Hi! Thought I'd start a new thread. I'm 37 and starting my 35th week with di/di twin boys and I am ready to be DONE! Is it that I'm old or that I'm this far along (with twins)? I'd like to deliver the boys this week but is it too early for them? My dr will be out of town next week and the idea of waiting two more weeks kills me! He won't induce me until 38 weeks. The thing is . . . I'm quite sure I'm further along than I'm told I am by about two weeks. School started in September so I was much too busy to think about me and DH. Anyway . . . couldn't sleep because the smoke detector was going off in my sons room and keeping me and DH awake but not the baby. Go figure! Also, my brother-in-law called with the news that my sister had her baby late last night. A girl, Londyn Hunter (I think, if they stayed with what they've been calling her). Maybe now that DH pulled out the detector I can go back to sleep. Let's hope for some good ZZZZZZZZZZZ. :cloud9:

Hang in there, mama! The last couple of weeks is always the longest, I think, plus the added little annoyances (like errant smoke detectors) just seem to make it harder. Enjoy these last few days as best you can, and give that belly some good rubbing (I promise, you'll miss it when it's gone!).

I echo cindi's sentiments. Hang tough, mamma.

I think you are feeling done, not old :)
35 weeks is good, but a couple more weeks is even better for their health. keep them cooking mama. it'll all be over very soon, though it might not feel like it right now.

I've been wondering this myself. Am I just old or is it because it's twins this time? With my singleton I had tons of energy, ran rings around people until the day I delivered, spackled and painted the nursery, stood on ladders, at 6 mos was up on the roof clearing the gutters. I was 32 then and 35 now. I can't imagine 3 yrs did that much damage to me! :) But I have been tired since the beginning, can never get enough sleep, pray for the days my son is in daycare so I can come home and sleep an extra 2-3 hrs. I want these babies to cook as long as possible, but I can't help thinking about how nice it would be to take a deep breath or be able to get up from the floor without a major production or find a shirt that covers my entire belly. And then I look at my terror-on-wheels 2-1/2 yr old and think "Oh, crap! I'm gonna have 2 more just like that!" and I'm GLAD that the babies are still inside me. :snicker:

Keep them in, the longer they stay in there, the healthier they will be and the easier it will be on you once they are born. Go to the full 38 weeks if your body will allow. I am 38 and see a big diff in energy levels from when I was pregnant with my older boys, 20,19,15 and 8. Then again, I have never taken care of two babies by myself 24/7 either. My pet peeve btw, NOBODY tells you that you are much more likely to conceive twins between 35 and 40, they only tell you that your fertility is going downhill. Surprise :snicker:

You're definitely not old! I had my twins at 38 yrs. old and went to 38 weeks. You can do it!!

I was more tired when pregnant with Olivia than with the twins. My twin pregnancy was much better than I expected (because I was expecting the worst, I guess :snicker:), and really had very little trouble.
I delivered Wyatt and Logan at 37 weeks. I was 48.

hello, there, hang on in as long as you can- it's better for the babies. you are not old, twin pregnancies are definitely more taxing. i was 38 when i had my boys at 38 weeks, they weighed 8lb1 and 7lb8, so it was definitely worth it- not one day in NICU, cam straight to my (hospital) room. good luck and congratulations!!
