So today my mom and I piled all the the kids in the minivan to go get some groceries. As I pull into the parking lot, the ONE space for new and expecting moms is available. PERFECT! There is a car in front of me that pulls into the space. Crud!

So of course I check out to see who gets out of the car and to see if she is pregnant OR has a new born.

Nope! She was an older lady (40's) with no kids and didn't look pregnant to me...or at least pregnant enough to park there!

So we parked further away (did I mention it's RAINING today here??) and went in to grab a few items.

When I saw the lady, I said, "So, when are you expecting?" She looked at me all confused like and said, "Excuse me?" And I said, "Well, I just figured that isn't fat you're carrying, but a pregnancy since you parked in the ONLY pregnancy/new mother parking spot and I had to park further out even though I'm carting 6 month old twins and a three year old." And I took my cart and double stroller and went on my way. (And yes, my mother about KILLED me for being so rude)

YES, I know it was rude of me to say that, but it felt good to vent. I'm such a non-confrontal person. But I had to go to the doctor today for the twins, Ethan has an ear infection, the babies still aren't sleeping through the night, and my three year old was going stir crazy since it has been raining the past few days and cannot go outside and play.

:anon: Go ahead...how bad am I??? :hide:

I'll be honest...I have actually done the very same thing you did....My son was only 17 months old when our daughter was born. An older lady, probably in her late 60's early 70's...wearing workout spandex complete w/ headbands, pulled into that spot....I asked her the same question, pretending to be all excited for her...same response...puzzled look and all...I am not asking for a handout by any means, but when you have that many small children or physically "challenged" b/c of pregnancy...people really need to have more respect....I don't pull into the handicap spaces...don't pull into the preggo or new mom spaces....Good for you for sticking up for all of us!!:shakehands:

WOW!!! Well, I feel so much better then! I thought for sure someone would tell me that I was in the wrong and a part of me was feeling kind of guilty for saying it. But, you ladies have given me my confidence back in what I did. :thankyou: I'm not going to feel guilty at all (well, okay maybe still a little bit)

That is AWESOME!!!!

She needed to be put in her place. Those spots are there for a reason! She would probably feel guilty if she used a handicapped spot and then saw someone with a wheelchair coming up from the back of the parking lot.

I just wish you'd stuck around to get a reply from her...

She is probably one of the ones who tries to offer this sympathy spill about how she feels so sorry for you that you have your hands full just to back stab a mother in the parking lot.

I get the story all the time and I have now gotten to where I bluntly put it back. I was going to ask if you were on Wellbutrin. That is when my bluntness started coming out.

The biggest question I get daily is "Are all of these kids biologically yours and Are you having anymore?" I politely but very bluntly answer Yes these are my biological blessings from God and I haven't decided if I am done yet! Truthfully I am done since I had a tubal and partial hyst. but I didn't answer her question so I am not telling a fib. I didn't say what I was undecided about...:snicker: :snicker: THe way I see it is that my husband supports us and I take care of them at home. We get no assistance so I dont feel its anyones business to tell me how many to have...

Ummmmm.... I don't think I am reading this right... Are you hormonal and post-pregnancy, or are you making hormonal posts while pregnant?

What I'm saying is.... Are you knocked up?!?

Anyway the reason I looked up this post is cuz I had a dream that my best friend and I went to a store and parked in the expectant mother parking. Then a woman (with red hair...) yelled at us so I told her I just had a c-section 3 days before. Then we kept running into her and I had to walk like I was in pain. She kept asking me questions about the babies and I was afraid she would figure out I was lying.... And then I woke up to feed a baby. Just thought I would let you know the effect this had on me!

Good for you!! Maybe next time she'll think twice before parking in a spot she doesn't deserve to park in!

NO!!!!! Not pregnant! Although funny you should say, because I had a dream last night that a troll asked me to play a game of cards with him. He said that if I won, that he would give me a baby girl in 3 days. Weird, huh?

But I'm 99% sure I'm not....at least that is what the box of condoms tell me.:snicker:

That is an odd dream. How did you know it was a troll? Did he look like a troll doll or live under a bridge?
:snicker:

My period was late last week and my hubby just got the snip-snip. I was like "If I am pregnant, this is God's way of telling us he doesn't like vasectomies...." I was just positive it would be twins again since I appearantly ovulate by the dozen. Luckily it came. I think it was late cuz of my thyroid issue. Can't wait to get this resolved....
