Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!! That first ultrasound is amazing isn't it? I found out I was having twins when I was about 9 weeks so we were able to literally watch our children grow since we had u/s every 4 weeks! You will find great people and advice on this board. Good luck!!!

Hi and Welcome. You are very similar to me. I am 38, husband 34 (he'll be 35 soon) and we just found out we were having twins from the u/s last Friday. My due date is April 5th - if I go to 40 weeks. Doctor says more like mid march. I am currently 8 weeks. We saw them at 7 weeks...two separate sacks and all so they are fraternal...looks like I released two eggs, which I hear happens more frequently in moms over 35. Do you have any other children? I have two older ones age 16 and 14. My husband has two ages 10 and 11...so this will make six...EEK! They don't all live with us though. Modern day brady bunch! Haven't told work yet. Just started there a few months ago, not that they won't be supportive and all, but I am sure they will be thinking "great, what does this mean for us"...which honestly, I don't know yet.

Look forward to chatting with you over the next several months....I am sure it is going to be an adventure! Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. I am not sure how much I will be able to post because it is hard to keep my eyes open at this point. I can't wait until this tiredness passes. As far as other children I do already have a daughter she will be 18 on the 6th of Sept. So this is our second family in a way. She is so excited though. Thanks again for the welcome. Cynthia

It's so fun to see other mom's due next April. We found out we were pregnant a year ago this week and that it was twins in early September. My original due date was April 29, 2003 but the boys decided to come early. I am 37 now so right there with you two. Best wishes!! It's a fun ride and you have good timing because you will not have to wear maternity bathing suits, you will spend the winter pregnant and then have all spring and summer to be out and about with babies!! :D

I also due in april I am 10 weeks and had an ultrasound this past week. It was great to see them moving around and waving their little arms. I also have two sacs and two placentas. I only have one child and she is 14 months old so we are going to have our hands full.
Congrats to you!

Congratulations to all the Mommies due in April 2004! I was due in late April 2003 but my boys had other plans and wanted to be February babies. The worrying didn't pass for me yet and they are 6 months old :D but it did lessen with each milestone (end of first trimester etc)
Just an FYI for those of you who believe you are having fraternal twins, unless you find out later that you are having one of each gender there is no way to know if you are having fraternal or Identical twins until after they are born. 25% of ID twins have completly separate sacs and placentas. Don't be suprised if your U/S tech or even your doctor is misinformed and tells you that they must be fraternal due to having 2 of everything. There are 5 sets of twins (3 frat, 2 ID) in my immediate family that were born in the last 6 years and they have all had 2 sacs and placents.

Wow that is exciting to learn so early. I didn't know until 22 weeks.

I cannot stress how important it is for you to eat protein and drink lots, and I mean LOTS, of water. Cut all all sugar and processed foods, too. Nutrition is SO important to a twin pregnancy. Elizabeth Noble has a great book on Twins.

Do you know their sexes?

Hello April Due dates. My due date is April 1st. I found out at 5 1/2 weeks becuase of bleeding two. This is my third pregnancy. Have an 8 and 6 year old. My twins are in two seperate sacs too. My next sono is on the 19th and I can't wait to see my babies again.

We should keep a thred with April due dates as our heading so we can keep track of each other.

I too have been very tired. I keep wondering will I ever stop being so tired???

Hello everyone! Yes, we need to start an April thread...although, we may not make it to April. My doc said mid-march was more than likely...

Just had another sonogram today. We taped it. I am 10 weeks today. It is so cool..they are finally starting to look like something. One of them did a summersalt while we were watching!

I don't think the worry ever stops! I am almost past the "first trimester herdle". After this it will be the level two sonogram, and the amnio at 17 weeks. I am terrified of that for so many reasons! The obvious...finding out there is something wrong, and then the possibility of the procedure causing miscarriage. All too much to think about.

So far, so good though...so I am counting my blessings!

I am really in awe about the whole identical/fraternal thing. I guess we will just see. Either when we find out the sexes (and they are boy girl) or at birth.

Sounds like a few of us are starting over....I bet when our twins are in school, we will see more and more twins...of older parents, moreso than we did as children.

Ok, all for now....and bye the way YES...I am always tired! That has been the biggest issue of all. I am nausous in spurts throughout the day, and my breasts feel like someone has them in a vice-grip....but the tiredness...geezsh...by 6:00pm, I want to crash on the couch!!

Good night ladies!

Lisa

I am having a level 2 and amnio at 17 weeks too. I think my date for that is October 24th. I am nervous and excited about it all at once. This pregnancy is so different from my first two.

Some times I think I am showing and sometimes not. I am not sure. I know I got some maternaty jeans because my regular jeans often feel way too tight. This weekend I wore regular shorts but used rubber bands to extend the buttons. Maybe it is that bowel thing. what's up with that??? Maybe I just want to be showing really bad.

My next sono is next Friday (19th). I can't wait to see my little ones again.

I just wanted to say hello and congrats to all the new mommies. I am currently 31 weeks and 1 day along and let me tell you, the uncomfortableness only gets worse. Sleep will be a thing of the past. At 10 weeks I found out it was twins. Quite a shocker for me. The anxiousness and overwhelming feeling will subside as your babies grow and you can really feel their individual personalities. The Level II u/s are awesome. The first one is usually the longest, as they need to check EVERYTHING with each baby. They can even tell you how much they weigh. My little peanuts weigh 3 lbs. 8 oz. and 3 lbs. 6 oz. right now. The tiredness feeling does go away for a bit, but then it creeps back up on you. All I want to do anymore is sleep. It's crazy! But you also have to think that your body is working twice as hard to make those babies. The time really does fly, so make sure that you take EXTRA good care of yourself. If you are up for it, try going to a spa. A massage might even be nice too. Eating properly is the key, but I'm sure you heard that a million times already. LOL

This board is absolutely wonderful and I'm glad that I found it. You can get some great advice from people who have been there and also from people who are experiencing everything you are. I wish all of you a healthy pregnancy. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask or if you want, I post on the November thread. Good Luck and take care!

Rachael
