I am so sick that I am having trouble working and concentrating. I am only 8 weeks and I feel more tired than I have ever been in my life. All I want to do is sleep. I have been vomiting so much that my blood vessels in my face are all broken. I am having problems getting nutrition. Is this normal? Is this morning sickness times two??
Yes to all of what you said and asked, and a hearty though nauseated "welcome to my world!" I suffered dreadfully until I finally asked my doc for a prescription for something that might help. He gave me Phenergan, which did the trick but knocked me out (this was OK for me because by the time I got wise to how bad off I was I was already done teaching for the summer). There is also another drug called Zofran which apparently zaps nausea completely without causing drowsiness (though some folks report it causes constipation - what a joy that must be).
I assume you have tried home remedies, there are many many many. I have tried them all and thrown them up, so can't claim anything helped me. It was sooooo annoying to be eating exactly what the nurse told me to eat in exactly the manner she told me to eat it and feel it coming not just out of my mouth but my nose. And those blood vessels breaking in the face - yuck yuck yuck! And do your eyeballs hurt from the pressure? Boy does it ever suck.
So first off I'd say you are sooooo not alone! This is a common feature of twin pregnancy since we have double the hormones (when you get a nausea-free second get a copy of Barbara Luke's When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets or Quads, and check out her website at www.drbarbaraluke.com for info on twin pregnancy, morning sickness, and nutrition).
Second I'd say make your misery known in GREAT detail to your doctor. Don't leave the office without a prescription in your nauseated little hand. They don't really want to give us anything, but phooey on them. Whine, *itch, moan, complain, cry, whatever it takes.
Third, I'm in my third trimester now and still have bouts of nausea, having that Phenergan on my nightstand not only eases my nausea but my mind.
Good luck and know that many women on this forum feel your pain (in many cases quite literally!).

I had extreme morning sickness until 14 or 16 weeks. I ate alot of peppermint candy. The thing that helped me the most were popscycles(sp) I've told a couple of other people and they seemed to help them too. I ate 7 a day at one point. Wow. I hope it passes for you, I truly know your pain.

Just wanted to say good luck. I didn't get ms until I was 12 weeks along and it lasted until about 16 weeks. Ditto to what Amy said about checking out Dr. Luke's website. Her book is awesome as well.
I know I've seen these pregnancy lollipops on the market now that have been advertised in ePregnancy magazine. Maybe you could try those.
Good Luck.

I too was very very sick for the first 4 months. I was sent to the hospital about 3-4 times to get IV's since I could not even keep water down. Eventually they gave me Zofran which made a significant difference. Ask your doctor about it. Also, to keep fluids down try popsicles. You are not alone and most likely the sickness will go away. Good luck and keep us posted on what happens.

I am 15 weeks along with twins and my sickness is a lot better but only a couple of days ago, I was walking down the street and out of nowhere started to feel sick and projectile vomited about 4 times all over the pavement. I have had two singleton pregnancies and were nothing like this, feels like a whole new experience.
I hope you find a way to feel better soon.

I was extremely sick for the first 4 months of my pregnancy. I could not eat, I could not work, I could not sleep. I begged the doctor for medicine and was put on promethizine. It was a fantastic. It didn't put me asleep and I was able to live a normal life again. I am now 33 weeks and no more sickness at all.

When I was pregnant with my twins, I had the worst morning/afternoon/night sickness ever. Although I had never been pregnant before and had nothing to compare it to, I thought it was excessive. My morning sickness led me to believe that I was having twins even before the sonogram told me so. In fact, for an entire month before my sonogram, I told my husband everyday, "I am having twins" or "I better be having twins, because I am never getting pregnant again." My doctor gave me perscription for medicine after the first trimester ended and things got better and the sickness was all gone after another month or so and I ate so much I gained 70 pounds.
Oh, by the way, I found that sugerfree fruit flavored popsicles sometimes calmed my stomach during that first trimester ordeal.

Mine started at 8 weeks and it finally finish, I think and hope last week, 15 weeks. I was miserable all day and all night. I have not attended a meeting at work in 7 weeks. I finally went to my doctor and asked her for something to help, she gave me Zofran and boy did it make me consipated. I am a VERY regular person so this was just as uncomfortable as being sick all day. I would go back and forth. One day was so bad that I would have to take the medicine, two days later I was thinking, "was it really that bad? This is worse". So I never truly felt any relief, finally a couple of weeks ago it moved to just mornings and then last week it has been totally gone. So good luck, hang in there and think that tomorrow could be the last day of this stuff.
Also, I complained to my doctor it made me constipated and she said she didn't think it should have. Nice to know I am not crazy and other people feel this way too. I will have to let her know next week.

Hang in there. Hopefully it will go away as you go along. The best things to me were the frozen soft lemonade bars from Minute Maid and animal cookies. But even those didn't work sometimes. Just make sure you don't get dehydrated, that's the most important thing. I'm sorry you are having such a tough time! :(

Oh I feel for you. I too suffered terribly from morning sickness. My dh found these lollipops called prego pops and they helped a little bit. He found them on the web, so if you did a search I'm sure you could find them.
Hopefully, you are in the home stretch with the M.S.
I know this is hard, but remember, MS is actually a GREAT sign that your babies are doing well. That's the only thing that got me through the first 16 weeks.
Good luck.
