I just found this site last night which I'm thrilled about. I am 13w1d pregnant with twins. It took us 6 inj/iui cycles before we finally got pg. After 5 clomid cycles that didn't work. I have pcos. I'm 32 and my DH is 32.
We go in on nov 5 for our level 2 u/s and hoping to be able to tell the sexes. I'll be 17wks then.
Anyone else have this level2 u/s and can tell me what I can expect?
Can't wait to get to know everyone.
Oh, I live in South carolina (usa)
Thanks;
Leigh
Congrats and Good For You! Welcome! I didn't find out I was having twins til week 21...so I dont know what you could expect for the next U/S?
Yeah for you!!!!!

I am due Feb. 11, am 22 weeks now. I didn't have the level II ultrasound, but my midwife told me it is basically the same except a person with more training does it so they can interpret things with a whole lot more detail. How are you feeling? I just got put on strict bedrest for cervical shortening. It is getting better, but I may be on for the rest of pregnancy. I found out last week I am having one boy and one girl! Just what I was hoping.

Hi ladies;
I'm feeling a lot better now. That first trimester was h*ll. I was so nauseous. I ended up losing 8 pounds during those 1st 3 months. Now my nausea is gone. But I'm still feeling tired. I quit working on Dec.9 (22wks) and will be put on house arrest. Just going to have to wait and see whether I'll have to go on complete bedrest or not.
I'm also hoping for b/g twins.
I'll be having an amnio at 36wks to see if lungs are mature and if so we'll have the babies. That would be March, 17.
I'm usually a big worry wart. But for some reason since I found out I was pg I have been so calm. Really not worrying a whole lot. Definitely taking it easy. DH has been a huge help. But the one thing I'm a little worried about is.. This past monday I was 12w5d and my OB did a quick u/s to see/hear the h/b's since she couldn't hear both with the doppler. Baby A h/b was 140 and he/she was moving all over the place. Looked like a gymnist. But Baby B h/b was 152 but he/she wasn't moving hardly at all. And was a little smaller than Baby A. The OB said that one twin being a little smaller was normal. So that doesn't bother me to much. I was just wondering why A was doing all the jumping jacks while B just basically layed there. It would have been reassuring to see him/her more active.
I'm probably worrying for nothing. I can't wait for this level 2 u/s.
Well thanks for listening to me ramble...lol

Leigh,
I wouldn't worry about the activity level difference. My baby B (girl) is always jumping all over the place, and A (the boy) is almost always mellow. I used to worry about the heartbeat difference too, but every time they are different, sometimes they are both the same, sometimes one is way faster etc. And sometimes the way they are lying you can't really feel the movement as much. I got all paranoid after not feeling movement for a day and a half but went in to get checked and they were fine, hearts beating away, they had just changed position, and the midwife said they were most likely kicking the placenta (then when we did a later ultrasound we saw that they are actually kicking eachother!) and we don't feel that as much.
When I was on the fetal moniter in the hospital for a couple hours, I could hear baby A moving all over the place, I just don't feel it as much as the other one.

Hi!
I am due w/twins April 16, 2004. My level II is scheduled for November 19th - can't wait to find out who is in there!
I had a level II w/my daughter. It is like the other reply said, basically a very well trained tech takes all the measurements, etc., and then a maternal/fetal dr came in to review everything and take a look for himself. Very reassuring - and lots of great pictures!
Just found this site - yea! Maybe we can start a thread for April mommies and see who is out there. I know w/twins I have so many more questions than I ever thought of w/my daughter.
Take Care everyone!

Welcome Leigh and Debbie and congratulations.
Level 2 ultrasound is just a more high definition ultrasound and they do more extensive measuring and checking of each baby. They check all the internal organs and the brain and measure the arm and leg lengths and head and belly circumference. They will also check your cervix and placenta(s) and blood flow through the cords to each baby. It was really amazing to see all that they could see and show us. You also might want to call ahead and see if you can bring a video tape, our peri tapes the ultrasound but then would tape a few minutes of each baby for us so we have a view of each of our boys every three weeks as they were developing. Enjoy this view inside!! :)
Debbie- where are you in Cinci? My sister lives in Mariemont. I love your area.

Hi Laurie,
We live in Mt. Washington. When we were first married, we lived in Mariemont. We looked at houses there last summer, but decided to stay where we are. Mariemont is so cute - but the prices you have to pay for a smaller home, yard, etc., just not what we want at this time.
Oh, I did not feel good today. My daughter is getting over a stomach bug and I think I may be getting it.
Hope everyone is doing well!
Take Care,
Debbie

My sister lived in Blue Ash when they first got married and then they moved away for work and grad school and ended up back in Mariemont. It's such a cute little town but it is EXPENSIVE!!
Hope you feel better soon...it's no fun being sick and even worse when you are pregnant!

Hello,
I am new to the board. I love reading everyones post. I am 19 weeks pregnant with twins. My Due Date is 4-17-2004. We are hoping for the end of March. I am growing very fast and have gained 14 pounds so far. We had our level two last week and it was amazing to see their brains, hearts, spines, noses, and well everything. We are not finding out the sex, we want to be surprised. These are are first of what we hope to be a very happy family. I used Clomid and it worked after 4 months. My husband and I are trying to prepare our lives for this new adventure. We live in Hawaii and have no family here so it is a little scarey. I look forward to being to touch with all of you. Oh yeah and someone mentioned an April post there is one going. Take care and rest !! Maui Mama to be!

Hello, been awhile since I've posted. I've been able to quit work a few weeks ago and it's amazing how nice it feels to sleep when I need to! :) Due date is 4/12/04, and we had our Level 2 this week at the 19 week mark. And hurray, one of each sex! I was hoping and praying, and so was my 6 yr old dd.
Everything looks great, and I can relate with not feeling them kick all the time, I go several days or longer with no fluttering. The ultrasound showed them very active and kicking each other, just like another poster saw. Too funny!
On an emotional level, this was so incredible to see. Hadn't had an ultrasound since Sept, and to see them playing and know what sex they are, to see all of the organs developing well, it makes it all even more real and makes me a little less depressed about my bulging belly that gets in the way of everything! LOL
I am so thankful, after 5 yrs of trying this is a double blessing and I can't believe we're so fortunate. Clomid is good stuff, isn't it! Has my cousin terrified to take it, even though she's having trouble conceiving, she's petrified of the idea of twins! haha I'm all for it, someone to sympathize with me when sleep becomes a thing of the past.
Speaking of sleep, it's the wee hours of the morning and I have insomnia, need to go try and get some more winks. Hope everyone is doing well!
