I know they say as long as your pregnancy is "normal" it should be ok... how normal is a twin pregnancy anyway? It all seems high risk.
My question...do you think orgasm is ok? Either with intercourse or a vibrator? Hate asking these questions, but I am so in the mood and so nervous at the same time...it has been 15 weeks!!

Second trimester is great for getting that drive back, but
I would check with your Dr. first. You're right about the fact that in a normal pregnancy, it's ok, but twins are different-so ask.
A former co-worker found out I'm expecting twins and all the complications, cerclage, bedrest, etc... and she said "Oh her poor husband can't have sex"........I was thinking, what about me? I think it's worse for me, my DH is too afraid of hurting the babies anyway.
Hope you get the OK :)

Be sure to talk to your doctor about this, he or she would be the one who knows the most about your circumstances. Good luck!

I would definitely check with your doctor. I have had no complications and I am currently 32 1/2 weeks pregnant with b/g twins. Believe it or not I am still having sex. With my first pregnancy I had not desire at this point. If the doctor says it is ok then go for it.

Ask your doctor like the others said. Its a kind of weird topic but at least you will know for sure. I am almost 16 weeks now. At 15 weeks I asked doctor and he said no actual penitration because we want to protect the cervix but orgasms are ok for now.
Just thought I would share what my doctor said.

I had no complications and went 37 weeks 5 days and my dr told me I could have as much sex and orgasms as I wanted. Come the 3rd trimester sex was a creative challange but fun!

I was 'on restriction' from 28-35 weeks... pooh! Fiancee and I cheated twice w/no ill effects but I AM NOT RECOMMENDING this.. everyone is different and your doc will know what is best for you. That being said don't forget that if your doc says no, nipple stimulation is also probably on your no-no list, too. :(
Hopefully you will be able to do as much as you want, whenever you want! Have fun!

Thanks everyone. I will talk to my doctor next week when I go in...geezsh....what a subject to talk about.
I have had a couple of orgasms...actually one in my sleep! Been having some seriously wacky dreams lately!! I always feel guilty, but no harm so far. He gave me a laundary list of no no's (arificial sweetners was on the list...but not orgasms).
Thanks for all your feedback!

I read that babies actually like the gentle rocking of an orgasim. How true this is or not remains to be seen.
I had sex all the way to the end and made it 38 weeks and 1 day. I had sex the day I went into to be induced and ended up not needing to be induced as I was already well on my way. I also went for a walk that day, so it's tough to say what triggered the labor.
I think sex is fine, orgasim too, but check with a doctor and make sure your pregnancy can handle it. Everyone is different so just be careful. If it hurts or you feel like you have contractions afterwards, stop having sex. That's what I was told.
Good Luck!

My doc said at our visit this past Monday that I could not have sex past 26 weeks. I am currently 24w5d.
My doc is a cautious doc though. He is also putting me on modified bedrest at 28 weeks (although he was willing to do it as early as 26 weeks based on a study that indicated women pregnant with twins who went on bedrest between 26-28 weeks were more likely to deliver 1-2 weeks later than women who did not). So, I am sure many docs opinions differ.
Just thought I would share.

Hello,
Just wanted to add my two cents! I'm 36 weeks (almost 37!) and have been having sex & orgasm the entire time (except for when I was having lots of braxton hicks contractions at 6-7 months). I've always paid very close attention afterwards. Making sure I wasn't having cramping or anything else out of the ordinary. To be honest, I have been somewhat nervous about it all along, but no problems here! Have fun! HAHAH!
