasound at 21 weeks they were really moving a ton. The tech even commented on how much movement there was but I couldn't feel a thing...so it'll happen. Good luck, addie Oh last night we had some really spicy turkey meat tacos and they were going crazy moving...i'm not sure if it was a good thing but it did seem like they were reacting to the spicyness...if you like spicy things maybe you could give them a nudge too!

Hi Ana,
Try not to worry as I think if this is your first pregnancy you should feel movements slightly later. I too worried I hadn't felt anything at your stage but then at 20 weeks started to feel them all the time, so be patient. You should ask your Dr where the placentas are as they could prevent you feeling in certain areas.
Take Care

I think that sometimes you really don't know what you're looking for. I am 17 weeks pg w/ twins and I thought I was feeling only one of them because of the location. When I talked to the Doctor about it, he asked me to point out the spot I felt it..turns out that spot is where the arms to baby A are, and the feet to baby B. Guess I've been feeling them both!!
Anyhow, my doctor told me to drink a large glass of orange juice before going to bed..lay down for a good twenty minutes and you feel something...the sugar in the OJ gets them moving...Dont expect to feel anything major...mine was more like tickes in my stomach. That'll be the baby reacting from the sugar...
Good luck! Let me know if it works for you! :)

hi and Welcome... I could feel very earley but that was mostly because i knew what to "feel" for. Plus when I was about 17 weeks .. I'm so short that my twins had no where to go but out.. they kicked me alot.. and my tummy was always on the go.. I had loads of fun at work with my twins.. I mostly got out of work so my supervisers could play with my tummy.. hehe
Don't worry.. when your twins start kicking.. You will not be able to miss it. It will be a aewsome feeling and the most wonderful day! You be great at the Mommy thing!! You have us too!!!
Gl and Congrats!!!
