Well lesson learned! Yesterday evening I felt kind of crampy. Like right before you start your period. I really didn't think much of it. I just took it easy as usual(what else can u do on bedrest) and drank some water and milk. I went to bed at 11p and was woke up at 12 with more uncomfortable cramps. They were pretty consistent and wouldn't let up no matter what I tried. At 3:30 I decided to wake DH up and head to L&D. By then they were hitting every 5-6 minutes. At the hospital they checked me and I was 1cm dialted and 50% effaced. I was contracting every 3 minutes. They had me drink more water but they preceded. They did a urine culture and some labs and started me on IV fluids. Well my urine was still very concentrated and confirmed that I was dehydrated. I thought I was drinking enough water at home along with lots of milk which I crave, but I guess it was not enough. I was given fluids for 6 hours before the contractions subsided enough for me to be released. They checked me once more before discharging me and I was stil 1cm but increased to 70%. So I'm back home again and drinking lots and lots of water. Also remember that milk, juices, and sodas are no replacement for water and may not keep you hydrated as well, especially sodas. As my nurse said we are keeping three people hydrated! So please ladied learn from my mistake! Keep a water bottle with you all the time and drink, drink, drink!
