Ah, those are some cute pics! I just started mine on cereal 4 days ago and everytime I give them some they look like I poisoned them - then spit out...by the 4th spoonful they take it a little better.

If they spit out alot it could be because they don't like cereal. You taste it...it tastes like a cardboard box..so awful I can't blame them. My kids magically were champion eaters once I mixed applesauce into the cereal..lol He looks like he enjoyed himself though!

Yeah going to keep trying for a bit then we'll try something else... Got oatmeal and barley too! Forgot to get more applesauce though :(

Dina-
I think you are right about the cereal, when I give them a little taste of applesauce when I am eating it - they both LOVED it. Same with a little bit of a grape. Not too happy with peas though. But I am going to keep giving all the veggies to them. Someone once said that it takes 22 different tastes for babies to adapt. Not sure it is true but I will keep trying.

Not too happy with peas though.
My two didn't like the peas the first time but they liked it every time after. Did you make your own peas? I tasted the jarred baby food sweet potatoes and boy they didn't taste good. When I make it it tastes good. Maybe if you are giving them store bought they would prefer you to make them? I steam frozen peas.. blend them in a blender and add water if it needs it. So simple. I bought the economy bag for $2.50 and make like 30 containers of peas for them and I tossed them in the freezer and defrost when needed. Save the store bought containers to put what you make in them.

Is it okay to refreeze frozen veggies?? I didn't think you were supposed to freeze vegetables that had previously been frozen.

Mine don't care for plain cereal, especially rice. They eat it just fine mixed with something. They've liked everything except avocado--Breydon tolerated it but Bethany refused it after one bite.

Too cute - Chris looks so happy! They will get the hang of it! We've been doing solids a while now and Aiden still has days where most of it comes back out. What's funny - DS liked oatmeal better than rice but the twins seem to like rice better. But - I have noticed like other posters that unless I mix it with fruit/veggie they don't take it as well. So I make sure I have fruit and cereal on the spoon, especially for Aiden, and they will take it easier.

Yeah not impressed so far. He doesn't even open his mouth for it (nor does he for the bottle when he's not hungry, so it doesn't bode well). Lisa ate some, but once it's in her mouth she just looks at me like 'what am I supposed to do with that?'. At least she opens her mouth well for it... I'll try oatmeal tomorrow...
