Well, it looks like two more boys for me! My level 2 ultrasound showed two healthy boys. All
weights and measurements are good for now and no indications of any problems at this point. One twin measured 10 oz. and one 11 oz. Both are measureing right around 20 weeks. I am a tiny bit dissappointed at two more boys (I have two boys already), but am already getting used to the idea. Major dissadvantage--no cute identical dresses. Major advantages--I already have plenty of experience with boys, I don't have to worry about whether or not I will make a good female role model, no weddings to pay for, and I never have to give "the sex talk". OK, so some of those are sexist and a bit tongue-in-cheek, but anyway... DH is thrilled, I think he was panicking about what to do with girls. My older DS was dissappointed, but he'll get over it. The younger one is happy either way I think,
although he originally said he wanted girls too. Mainly, I am justrelieved that they appear healthy.

Had my Level II us and we've also got 2 boy parts! This will be good for my now 3.5 yr old DD (2 more princesses would've been overkill). And now DH won't be out-voted by estrogen. The peri assures me that both babies are doing well and are on schedule. Baby A is 13 oz while Baby B is 11.5 oz. So, we're at 19w 4d and we've made it half way!! Now to think of boys names....any suggestions?

Shawna~
Congratulations on the wonderful results of your ultrasound. That is so wonderful that both boys look good. Me and my husband are having twin girls and we were a bit taken back at the idea of having two girls to raise at the same time. Is this going to be your last pregnancy? Boy I hope that you have a huge pantry and a chef style kitchen to feed all of those men.

Wow 2 more boys! Congrats! We have a 16 mo. DD and found out at our 23 w Level II U/S that we're having 2 more girls! I was very disappointed and became depressed for a couple days. I really wanted a boy. But I think I'm started to accept the girl thing, finally! I think we may try again in a few years for a boy. But what would I do with 4 girls?

Great news that your boys are growing well!

LOL about the girl dresses: it's always when shopping for baby clothes that I get my pangs for a little girl. We've got all boys so far in this generation of grandkids on both sides of the family -- so the grandparents were looking to us for girls. And I'm kind of a girly girl, so I don't quite know what I'm going to do with 2 boys.

Like everything else, I guess I'll figure it out as I go along :)

Congrats Shawna!!!! I'm very happy for you. I had my Level II on 6-16 and I found out that I am having one of each. These are my first babies. I was rooting for 2 girls as well as my sister and mom, but the rest of my family said one of each...Looks like they won. I am looking forward to meeting my babies. My house has all females living in it, including the 2 cats we have!!! So Alexander will get LOTS and LOTS of attention ...as well as Paige (she will NOT be denied). Having two more boys doesnt sound all that bad. Just be thankful that they are healthy and everything looks a-ok so far. I was so fearful that something was going to be wrong at my u/s, but I guess it was just those jitters. But once again, congrats. You are about a week ahead of me I think. Best of luck to you and your baby boys! Have names picked yet???

Looks like the boys are winning! I found out on the 18th mine are boys (remember the incredible miracle sex-change within the womb? hehehe) I too am relieved NOT to have to deal w/female hormones in a few years.. we had figured out if they were girls that I would be hitting menopause about the same time the girls were hitting puberty! Poor DH... now, while I will be the one outnumbered, the boys will always be sweet to me and I can give the evil eye to THEIR girlfriends, the way I always got it! ;)
Glad everything is looking good, btw, when is your EDD? Mine is 11-8-03 (but Dr. won't let me go past 38 weeks, which would be 10-26).
Congrats!

TwinMom2Be--Looks like we're on the same track. I had my Level II on the 18th, am having boys, and am due 11-08, but won't go past 38 wks either. So far, they are saying mine are identical, but they are leaving a small print and will say for sure after they see the placenta when I give birth.

I'm feeling a lot of movement now....even from the outside.

How's everyone doing emotionally? These hormones are really putting a toll on me. And people are driving me crazy!!

Good luck to everyone!!

Thanks everyone for your well-wishes. Responding to some questions:

Yes, I think this will probably be my last pregnancy. I am 36 now and these will be our 3rd and 4th children. I am too scared to try for a girl now, LOL! SO maybe, If I can't stand it, I'll get DH to agree to adopt a girl in future.

2boyz4us, sorry you were so down. I was actually surprised at myself. I wasn't as disappointed as I thought I would be.

We don't pick out names until the children are born--a Hindu tradition (DH's family).

I'll be 38 weeks Oct. 22 and I think my Dr. won't let me go past that. So I should have these babies by mid-October!

lflee, I am in the same boat with probably identicals. Both the sono techs said they were identical with shared placenta and thini membrane, but the Dr. hedged a lot, saying ultrasound cannot be sure. Placental pathology at the birth should confirm, but I'm going with identical myself.
I feel some movement and kicks, but not as much as would think considering how much they were moving and flipping in the sono yesterday!

hehehe! IFlee, you are so right on! Every night I look at my DH and say to myself 'Now why on earth are you so upset he did not bring you a napkin to the table?" Sheesh, he is an angel to put up w/me lately. I have felt some movements, mostly at night when I'm laying on the couch or getting ready to go to sleep. Baby A (Eric) is head down poking at my cervix, and baby B (Evan) is transverse w/his head on my right. Mostly I get little kicks on the left and feel looong rolls on the right. Where do you live? I'm in NC, was wondering if it was the water out here or something.. hehehe!

We found on last week that we are having 2 boys. I have to
admit it took me by surprise as well. I was so sure it was
one of each but maybe that was just wishful thinking. I'm
18 weeks - due November 20. I'm 38 and this will be
it for us. I'll have to hope for granddaughters someday! I
do have a question. Many of you have posted your babies
sizes and weight - how do you get that? Does the doctor
tell you or is that what the little numbers on the ultrasound
photos mean?

mlw1378--Each time I get an ultrasound done, I ask the technician specific questions.....each baby's size, weight, gestational age, etc. They have been really good about telling me. It helps me have a little bit more piece of mind knowing how much they have grown and developed.

Greenbriar5--Funny how OBs leave that little clause just in case they are wrong about the identicalness!

These will be my last kids. I was happy with just my DD, as I have feared childbirth all my life. But my husband really wanted more. I said that I would want 1 or 3 (didn't want the typical twosome). I guess the powers of be said, well, you're getting 3! And, my OB considers me "of advanced maternal age" becuase I will be hitting the big 35 in 10 days!! I've told my mom that this is it, she ain't getting anymore grandkids from me. She was really thankful that I'm having boys this time.

I just bought some stuff to get the nursery started. I think I spent too much already!
